BoddaH1994 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Plus if they're close (by date) then those from out of town can do both. But yeah, big event are at the beginning and end of the season for the reasons mentioned above. 5 Quote
DonHelbig Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 ^ Why do they schedule so many things in such proximity? No matter when an event might be scheduled there are going to be conflicts, whether it's an event at another park, a coaster club conference. charity riding event, or park operating hours (difficult to offer ERT on days the park closes at midnight). 14 Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I remember when HoliWood Nights and Coastermania ended up on the same day. People were upset that they had to choose. Hash tag first world problems. 11 Quote
jdf21972 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I just cannot wait to find out more details about this event. KI stepping up it's game 2 Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 A little more information has been added. Approved clubs: American Coaster EnthusiastsClub Theme Park ReviewCoasterBuzz ClubCoaster Crew PlatinumGreat Ohio Coaster ClubEuropean Coaster ClubRoller Coaster Club of Great BritainClub de Fans de Montanas (Mexico) The only thing to note is that for Coaster Crew members, you'll have to be a Platinum member or above. This was done to make the pricing more similar among the clubs, with the exception of ACE. For those who joined for media day, you'll be up for renewal before this event so just remember to choose the Platinum option when you renew. Tickets to CoasterStock are going on sale in January. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Coasterstock-at-Kings-Island 5 Quote
APE Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I most likely will not be able to attend since the new little one will arrive mid April. 8 Quote

APE Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Thank you for understanding. We looked forward to this as well as the Holiday World event they put on. Some things are more important though. Sounds like we are taking the year off from parks next year. 2 Quote
Oldschool75 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Yeah just realized when I renewed my CoasterCrew membership for 2 years; I didn't select the platinum. Whoops! Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system. Quote
marth555 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Im gonna have to join GOCC for this and holiwood nights Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Yeah just realized when I renewed my CoasterCrew membership for 2 years; I didn't select the platinum. Whoops! Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system. If any of you have this issue, or are wanting to purchase a Coaster Crew membership, hold off for the moment. There will be an option to upgrade and the tiers are going to be streamlined. That, however, is their announcement to make. 4 Quote
coasterboysfne Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Appreciate your patience guys, we will have all membership info set by the time registration opens for Coasterstock! 4 Quote

BB1 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 January is here, tix go on sale soon as per the site. Probably will be attending if the calendar lines up. Can't wait for some good ole Beast ERT! 1 Quote
Oldschool75 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yeah I've been checking every day to sign up. Remember folks in Coaster Crew, you need to be a platinum member. I know membership changed to all platinum now, but you need to pay the difference to upgrade to the platinum if you are still a standard member. 4 Quote
TimeMachine Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Haven't seen an update on this in a while, but if we're interested, is there any kind of KIC discount for Coaster CREW membership this year? And how would we go about signing up? (Specifically for the Platinum Membership) Quote
Oldschool75 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Edit*** Sorry I might haveisunderstood what I was told, but you do need to be a platinum member to be able to attend CoasterStock. I would check with Tim to see if this has to be done before tickets go on sale. The upgrade is easy, just go to the site and act as if you are joining. Just select the platinum option and enter your member id. It will give you the costn of the upgrade. Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 What's your source on that info? It's the first I've heard it mentioned and it doesn't say anything on KI's Coasterstock page. I'm out too if it's true. I am a Coaster Crew member, but the platinum was only recently added and I hadn't gotten around to upgrading yet (in part because I haven't seen a clear way to do so yet, only to join at platinum, not upgrade a current membership). Edited: I see they have added it as an option now to the coastercrew.net website if anyone else needs to upgrade to platinum. Going to do that tonight. If I get blocked out of Coasterstock for being 20 days past an unpublished deadline, I'll be a little annoyed, but I can deal. Quote
jdf21972 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 So looking forward to Coasterstock and also saw Color Me Rad race will be held at Kings Island Saturday May 16 from 7:30-11 in their parking lot by Soak City and encompasses the parking lot for runners and surrounding area. They will get ERT on that day also at 9:30. I love this event and wish I could attend but roller coasters rule. Quote
Oldschool75 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Don't take me on that yet.I don't believe it was January 1 but I believe it was so many days before an event. Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I'm curious as to what price range the tickets will be around.... ....And I still haven't upgraded my CoasterCrew membership, I hope tomorrow isn't too late! 1 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I suggest doing the upgrade in the next couple of weeks. We will get an official date from the park that the memberships be valid by. At the very latest, I'd suggest by the end of February. 1 Quote

At the very latest, I'd suggest by the end of February. Individuals that purchase Coasterstock tickets will need to present an active, valid membership card from the coaster club/organization they selected on the registration form. Now is the time to upgrade or join a coaster club/organization to ensure your membership card is in your hands by the date of the event. 9 Quote

jsus Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 My Cedar Point-issued Platinum Pass is not being recognized on Accesso's ticket ordering system. Don, you on here? Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I already bought mine, but once the park opens for the season (and before April 30th) will there be the ability to buy Coasterstock tickets at the gate, thus avoiding the $6 fee for the convenience of using Accesso? 3 Quote
