Tuesday, June 10th: We drove the remaining four hours to our oceanfront Holiday Inn Express in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We got the corner room on the top floor, so things were going pretty well. After getting settled in, we rode Rudee Rocket, a speedboat ride. Then we played on the beach until 10:00 PM. Then we walked on the boardwalk and found a free telescope viewing party. We saw Saturn, Mars, the Moon, and a galaxy whose name I cannot remember.

Wednesday, June 11th: We woke up and drove to Ocean Breeze Waterpark. We had a great time there, and there were no lines, so we got to do everything. My favorite thing was Neptune's Revenge, the new tube slide complex opened in 2010, which features two attractions similar to Triple Twist at Great Wolf Lodge, a traditional "toilet bowl", and a tube slide. The park also featured a "body slide bowl", some drop slides, tube slides, and a tube chute reminiscent of Schlitterbahn. The rankings for this park goes:

1. Earth Shaker

2. Trident

3. The Vortex

4. The Hurricane

5. Pirates' Plummet

After that, we rented bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk, then got Ben & Jerry's.

Thursday, June 12th: Today we would be moving to the Hampton Inn in Historic Williamsburg. We left for Water Country USA at around 11:00 AM. The lineup of slides there is very nice, and you could see there was well-thought-out landscaping. There was Terpy's Rampage, a unique and fun slide. Vanish Point was amazing, with slides that send you from a SkyBOX into a SuperLOOP, and slides that were the traditional straight down body slide. But the thing that was most impressive was the family slides. Colossal Curl was probably my favorite there, with an abundance of airtime. You fly out of your seat on the TornadoWAVE and the drop into it. A tip for riders seeking maximum airtime is to lift your feet up on the drop and ensuring TornadoWAVE. AquaZoid and Big Daddy Falls were some of the best."family raft rides" I have every been on. The rankings for this park goes:

1. Colossal Curl

2. Vanish Point

3. Rampage

4. AquaZoid

5. Big Daddy Falls

Friday, June 13th: This was my favorite day. We went to Kings Dominion, and boy was I not disappointed. Intimidator 305 is now my new favorite coaster. It's just fantastic. Yes, the ride that made me get tunnel vision the first time is my favorite. The second time I sat next to a nice man that told me to hyperventilate during the high g-force moments. That helped a lot, and made for a much more enjoyable experience (not that the first one wasn't). I talked to a guy in line for Flight of Fear's front row that was on a trip that went to Carowinds on Thursday the 12th, Kings Dominion on Friday the 13th, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Saturday the 14th. I wanted to see if that was one of you. Anyways, back on topic. Volcano wasn't to be missed either. It did it for me, just like it did it for Terpy. Dominator was great as well, and Kings Island needs a floorless coaster. The Crypt was exhilarating, and was one of the best rides there. I loved Shockwave much more than I thought I would. Overall, slightly better than Kings Island. The rankings for this park is:

1. Intimidator 305

2. Volcano, The Blast Coaster

3. Dominator

4. The Crypt

5. Flight of Fear

Saturday, June 14th: Today we went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Since there are not as many thrill rides here (but the ones they do have are top-notch), I will review each coaster individually, plus Escape From Pompeii, Europe in the Air, Curse of DarKastle, and Mäch Tower.

Apollo's Chariot: The hated-on hypercoaster from Busch Gardens is very fun. I prefer it to Diamondback because the twists and turns, and for me I got more airtime. I love the turnaround helix. I just wish it were longer. 4/5

Alpengeist: This is now my favorite B&M Invert (sorry Banshee). Row 8 is amazing. It just whips you through those elements like nobody's business. I prefer the quick, rapid elements to larger, drawn out ones, so that is a factor. Overall, one of my favorite coasters. 4.5/5

Griffon: Absolutely wonderful. Front Row, Left End is the way to go. Griffon has the highest airtime percentage of any coaster I have ever been on. The first drop is magical. Just too short to be one of my top five. 4.5/5

Loch Ness Monster: This is my favorite Arrow Looper of all time. It is just so much more scenic and picturesque than any of the others I have been on. It isn't focused just on going upside down, it wants to be a great ride, and does so. Incredibly underrated. 4.5/5

Verbolten: What can I say about this ride? One word -- Unique. This coaster is the most unique I have ever been on. With incredible theming, and a vertical drop, this ride is a winner. Zierer has finally produced a world-class coaster. Like most of the coasters here, I wish it were longer. 4.5/5

Escape From Pompeii: One of the best water rides I have been on in a long time. It is amazing what it can accomplished inside the building. Fire, more fire, and more fire, plus falling statues and whatnot. A very thrilling first-time experience, but then it kind of loses its umph. 4/5

Europe in the Air: You will enjoy this simulator much more if you do not expect Soarin' Over California. It is very different. The transitions are quick and rough, and there is no front row view for everyone, and no smells. It makes many older guests nauseous, so beware. 2.5/5

Curse of DarKastle: Like many of the rides here, it is unique. My favorite dark ride of all time. It is not to be missed. Kings Island needs something like this a more mature dark ride. The 3D is phenomenal, and very lifelike. You will find yourself ducking for cover against spears and whatnot. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. 4.5/5

Mäch Tower: A Big Droppy Thing. Nothing more to be said. 3.5/5

Rankings for this park is:

1. Griffon

2. Alpengeist

3. Verbolten

4. Curse of DarKastle

5. Loch Ness Monster

I'm sure I'll enjoy it thoroughly I've watched plenty of vids and watched reviews it seems like a fantastic coaster. I will still miss BBW, it was the best Arrow Suspended out there IMO. Now Bat holds that title, nothing wrong with that, but BBW's drop into the Rhine..beautifully fantastic.

I just hope I get the Forest or Wolf theme, not the storm, doesn't look as spectacular at least on video.

I agree, not trying to be mean but BB7 has only been on here for 2 months and has nearly 3 times as many posts as me. I have been a member for 10 months.

Agree, I am always tentative to post something unless it is going to make a contribution to the conversation. My assumption would be BB7 see's people with 4,000+ posts and wants to be in the cool kids club. :) Don't worry, you'll get there buddy, at my rate it'll take me about 10 years lol

You should have been around Kings Island during the first few years it was open. It was almost commonplace that it was down at least once a visit for me, often for the whole day. At least, unlike a few other Paramount additions, it managed to work out its kinks.
