Didn't the animation have the top sort of leveling out a bit? It doesn't look like it does that here. Animations are animations. Remember Twisted Cyclone? They ended up adding more elements than planned. The helix might not be that sort of leveling you saw. Heck, we don't know if they will add more elements or not! (That will 99.9999% won't happen though.) 3

I saw that about 3 or 4 days ago but thought it would be strange if they had the trains just sitting out like that. I’m sure the trains are under lock and key away from where an eagle eyed enthusiasts might spot it with the webcam. I’d also guess they want to keep them nice for media to take pictures of when they finally get mounted on the track. Also here is that from behind shot of the helix. 6 1

It doesn’t look as y’all in the layout so that was a pleasant surprise.
Klabergian Empire Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Meanwhile in the Orion construction thread.... (context: I just came from The Vortex Removal thread) 1 2
TheFloppyDisc Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Yeah it's kind of quite in here today XD
Born_in_'72 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Looks like they are going to have to jockey some cranes around again. I don't think they can do anymore of the helix with BY in there...... 1

Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Yeah i see the tarps / plastic. Is this re tracking or painting? Or something else like just checking bolts? 1

Also they wouldn't leave the trains outside to get tore up from the winter weather.

The hill with the tarps on it has an emergency lift hill on it. To my knowledge, its rarely used during regular operation. but there are anti-rollbacks on that hill as well as the turn around and right before the brake run. 1

Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Not much work getting done now lol ** Edit - Big Yellow and cherry pickers are awake! Big Yellow heading out of the helix to start on the exit of the helix. Edie x 2 - Welp nvm they lowered BY and did nothing lol
Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 And just like that...............big yellow is gone. just saw it driving on outta there. 3
LovinMeSomeBanshee Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Looks like they only needed Big Yellow to do the highest portion of the helix. 1
Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Welcome back Cleo! haha Moving to helix now. 1
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Wait so we are calling this yellow crane big yellow? So we have T-bone and Big Yellow? 2

Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Big Yellow is now gone. Cleo is back to manning the helix area. It now seems T-Bone has another support up. It hiding behind a lift hill support now. 1
TheFloppyDisc Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Only three supports left after this one! 3
Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Cleo is starting to raise. May see more track in place soon. 1
LovinMeSomeBanshee Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Another support going in behind the hill. 1
Maverick44 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Cleo looks to be connecting to a section of track already installed. Would they remove a section in order to complete the helix? Maybe my eyes are just wrong haha 1
