Im trying to figure out things from PT that are out this haunt. Bedsides the mouse in board to death and the furnace in slaughterhouse are the animatronics from PT up next to madame fatales like a few years ago when they looked like thisNPNKIHaunt+%25289%2529.JPG

There's a few props throughout Madame Fatale's as well like the cannon.

Your title gave me the idea too that they should do a maze sometime themed around the Phantom Theatre and the maestro.

Haven't made it there yet this year but just scattered throughout the gallery portion of the wax museum I have noticed a few props from it. That's where I've seen the cannon too. not sure if any got moved or not though.

I have pictures of the old gang from the Phantom Theatre from October 2011 in Coney Mall across from the arcade, I took pictures of them and put them on my Facebook, I should upload them on here if anybody would like to see.

I believe some "flash powder" barrels from the ride were/are in Tombstone Terror-tory. I haven't had the chance to check that one out yet this year though, so I don't know if they're still around.

Thanks y'all for the information I really appreciate it. I was never able to get a picture of the animatronics when Phantom Theater was still open and I didn't go to haunt regularly until a couple of years ago when I didn't know they where out there. I do have pictures of the Maestro's balcony and the faces in the hallway along with a picture of me in front of the Phantom Theater building back in 2002 the last time I rode it before they closed it down which I will post on my wall. Thanks again

Yes it is, I really wish Kings Island would use the animatronics on either a maze or on boo blasters I think putting the Maestro back in the balcony would really add to the whole haunted house theme and the animatronics are really cool and unique to Kings Island

Well between Boo Blasters and Scooby Doo it has been almost 12 years? Essentially its the same ride as the one it replaced (Scooby) just with less theme?

I will say this, on Sunday I really realized how much KI is missing a family dark ride. My son cannot shoot anything (he is 1) and the ride is a very generic shoot-em-up ride. I dont think we need to get a "thrill" dark ride with a bunch of movement, as then that would ruin the family aspect for the youngins.

TBH something like the original Theater or the Smurf Ride (didnt ride it before the Smurfs) where the ride is enjoyed by many of all ages.

^I would respond to how much I agree with this statement, but I have done so in just about every other thread and I'm afraid that it's starting to get redunde...

...oh heck, I 100% agree with this statement! :D

You know the more I ride BBoBH the more sad I get. Having never ridden it as Scooby it's just a guess but the current ride is just heap looking. You can see it parts where it's still Scooby Doo without Scooby. Heck the cars are still painted to resemble mystery machines.

Not to mention that the ride still follows the same exact path as Phantom. So not only do we get to endure a poorly done rehab of a ride, those of us who logged hundreds (if not thousands) of laps with the Phantom can close our eyes and still feel/see/hear/smell the original.

Step right this way, libel now..... Watch out for the furnace crew..... Look at the wonderful play going on.....

Man I'm not sure why but it really hit me this weekend while watching. Phantom (and Smurf before it) was a unique ride that really helped cement KI for me as a child. I look at Boo Blasters and I just don't see it for my son or anyone else. It's a fun competition ride, and my wife absolutely loves it. But for me...... Meh.... Now get off my lawn, this old guy has to get back to his stories.

As someone who never had the chance to enjoy Phantom Theater, was it actually a great ride or is it just the nostalgia and rose colored glasses that makes everyone crazy about it? Be honest.

It was truly Disneyesque.

Themingwise, no higher praise can I award.

Its removal was one of the saddest decisions

the park ever made. In retrospect, it was a truly stupid decision.

The same thing can be said of Enchanted Voyage.

On a lesser scale for different reasons, also the removals of the Flying Eagles, Zodiac, Antique Cars and Kenton's Cove: Keelboat Canal. At least the last mentioned wasn't of the original flume from Coney Island of Ohio, which almost happened.

I remember Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle being advertised as an interactive dark ride experience. Everyone thought that was the coolest idea ever. Then they rode it...

Boo stinks, but it's not nearly as bad as Scooby was. At least you can ride it and not be ashamed to be there.

As others have stated it was really a great ride. You knew the story because the ride actually told a story. The animatronics interacted with the guests and each other. There were sight gags and moments where they tried to scare you.

The music that played along with the ride set the tone. Even the Phantom that met you was unique and added to the theme.

Yes very Disneyesque. Like Disney, the experience started the moment you entered the indoor queue. Now that room is nothing but an empty shell with TVs none the less. I still can not figure out why they keep those 3D looking busts covered up in the hallway back to the loading station. That was a neat effect that could still be used with the current ride.
