Captain Nemo Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 http://www.pki.com/news/photo_gallery.cfm?item_id=114 PKI.com has updated with new pics of IJST and it's looking good! Also their media center has gotten a MAJOR update to. Cheak it out. Quote
familyman Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I am speechless. It looks fantastic. The parking garage is going to be a trip. All the banks and drops are going to make this a must ride attraction for 2005 for sure. Quote
King Bowser Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 OH SH*T!!! WOW.... I cannot wait to see this in person Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Wow they really seemed to pick up the pace on building this. I can't wait too see what it looks like in about 2 weeks even though there is still so much work to be done on it. Quote
Dan Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 They've gotten a lot done since those pictures have been taken. The parking garage helix is complete with the drop. Quote
SOB_TOM Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Been awhile since Ive seen IJ, oh wait, about an hour ago I was looking at it I love my job Quote
Ben Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Man, it's looking awesome! Can't wait to ride it! Quote
thejoker8388 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 They are working at an amazing pace on it. I keep on getting more and more excited for this ride the more I see it. I think this will be an amazing ride. Quote
MarketingExpress Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 The track looks awesome. I can't wait. Agreed Quote
CoastersRZ Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 How old are those pictures if the helix is now completed? Aren`t they close to putting the final pieces of track in place? (Based on the pictures anyway.) It will be interesting to see how they work the queue line and the exit for this ride over by the Eagles old home. Quote
thejoker8388 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 ^The pics are dated March 3rd, so that would make them 4 days old. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Thanks, I guess I missed the obvious there. But sometimes, the pictures are taken a couple days before they post them to the website. Quote
Great America Guy Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I agree, seeing those pics shows how awesome of a layout this will be! I can't wait to get down to PKI this summer and try it out!! Seeing some of those pics makes me think it will be a little more thrilling than some think it will be. Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 looking great I wonder if the tunnels will be dark or will they have light? Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 My guess is that they will be dark with just a tad bit of light like a sweer Quote
KIBeast Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I'm sorry, like a sweer? I'm sure it was just a typo. Could you explain? Quote
pyrocoasterkid Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Lots of pictures! Seeing these picture makes me want to ride the ride that much more. It seems to be shaping up nicely, also, quite rapidly... Quote
PkiJake13 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Are the crates on the construction site for the helicopter scene? -Jake Quote
thejoker8388 Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 ^Yea that bank did kind of remind me of the Millenium Force bank, but it also kind of reminded me of these new coasters designed by Ingenieur Büro Stengel which are like extreme wild mouse coasters that also have wild banks. IJ:ST kind of reminds me a little bit of the Ingenieur Büro Stengel coasters that I have really wanted to ride Pics of the Ingenieur Büro Stengel ride Stengel has also designed coasters with B&M, Intamin, and others. He has worked on projects such as TTD, Scream, Titan, Storm Runner, Colossos, SOB, MF, Volcano, Incredible Hulk, and well basically every rollercoaster ever. Not to mention designing the first modern loop. Quote
UncleHenry Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Check out the MFB (Millenium Force Bank) Why do I have the feeling that turn is going to be called the "Millinnium Force Turn" for years to come now? Oh wait... it's because of a certain person by the name of Drew... Quote
KIBeast Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Yeah, it is kinda like a MF curve, but on MF, the banking is still a lot steeper than that. It nearly turns you upside down, like in this pic Millennium Force Bank Quote

I think IJ will be better though because the trains are longer and therefore heavier so the train will go through the turn with more momentum. Quote
Fo-Shame Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 But it'll be even more fun because the back-end of each car "fish-tales" out around the turns... Quote
Ben Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Check out the MFB (Millenium Force Bank) Millennium Force... Millennium Force's turns are a lot steeper than IJ:ST's. Quote
King Bowser Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 ^ Sweet I will ride this during the day and at nite Quote
Ben Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Also, Millennium Force only goes twice as fast as IJ:ST. Quote
