CoastersRZ Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Wow! I wonder what prompted him to resign? How long had he been the GM of Carowinds? Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 Since 2009. After an extensive search, his father, Mr. Dick Kinzel, Chairman, CEO and President of Cedar Fair at the time, pronounced him the most qualified candidate. Mr. Dick Kinzel's son-in-law, Tim Boals was named Corporate Vice President of Resale about this same time. Mr. Bart Kinzel resigned to pursue other opportunities. 6 Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Dorney Park is a breeding ground for Cedar Fair GM's. I must go there. 11 Quote
Hoeter Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Fehnel replaces Bart Kinzel, who resigned earlier this month. I was at Carowinds for the first time ever at the beginning of this month. Look what me, LoraX, Princess Sparkles and company did! We scared him off and we scared all the nickels out of his pockets! Andrew, who just HAD to... 9 Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Mr. Bart Kinzel resigned to pursue other opportunities.Yeah, let's go with that story. 8 Quote
bkroz Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Still cracks me up. One of those stories that'll go down in amusement park history. 1 Quote
homestar92 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Perhaps it's time to resurrect my #BringTheEaglesHome hashtag... Even though I know fully well it won't help anything and Kinzel has nothing to do with those being gone... But with new management comes new hopes and possibilities, right? Right? 3 Quote

Would it be on the new general manager's list of priorities to export a beloved ride from his own park, back to its park of origin as a gesture of good will? Hmmm... Probably not. 6 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Mr. Fehnel didn't even get a full season at Dorney as GM/VP under his belt loop. 1 Quote
LongliveKingsCobra Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Ohhh I love when high up execs get fired or highly pressured to leave and they always spin it as: "Resigned to pursue other options" more like "Kicked out because the with is dead" 2 Quote
KIFan1 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I wonder who will be the new GM of Dorney Park? Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 If Tim Boals is replaced soon too then we can guess what happened. 1 Quote
WOF Guy Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 ^^Brad Marcy is now GM of Dorney Park. ^Tim Boals was reassigned last August (to focus on merch/games exclusively at Cedar Point). A former Disney executive now heads the corporate merchandise office. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 That was last August...this is now....uh, this August? 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 Tim Boals last tweet here was 30 July: https://mobile.twitter.com/boalstim I wonder.... 1 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Considering he's only tweeted 12 times since February of last year, I wouldn't take that to mean much of anything. He retweeted that particular tweet because he's in that picture (front right in the blue shirt - I know this only because he's got a picture of himself on his LinkedIn profile as well). 2 Quote
