Some food questions

Featured Replies

Is the buffet still around? I was looking at KI's website and couldn't find it.

Also, has anyone had the fudge at the International Street Fudge & Candy Shop? I always think it looks good, but I never get it. Is it worth it?

The location in Rivertown that used to house a buffet is now a full-service restaurant, the Reds Hall of Fame Grille. Many find it to be the best food value in the park; prices are comparable to similar restaurants outside the park.

It has been over a decade since I last ate fudge at Kings Island. Or anywhere, for that matter. I'm sure you'll get an answer on that question soon.

I see, thanks for the response! I'll have to check out that restaurant when I go.

If you like fudge, Boddah in a different thread mentioned a new 'fudge pop' type confection sold at the park this year. They look good and the prices are right. I may check them out when I take my kids there on Sunday.

The "slice" of fudge is still a better deal - get a large slab of fudge for $6.99. They also give you a free slice if you buy 2.

Thanks for all the answers! I think this is the year when I finally buy fudge from there (if I have time on the way out.) :)

Backyard BBQ kind of quietly disappeared this year.

I was wondering if it was still on or not. Hadn't noticed anything posted about it.

We switched over to it after they ditched the Buffet. I have a few picky eaters and having the options at the buffet fit everyone. The BYBBQ sort of took its place but mainly won them over for the Ice Cream Deserts.

Now that we have the season long dining plan, we probably wouldn't have gone to it much anyway. I think they would have gotten more people eating it had it opened a bit earlier in the day.

When you go to Red's Grill you must try the hotdog with chilli and cheese, one of the best hotdogs I have ever ate.

I'm planning on going to CedarPoint this next week and wondere if i buy a "souvenir sports cup" if you could use that for the free refills and the 99 cent refills at the Coke Freestyle places? Does anyone know?

^ Cedar Point was allowing souvenir cup refills at the Coca-Cola Freestyle locations a week ago Tuesday. They also allowed me to get water there, which they specifically forbade me from doing last season.

Keep in mind that only 2014 Cedar Point souvenir cups qualify for $0.99 refills at Cedar Point. A cashier might accept a 2014 Kings Island cup, but (as I understand it) they're not supposed to. 2013 (or earlier) cups do not qualify.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. No mention as to whether the Backyard BBQ is a thing this year or not. I'll ask and get back to you on that.

With the All day dining plan option, wondering if they will have the Haunt Buffet picnic like last year also.

Guess it vanished off the menu. Kind of sad, since KD, CW, and CP got a version of it.
