DonHelbig Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Could Six Flags memberships eventually replace traditional season passes? I take a closer look at what this shift could mean for guests and why memberships may become the preferred option for many visitors. Losantiville Mining Co. Posted June 6 Posted June 6 While a number of Six Flags parks announced that Seasonal Memberships will become available starting on Monday, June 8th, Canada's Wonderland has quietly posted that online season pass sales will end on June 14th, 2026. This feels like a much better solution compared to 2025 sales, in which a pass could be purchased all the way up until 2026 passes were available around July 29th. No news from parks like Kings Island or Cedar Point on when 2026 online pass sales will end, but I could believe it will be shortly after the extended Memorial Day Sale has concluded. (Screenshot: Canada's Wonderland home page on the Six Flags mobile app) Hopefully we'll see some improvements to the jumbled pass system with John Reilly at the helm and some new members on Six Flags' Board of Directors. I'm still confused as to why a Gold Pass isn't the same price at every park within a region, but I guess I should expect things like that from Six Flags — no matter who's in charge. Quote

Who will take there’s an extension coming on the deadline to buy your pass at CW? Quote

Except Wonderland (and Cedar Point and others) is not part of the parks trying the membership thing.... Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I think there will be an extension if they see major backlash over stopping the sales so early. A great idea will require great execution, though it seems Six Flags struggles with adequate execution as it is. 12 hours ago, disco2000 said: Except Wonderland (and Cedar Point and others) is not part of the parks trying the membership thing.... They're not part of the new membership program (yet), but it's still a valid question to ponder I highly doubt Six Flags will stop where they did if they deem the KI/other CF park membership programs to have been successful. CedarPointer Posted yesterday at 01:37 PM Posted yesterday at 01:37 PM Wonderland is now "sold out" (🙄) of season passes. Quote
jzarley Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I’ve read the description of memberships, but I’m still unclear on one thing—are they continuous? Do you pay monthly every month without any sort of break between seasons? (Meaning if my home park was KI I’d still pay in Jan/Feb/March?). If so, this doesn’t sound a lot different than my Universal Orlando pass—I pay monthly, then at the end of year I get an email saying that my 12 month rotation is coming to an end but if I don’t want to change anything about my AP it will just continue uninterrupted (usually with a slight monthly $ increase of course…). However, the primary difference is that Universal (barring a hurricane) is open 365 days/year. Quote
CedarPointer Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Well, in all fairness, Universal probably doesn't take away benefits you paid for with no notice, so that's one difference. Quote

The benefit is the payment is spread over those months instead of condensed, so the monthly is less. Quote

Well, that should definitely provide a boost to Q1’s revenue (assuming the volume of memberships is there) Quote
