Nickelodeon Parade

I recently read that PKI will have a Nickelodeon parade this year. Does anyone have any details? For example, where will it be held? Who will the grand marshall be? Will there be any floats or just marchers? Which characters will be in the parade?

Have a great day!

My fiance and I are psyched about this one. I always thought they should have a Disney style parade everyday. I think this shows they really are comitted to becoming a "Hollywood" park. I think within the next few years Geauga Lake will be the new Kings Island and PKI will be the northern version of Disney or Universal.

Expect floats, marchers, constumes and such. There will be music aswell. The Parade starts at PKIUniverity behind The Beastie, It travels through HB and makes a left right before Nick Central. There, it exits HB by the Lost Kid place and International Showplace, where it will make a right and another right at the clock. It travels infront of the newly renovated LaRosa's Rivertown Pizza, and than a left to go through the gates by The Beast enterance. There it will have to truck it all the way around BB and start at PKIUniversity again. (And you wonder why its only twice a day :P )

The parade sounds like lots of fun. I plan to attend with Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and our video recorder. Mrs. Chef and I attended Disney parades in Disney's Florida, Calfornia, and Japanese parks - and really enjoyed them. Additionally, I attended the Lotte World parade in South Korea.

The Nickelodeon Parade should be very cool! I hope that it'll be an annual tradition.

Have a great day!

That is a huge statement. Perhaps in 10-15 years, but not a few.

Unless PKI puts in some big bucks- like about $100 million- to be considered in the class of Disney of Universal.

I guess that I should explain my thinking. Right now PKI is really just a top of the line coaster park. However, I think with this recent shift toward family experiences (Scooby, Sponge Bob 3-D, Boomerang Bay, and the Nick Parade), better theming (TR:TR is a prime example), and better shows (The magic and stunt shows last year and the movie show this year) I think that PKI will become more than just a world class coaster park. I think it's going to become more of an all-inclusive park that centers more on the experince of being there and being in the movies rather than on building the biggest coaster.

very well said. I believe these past few seasons have really helped PKI because now tons of people have different views on this park then other parks nationwide. It really is a different experience from other Paramount parks, and is more enioyable then most. I definitely see this park being recognized more in the future.

I hope they dont use robotic or computer driven floats, we don't want anyone to die. :P

(Backstory, resently there was a Disney employee ran over by one of their computer driven floats. How it malfunctioded or how stupid the person was to get hit by a alow *** float is not known.)

I can't wait for the Nickelodeon parade! I bet that SpongeBob SquarePants will be the Grand Marshall. Probably each float will be modeled after a Nickelodeon cartoon. We'll have to wait and see.

Have a great weekend!

Please don't make light of such a situation.

The reason why it malfunctioned is because the floats a Disney parks run on e-tracks and for some reason, it went off of it. Why did he get run over? Who knows. Maybe he was standing right next to it and it knocked him over immediately. I really can't say, I wasn't there.

I believe all the floats are operated by people. Embedded in the pavement are little RF modules called pucks that communicate with the parade control computer, also known as "pageant." It synchronizes all of the music with it's float and makes sure it is in the correct location in relation to the other floats. They can tell whether or not a float is moving too fast or too slow. Maybe there was a malfunction with the float drivesystem or miscommunication with parade control. Who knows.

I know there are new floats and they probably got rid of some too. It's going to be a pretty neat show this year! I hope we have as much fun as we did last year with it. We have a totally awsome entertainment staff who really put in 110%, that is why it went so well. Those guys and gals don't really get enough credit, so Cheers to them! Hope you do well again this year, you rock!
