kingsislandfan1972
I was at Kings Island today, and noticed that not everything in the Totally 80s store was from the 80s, the had shows such as I Love Lucy, The Flintstones, and even Bride of Chucky, has anybody else noticed anything else that wasnt from the 80s in the store?

Thrill_Biscuit
The price of a game of "Galaga". It's only a quarter; but in 1981, most "new" video games in the arcades at Kings Island required 3 quarters to play!
BoddaH1994
The store is a representation of things that were popular in the 80's. Things like Star Wars, the movie "Child's Play," etc were all very poplar during that era. Also, cable TV came to popularity and rekindled popular shows such as "I Love Lucy" with the introduction of syndication in television. So the intention of the store isn't solely to sell products from 1980-1989, it's a representation of popular culture in the 1980's.
CoasterOhio
Not only that, but everything wasn't made from the 80's either I mean, you have to make that stuff somewhere.
LoraX
Maybe some of the focus for people totally in their '80's?

TriumphBonneville
My complaint about the 80s store was they had nothing in men's sizes. The biggest I saw in there was large. If they're going to sell retro 80s gear, how about stocking some sizes for middle aged guys like myself that were not only alive in the 80s, but remember all the things being sold. Just some extra large stuff would be a good start.
RadioRiders
Yes the prices are definitely not from the 80's! Outrageous!!

That's information that they like to know.
TriumphBonneville
I appreciate that. I found a couple of t shirts I would have purchased, but not one shirt in my size. And I am not an odd sized, difficult to fit individual.
BoddaH1994
PM me exactly what you're looking for and I'll help you go through the right channels to get what you want. Those stores are like any other store: they may not have your size or it's quite possible that it just wasn't on the shelf at the time.
KIfan73
That Galaga game is a real gem. I played that a ton back in the 80s. Only a quarter, and no line. I played it for about 20 minutes for one quarter last summer...talk about an 80s flashback!
upstop
My friend and I practically knocked each other down trying to get to Galaga to play it....LOL

upstop
^^ One of the best teen movies ever made - it still even represents a microcosm of teenage life with just about every teen group represented. I loved the John Hughes movies of the 80's.

Thrill_Biscuit
I can envision the 90's store... The Mrs. Pac Man/Galaga game would be replaced with "Mortal Kombat," the Breakfast Club shirts would give way to "Scream" and "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" apparel; Cyndi Lauper and Depeche Mode music would become Nirvana, Korn and Mariah Carey, Rubik's Cubes would be replaced with POGs and Furbys..."Friends," "Jurassic Park," and "Seinfeld" posters everywhere!!! Aaaaagh... time marches on.
MDMC01
When will they ever bring the 90s to KI (the store & International Showplace)?! A 90's store would be amazing!!!! -MDMC, a huge fan of the 90's EDIT/NOTE: I think they should have the 90's stuff in addition to the 80's store and show as the 80's are super popular.
kingsislandfan1972
The posters are around 7 to 8 dollars I think, if you have a gold card I believe its 10% off all merchandise.

Maybe combine Thrill Seekers and 80's and have a nostalgic store with sections for the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. Imagine the possibilities.
The Interpreter
Would seem to be a limited market. Few in their 90's go to the park. Terp, running for the exit (and looking for the 60's store preview)

Thrill_Biscuit
The gift shop or the food? Terp, who misses Stuckey's Stops. Pecan Log, anyone? Both! Ah! Yes! Stuckey's - I remember it well! (And the little prize machine, with the (I kid you not) 'cigarette-smoking dog' toy as one of the prizes! ) Composite based on memories of the place.
Screaming_Chicken
Seen Scooby-Doo! Stuff in the 80s store and it brought a smile to my face. The prices are unreal I could go to Wal-Mart,Kohl's or Target and get a T-Shirt cheaper.
