Why must people beat a dead horse..

This is for marriages, obviously again marriage in Ohio is male/female. That is that, unfortunately. As much as I hope at some point Ohio decides to overturn a previous decision, I can only voice my concern there, not actually change it. Obviously as a public company, CP will abide by Ohio's law, as they did originally.

Trust me the company in no way discriminates. They let gay people host an unofficial Gay Day with no issues, many of the employees, including many gold tags are Gay. Think down here @ KI. They let a great group close down the park and leave it open for the LGBT community, and their supporters.

Right now it's just unfortunate that Ohio is dragging it's feet, just like what other states are. However, if the public wants change, they need to voice it and let their government officials decide, or elect those to make the decisions they want on their behalf, that's just the way it works.

I will say as soon as that law is signed and Gay marriage in Ohio is legal, CP will sell them to people of the LGBT community just the same. They didn't discriminate before, they won't after. They're just following the law as expected.

Oh man if only I was getting married May 31st 2015 instead of 2014 lol I would SO do that. I love the beach up there. It is so so gorgeous well now I can add another spot to vow renewal/anniversary party locations haha

Seems like a lot is not included for a pretty hefty price. Kind of screams, "Yeah, we'll let you do it... but don't expect any real effort out of us." I mean, really? They'll supply up to 100 chairs but it only includes 12 tickets? 90 minute escorted photo session without a photographer? What does that even mean? The way I'm reading it (and yes, I realize I could be reading it incorrectly) they want you to have your wedding from 8a-10a (because, you know... 8am weddings are all the rage today) and then they kick out everyone but the 12 who have the admission tickets. Is that right? Are the 12 complementary tickets in ADDITION to the admission of the 100 occupied seats? My mind is blown.

I mean, I get that you'd do the ceremony and then typically go to some sort of reception, but that's for a typical wedding. This isn't a typical wedding and it's not intended for typical people. It's made for enthusiasts and MAYBE former employees who met there. Either way, I'm sure that most in attendance would rather just enjoy the park for the rest of the day... and even at that, why would you leave money on the table for the reception? There's really no facility in Cedar Point that can accommodate 100? You could charge an arm and a leg for the reception and it would be a no brainer as part of the package.

Then again, its not that much different than what some other places are offering/charging. The church we got married at asked for a $400 donation (we could only afford $200 and they were okay with it). Some of the other churches/sites we looked at ranged from 250-2000 depending on the place. And that was just for the place for the wedding ceremony (not the reception).

The photography package looks like you are paying to just be able to get photos at CP. Private property and all. One place offered us to allow us the opportunity to take photos on an gazebo in the middle of a small man made lake for 100 or so. We didnt do that.

My wife and I seriously looked at the Disney Weddings when we got married almost 3 years ago. At the time it was a minimum $10000 spending to get a Disney wedding. Messing around on the Disney Wedding site it looks like you can only bring 18 guests. I believe they dont get admission into the WDW either.

Weddings are crazily expensive now. Looks like the 12 tickets are to be used as a wedding gift to your party. The rest of the guests are expected to get out of the park no later than 10:01

Mrs. Gator & I got married on the campus of Miami University, which is where we met. Since we got married on the weekend that her family typically has their family reunion, a lot of her family that came to town from Michigan & Pennsylvania used the day after the wedding to visit KI and use both days as their unofficial reunion. 17 years later, they still talk about how much fun they had that weekend.

Compared to Divorce, Marriage is very cheap.

I feel like we as a culture put too much emphasis on the wedding and not the marriage, there is a reason why nearly 50% of American marriages end in divorce.

I don't like the idea of Cedar Point weddings. I'm not married, but from what I hear, marriage is an awful, miserable way of life. How could you hold something so sad at one of the funnest places in the world?

Then again, Millennium Force is a metaphor for marriage. It has its ups, it has its downs, but if it's so scary, why is the line so friggin' long?

You know, a amusement/themepark wedding is something I've always wanted and I think the idea is cool, but I feel the price is high for what you get at CP.

Normal wedding:

Photographer: $500

Videographer: $500

Reception: 100 people at $45 per plate (included DJ and cake, 5 hour rental of room, etc)

Total: $6000

(not counting tux rental, wedding bands, dress, etc)

Disney Wedding: Bare Min. Only what was "needed" no enhancements (photo albums, etc)

Sea Breeze Point, wedding (this is what costs 4500....)

Cake/Champagne, Flowers

Starts at $6880 (18 guests only)

Cedar Point Wedding (going to use my wedding numbers to fill in some gaps)

Cedar Point Beach Wedding/Frontier Wedding: 1500/2500

Rights to photograph: 500

Sooooo it will cost more than a "typical wedding" but is the experience of being married at Cedar Point worth about a 1500 - 2000 dollar increase in price? Some say the Disney Wedding is worth the larger price, even though you only get to take a limited number of people (for the smaller more affordable ceremony).
