Creed Bratton Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 NEW FOR 2016: Slingshot! Our new compact spinning coaster features a figure eight track with cars that spin freely throughout the ride. 16 riders will sit back-to-back in four cars themed to a racecar. https://www.facebook.com/CamdenParkWV/photos/a.111428678888567.10123.105124439518991/1208591415838949/?type=3&theater Interesting addition! I've never been to the park, but think it's awesome they're getting a new attraction. 7 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 Did you ride the same model? How many times do you go around the circuit? I've seen a few of these added as of recent (I've not been on any) but I'd love to see a longer circuit one. 2 Quote

The Interpreter Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 IAAPA ride vendor experiences are frequently not typical. The rides may be faster, longer, more intense at a show where the goal is to sell than when operated by or in a park. 5 Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 And when, pray ye, is this supposed to debut? Will Mr. Lavender be there for its "media day?" Terp, asking questions (and clutching his season pass in his hot little hands...) 1 Quote
marth555 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 At work today I saw a Camden Park shirt on a customer 2 Quote
KIBeast Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I am excited for this new addition. Another great family ride choice. Glad to see that the owners are adding yet another new attraction. This fits in well with what Camden has to offer. I would love to see them add bumper cars next to replace the old ones. 1 Quote

The Interpreter Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Oh, boy. And I WAS going to stay here this weekend. May still. I wasn't going to work tomorrow, but my boss had other plans for me! 4 Quote
freaks76 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 ^ Well, guess it will be there after this weekend, too. Freak, who seems to be grounded this weekend. Maybe. 3 Quote
KIBeast Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Happy to see it opening. Is there any lighting or anything going with this? They did such a nice job with the Rattler. 2 Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I saw a commercial for it today; it's nice they are getting additions. 3 Quote
freaks76 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 They do seem to be doin some sprucing up around the place. The redone front of the Haunted House looks really nice. There still is things that the really need to address, too. (Big wooden round fence where there 8 legged guy was, among other things.) Lookin forward to that cup of tea, though. 3 Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Camden Park had fireworks last night! wow 3 Quote
KIBeast Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Not one to spread rumors, but I have heard that this new ride is already broken down and they are waiting on a part to come from Italy 2 Quote
RollerNut Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Not one to spread rumors, but I have heard that this new ride is already broken down and they are waiting on a part to come from ItalyPark confirms on Fb that a couplng broke and hoping to reopen next week. What ride(s) did it replace? 3 Quote
freaks76 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Wouldn't surprise me. When the Rattler was installed it was down for a while. Said the manufacture shut them all down. 2 Quote
KIBeast Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Can't seem to remember the name of the ride it replaced, but it was next to the Paratrooper 1 Quote
freaks76 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 That would have been Bullseye. I hate that their havin problems with it already. 1 Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Bullseye was always my favorite ride when I went frequently. I haven't been in years, but the parking lot always looks to have a decent crowd. 1 Quote
KIBeast Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I go to Camden at least twice every year. Last year I went 3 times because one of those days was an outing that the company I worked for provided. Awesome good times. I am going this weekend and was hoping to get a spin on the new ride, but I guess that is not happening. Oh well, I'll be back there at least one more time before the summer is over. I know a lot of people complain about that park, but I have loved it since I began going as a kid back in the 80's as part of a field trip for school. Sure, I wish the owners had so much money that they could address every issue, but I will support them as long as they are open. These owners are related to the original owners who cared very much about the community and the park itself. They have made many great improvements and additions. 4 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I rode this ride at a FEC outside of Memphis. It is a fun little ride. The manufacturer (SBF/VIsa group), is also the manufacturer of River Runner, Top Spin and Fender Benders at Coney Island. 3 Quote
KIBeast Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Saw on Camden's Facebook page this morning that Slingshot is open again 1 Quote
jla Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Yes it's working. Rode it today. Whip wasn't working. 2 Quote
KIBeast Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Went to Camden Saturday with my girlfriend and her three kids Saturday. We had a great time. Slingshot was open and we rode it twice. This is a very fun coaster. I was not expecting very much and it delivered far more than I thought it would. I think the current owners have made a lot of great additions to this park. This is definitely a home run. Rode the Big Dipper twice. Love this coaster, but man the cars bouncing up and down on the track is just horrible. Wish they could rehab this classic. 6 Quote

Creed Bratton Posted July 16, 2016 Author Posted July 16, 2016 Hybrid I don't see wood on the structure with the steel track or steel structure and wooden track! This reminds me of the worlds tallest coaster video that floats around featuring Fury 325. 2 Quote
