italianchef
On Saturday Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and I drove to Indianapolis to attend the Star Wars Celebration III Convention. We visited both Saturday and Sunday. It was an awesome experience. The highlights include: 1. We got photographed with and autographs from Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), whom I interviewed for an article. 2. I got photographed with and autograph from Amy Allen (Aayla Secura in Episodes 2 & 3). 3. I bought toys and t-shirts. 4. We got photographed with lots of fans interesting costumes including Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and best of all - the Princess Leia slave girl from ROTJ. Have a great day! CoastersRZ
Sounds very neat! I just watched all three of the original Star Wars Special Editions this weekend. I had to do something since the weather here in Cincinnati was crap! When does episode 3 arrive in theaters?
Reclaimer
Ep. 3 comes out May 19. Quite a few theatres are doing midnight showings...I know my work is. Chef, how'd you like Indy? Hope everything was okay here in town for ya.

Hope everything was okay here in town for ya. I liked Indy a lot. They have a small Downtown which looks a lot like Newport on the Levee. They've got Jillian's, Claudaughs, and a bunch of restaurants and music venues. When Baby Chef is a little older, we plan a family vacation in Indianapolis. It's got a great zoo and lots of awesome museums. May the Force be with you! Italian Chef
flightoffear1996
Were these the real actors or just the average joe dressed up as them?
King Bowser
Why would you want to dress up? I will admit I never have been a fan of sci-fi cons or sci-fi I only dress up on Halloween.

italianchef
Were these the real actors or just the average joe dressed up as them? Both. Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and about 18 other actors showed up to give autpgraphs. Did you read my post about my article previewing the convention? I interviewed Peter Mayhew for it. And there were hundreds - perhaps over 1,000 fans dressed up in costumes. Quite frankly the fans in costume were more interesting than the actors in every day garb. My favorite costume was the Princess Leia slave girl outfit from ROTJ. I got photographed with 3 ladies wearing that skimpy outfit. Have a great day! Italian Chef
KIBeast
OOOOOHHHH! Chef, I am jealous! I have always loved Princess Leia in the slave outfit. Other than interviewing Peter Mayhew, did you get to talk to anyone else? Warning! Shameless Plug! The costume company I work for, Magic Makers Costumes, now has new Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader costumes from Revenge of the Sith. You can find them here...Magic Makers

LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Did you see Lucas himself? I read all about the convention on the SW site. I would have liked to meet Warwick Davis. The costumes for the costume contest looked incredible. Especially the Luke Skywalker action figure guy and the Han Solo with Taun-Taun (spelling?). I believe the 10' tall General Grevious won though. I can't wait for the next movie. Already got my midnight tickets.
