PKI96
So I'm bored at work and was thinking of a "top 10" list. The list can be anything, no rules. BEST: 1. Beast double helix 2. Diamondback 1st drop 3. Entrance to park: initial royal fountain / tower view 4. Beast lift hill / 1st drop A nice, LONG incline up this scenic, historic ride. Gives me time to think about what to ride next, talk to my kids, maybe eat lunch, call my mother, pray a rosary or two, then off we go. Awesome! 5. Flight of Fear launch 6. Banshee’s awesome capacity Even on insanely busy days, I know I can get a ride or two in on one of the big 3 coasters. And on slow days, almost a walk on for such a world class ride is just great. 7. WindSeeker view from the top Check out ride cues, see the parking lot…similar to the IT view but with more thrill. 8. Racer / KIMV Railroad Pure nostalgia. 9. Hard working employees that care about their job Most are, and that’s a good thing that frankly you don’t see much these days. 10. People Watching. Sorry. It’s pretty amazing, can’t deny that. WORST: 1. Entrance to park: Invasion of the Photo People! No thanks…ahh, worker, you have a quota I’m sure, ok. Cheese. Look, another one! Cheese. One more…cheese. 2. KIMV Railroad Spiels / Music. The. Same. Spiels. And. Songs. Every. Ride. 3. Adventure Express ending YOU WILL PAY…or, maybe you will just exit the ride. Love AE but the ending not so much. 4. Reds HOF Grille Wait I love the Reds. I love KI. Every time I go, even on slow days, the wait is hours long. No thanks. Someday I will eat an overpriced burger with little wait, while watching my terrible local ball club! 5. SLOW ride capacity / operators at Planet Snoopy I understand the ride op’s need to take their time loading kids, and the difficulties that presents, but lines are so ridiculously slow on most rides (especially Woodstock Whirlybirds, Surf Dog, RFYLCB, Peanuts 500).
Thrill_Biscuit
Best: 1. Cirque Shows 2. Whitewater Canyon Cannons 3. Music on WindSeeker 4. Off The Charts 5. View from Eiffel Tower at night Worst: 1. Mall music on International Street (except during Christmas in July) 2. Getting bugsnakt on any ride or coaster (I know, extra protein, but eww)... 3. Fountain Lights not working... plain ugly 4. Bat queue odyssey of concrete 5. The impossible, unwinnable 3-point challenge. C'mon, man!
MDMC01
So, I feel like my post is turning into a "my favorite things about KI" list, but here goes... Best: Meeting up with KICers. Walking to The Bat/riding front seat of The Bat Blood Drums Being in the park during Haunt/watching and interacting with Scareactors Tom and Chee Grilled Cheese/Chicken Shack bread (See also LaRosas pizza and/or Starbucks) A good ride on an old classic… see Congo Falls, Scrambler, Zephyr, Vortex, Beast, etc. Adventure Express at night (or during the day with most of the effects working) Riding Banshee in the very back, 4th seat (closest to exit) Walking through Backwoods Bayou after midnight Beast during the day The drop while riding 7-2 on Vortex The Boyz are Back (oh wait… ) Riding Delirium during a heat wave! Seeing Sam at Slaughter House The rush from Drop Tower (though I have not ridden in a while) Cirque (preferably, with Yannick/Fanny and Ariel, but Cirque is/was great as is! ) Worst: Going to the food place with the fastest service as the place you really want to go to has a huge line Greying out on Vortex (not a horrible thing, but still bad...) Getting a headache when sitting in “passengers seat” after Backlot’s Helix Shakiness on Flying Ace EDITed for clarity
SonofBaconator
Best: Beast (Day or Night) Banshee (especially the scream at the top at the lights at night) Diamondback The KI&MVRR The World's Greatest Kids Area Blue Ice Cream Eiffel Tower Royal Fountains Diverse Coaster Roster Knowing that there's something for everyone Worst: The walk to The Bat No restroom in X-Base Firehawk's wait time Excruciating pain from Racer BLSC's jerkiness Photographers on I-street The fast-lane system Realizing how painful some of the older rides are, especially now that the newer ones are way smoother Fun Tvs The existence of defunct buildings that are only utilized for Haunt (It kinda looks sloppy to see the Wolf Pack props during the regular operating season)
PKI96
Some great lists, a lot of things I didn't think about or consider. I'll have to revise mine as I agree with a lot of these. Sorry if this is a tired topic...I'm a newbie.
aandjgoods
Best: -First Ride of the Season on Beast (zen) -Last ride of the season on Beast -LROTNOB in general -Daily KI&MVRR Worst: -Dining services -Not getting LROTNOB (slit), then getting escorted to DB to only not get LROTNODB. (At least I can say I rode DB in a thunderstorm)
MaestroJr
Best things are The Beast, Banshee, and all great coasters! Fountains and Eiffel Tower Park atmosphere and skyline Racer and older rides nostalgia Short waits usually Good Food Memories Bad things are: Long Bat queue to walk for a 10 minute wait Fun TV's in Boo Blasters Boo Blasters guns and props not working every year Opening photographers and annoying game people Ridiculous wait for Firehawk and Flight of Fear All three visits I made had The Beast and Vortex closed for most of the day, always a bummer! And thats about it.
medford
So I'm bored at work and was thinking of a "top 10" list. The list can be anything, no rules. 4. Reds HOF Grille Wait I love the Reds. I love KI. Every time I go, even on slow days, the wait is hours long. No thanks. Someday I will eat an overpriced burger with little wait, while watching my terrible local ball club! If you've never been, the burger, nor any of their food is terribly overpriced. The pricing at RHOFG is fairly comparable to what you would expect to pay at most casual sit down joints anywhere in the country. Considering the pricing of most of the other food in the park, its a pretty good value relatively speaking. I've never had much trouble getting a seat, but the service at times can be very slow.
Gannersdaddy
Awesome 1) Waking my son up with a morning ERT on Diamondback 2) Diamondback night rides on a moonless night 3) Preview night after a long winter 4) A summer rain shower that lasts just long enough to cool things down and thin out the crowds 5) When the park stays open until 1AM during Haunt 6) How nice and polite everyone is on Pride Night Best 7) Beast rides at night in a middle seat 8) Blood Drums 9) The Garden Park 10) The transformed tower at Haunt Worst 1) Food line ques blocking the travel lanes 2) People who can not decide what they want to eat when they get to the front of the line 3) A lack of trays at Hanks, Skyline, etc 4) Food service at the beginning of the year 5) Line jumpers (did not seem as bad this last year though) 6) Cell phones / camera being used on the rides and nothing being done about it 7) Boo Blasters guns not working 8) When the park becomes a basketball court 9) When folks can follow "Seat Belt then Lapbar" which becomes "Up on #" 10) The round the curve to see what lanes I can use of the entry gate

Good to know, thanks for the insight. I must have just hit it at bad times. Will try to give it a shot in 2017!
