3 new trademarks registered by Cedar Fair

Featured Replies

Run and Ride looks like some kind of awareness or fund raising event possibly.

Voyage to the Iron Reef could be a ride (not sure what) with souvenirs to go with it.

^^ could very well be just that or maybe a watercoaster of some kind. Plus it looks like there are umbrella souvenirs and storage bags on the list as well.

I was just reading under the words that describe Back Yard Ball. Words that caught my eye are outdoor, sports, competitions, tournaments.

Possibly a basketball tournament. 3 on 3?

Its to see who can annoy the most park guests by bouncing bastketballs

When I saw that there was a trademark for "Voyage to the Iron Reef", I thought it could be a new 3D movie. When I actually went to the site where the trademark is and saw all its applicable uses, I thought it could possibly an event of some sort (I don't what kind of event though). However, it could also be a ride.

Backyard Ball:

Amusement park services; and entertainment services namely, promoting and conducting various outdoor sports competitions, tournaments

A sports tournament? A game?

If it's a midway game, why trademark it?

As far as I'm concerned, make an area strictly for bouncing basketballs - and they can call it whatever they want - and get a trademark for it, too! Then, keep those f**king balls out of the park and out of my way before they cause a migraine or, worse yet, a fall!

A basketball tournament to be held on the 3-Point Challenge court?

A formal dance located in the Picnic Grove?

Backyard Ball....

a place behind the park where parents take their little ones to cry.

.a chapel-like building on picnic grounds, usually used for weddings where the ceremony makes you weepy.

the VERY FIRST outdoor area, in back of the park. where couples can go to make-out during their visit to said park.

......Cedar Fair's version of Bocce.

Maybe it has something to do with the refurb of the picnic groves.

I can't find the link for the life of me, but it was mentioned somewhere online that Cedar Fair and Triotech (may be? are?) making an announcement towards the beginning of the week of IAAPA. Hmm...

It's IAAPA... Isn't one of the bigger points of the thing to be the biggest diversion of the show? :)

Is it too late to go to IAAPA? I don't know how it works. Can I just show up?

I don't think so. In fact, I thought going was part of the program you are in down there. Ask around. Normally, one attends as part of an organization, as an IAAPA member, as a vendor, etc. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. It's typically been much more expensive to register at the event.

If you just want to explore the show floor I'd recommend getting discounted admission for Thursday/Friday.

^ Is there a reason the admission is less on Thursday and Friday, apart from it just being the end of the week? I'm just curious because I didn't know they did discount admission towards the end of the week.

Yes. The real negotiations and buying takes place early. A lot of the movers and shakers are gone by Thursday. You can't network with people who aren't there....

Looks like it won't be a "roller coaster" dark ride, thank goodness.

Remember what seems to happen when other CF parks get similar rides year-after-year? *crosses fingers for the future*

That looks so cool; I think that would definitely ride this if I ever went to Knott's! :D
