January 1, 200521 yr First of all, I just scanned this picture in from a Roller Coaster book I got for Christmas. Can you guess what was just taken out from the center of the pic? Whats about to go there? And what are the people at the bottom of the picture standing in line for? I know....do you? Yes, the pic is a little dirty looking, but I think you should make it out. Click here for the pic!
January 1, 200521 yr I'm going to say that's the line for The Bat, but I dunno what year this pic is from.
January 1, 200521 yr It looks like they are about to put Flight Commander in, I'm not sure what was there before that. I'd also say that is probably the line for The Vortex.
January 1, 200521 yr Its the line for The Beast because back then there crew wasnt very good and they were slow but with The Beast crew 04 workin that line would be gonein no time!
January 1, 200521 yr I think that is where the old ferris wheel use to be. It was like the one that Hershey Park just took out. I think it's name was the Zodiac? -Jake
January 1, 200521 yr TOMB RAIDER???? It did not exist then. Mod Edit: Lay off the flame thrower, he was only making a joke. Edited January 1, 200521 yr by Dan
January 1, 200521 yr Yes, they are waiting for The Vortex. How do I know? You can clearly see the line for the Zephyer on the left. The Zephyer was built in 1986, after The Bat had already been dismanteled. Yes, the Zodiac was the name of the double ferris wheel made by Intamin. Zodiac was built in 1975. According to my information, the ride was SBNO the entire 1987-1989 seasons before being removed after the 1989 season. So it has to be Vortex. Although with the lenght of the line I think my information might be wrong and that they removed it in 1987, which is why the line would be so long. Either that or it was one BUSY day!
January 1, 200521 yr Author Well, my GUESS is that it is the line for The Vortex. That was where Zodiac use to sit, you can see the 2 circle cement pads plus the que for it as well! That thing use to scare the heck out of me!! (the zodiac. not the votex!)
January 2, 200521 yr That, my friends, is a pic from the short span between the slide and the Zephyr.
January 2, 200521 yr Are you sure that the Zephyr was not in that picture. If you look to the left of the Skeeball building it appears as if there is a sign for a ride, in almost the exact spot as where Zephyr`s resides. Also, it appears as if people are entering underneath the sign into some sort of line. Maybe I`m completely wrong.
January 2, 200521 yr yes they are waiting in line for Vortex, I remember having to wait that long back then.

January 2, 200521 yr that is amazing, i would have guessed Flying Carpets, and Zephyr and Bat, but a> huge line for painful ride with problems b> double loading pads c> zephyr's queue was oriented a different direction d> sign above queue entrance e> skeeball is next to zephyr, and it sits to the right of it, not left, there was a path and some games We can rule out The 'Tiques, the building is not near that line, ther is a curve away, and would be in the center of that line, and since that ride would be hmm... So I say Zodiac which was replaced by Flight Commander which was replaced by EuroBungee which was taken out... Plus when Zodiac was taken out, Vortex was in, as stated previously, ZODIAC; FLIGHT COMMANDER; Vortex
January 2, 200521 yr I like the way the old mid-way. They need a new ride in that area of the Zodiac soon.
January 2, 200521 yr Legend Rider. I am confused by your post. Zephyr still resides at the park today in the form of the Zierer swing ride and it is located to the left of the Skeeball building. It resides on the former location of the slide. That pad to the right of the Skeeball building is the former location of the Zodiac, before Flight Commander was installed in 1990. Yes, you have the history of the Zodiac, Flight Commander, Eurobungee correct. Although, the Coney Mall midway did not originallygo past the Flight of Fear/Zephy exit path down by The Vortex and continue onto Rivertown. Coney Mall originally ended at the Tiques and slide. But in 1975, the park built the new midway that connects Rivertown with Coney Mall when they also built the Zodiac and Shake, Rattle and Roll.
