teenageninja Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Could be Splintercat or it could be a diversion. It was posted on Don's twitter, not KIPR. Also, the reason that construction workers are allowed in the areas near DB while it is running is they are supposed to be wearing hard hats, as it is a hard hat area, not a restricted one, and have likely received some sort of site safety training. 13 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Pretty sure that Don is messing with us about the Splintrcat, it was his personal account, not work account, and if they were using the name they would have their own artwork done for it. But others are free to believe otherwise. It's all very exciting, either way! 19 Quote
WailsLikeABanshee Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Oh look. It's Don. Sent from my LGL33L using Tapatalk 25 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 For a second there, I thought it was Battle Cat from "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!" 7 Quote
PiperArcher Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 As per the RCDB, the fastest "wood" coaster is Lightning Rod at Dollywood which goes 73mph. I could see that record being the easiest to break. Edit: I should say, fastest non defunct wooden coaster. 8 Quote
ThatGuy11 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 So, Yo Adrian, the Blue Engine is Key, Roll Out the Barrel, you'll need this ax, Bears on Beds on a football field, and they'll definitely come, all points to "Splintercat." Wow. Who knew? I know right. Could still be good clues though. The barrels could indicate barrel rolls. I don't know but can't wait to find out! ^^^^ to the guy who doesn't like the name did you read about the splintercat yet? Sent from the future while riding #KIProject2017 using Tapatalk As a matter of fact, I did read about what a Splintercat was before I made that post. What I found did not change my opinion on the "cheesiness" of the name... Edit: With that being said, I cannot wait to see what happens at the announcement tomorrow! 6 Quote
Maverick44 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Its a diversion. I can feel it! We will be surprised!! 10 Quote
Bennett Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I could certainly see KI wanting to retake the fastest wood coaster title back, perhaps the same speed as SOB. That said, would be something to get 3500 or so feet of coaster up to 78 mph. 6 Quote
Beast Gal Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Wasn't SOB's announcement similar to this as there was a creature lurnking in a giant box? 4 Quote
THE_BEASTmaster Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Props to whoever said Splintercat first back in June! That would be yours truly, THE_BEASTmaster! Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk 9 Quote
BlondyRidesOn Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 So do we need to RSVP for the announcement, or is that just for the media? Quote
THE_BEASTmaster Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 The announcement is open to the public. Just like Banshee's announcement. Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk 3 Quote
BeastlyBanshee Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Splintercat is trademarked by another company as a name for distilled spirits. I don't know if that kills chances of that being the name or not- but I'm pretty sure it makes it unlikely. It's a cool logo though. Checked to see if any trademarks have been filed for "SplintrCat" and found nothing though. So there's that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 8 Quote
THE_BEASTmaster Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 It shouldn't affect the name for a ride. For example, Banshee is also a Yamaha four wheeler. Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk 9 Quote

I know that awesome logo is protected by the trademark though. Darn. But hey, the name may still be on the table. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 6 Quote
