June 20, 200521 yr all i know is that it has been down since early june cause i was there on the 8th and it was down... Also, sry its off topic, but whats this new ride at Coney?
June 21, 200521 yr As of yesterday, that big crane was the only remaining "heavy machine" at Delirium - the cherry picker was gone, as was the other crane. They were still working on it though.
June 21, 200521 yr It is cool how they did all the work up on top instead of bringing the whole arm off like other people 'thought' would happen.
June 21, 200521 yr Well, when they didnt take of the arm that confirms that the main gear is what failed. If the motor blew then they would take down the whole arm.
June 21, 200521 yr You would be surprised how easy some people make these rides to work on. Plus, have you ever seen the insides of one of these rides? I would tell ya, but you dont need to know what the problem is. Plus its more fun to see you guys guess.
June 21, 200521 yr actually i can pretend n' be smart and know whats wrong with the ride....well..the third axel by the fourth motor ceased to operate which caused havoc...following this..mechanical engineers were brought up to the seen to properly repair the device to its glory days
June 22, 200521 yr Drove by this morning and I saw the crane up and working on it. That was about 9 am. I know whats wrong with it too... Its broken. And Im not a mechanic. I just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. </badjoke>
June 22, 200521 yr well actually a fat person went on the ride and when the ride was going full swing one direction the motors couldn't make it up all the way n' thats y one of the gears got screwed. didn't take a genius to know that
June 22, 200521 yr Well, when they didnt take of the arm that confirms that the main gear is what failed. If the motor blew then they would take down the whole arm. Why do you think that, about "the motor"? ..matt
June 22, 200521 yr Who knows, well i guess they were still working on it today cuz noone said anything new about it.
June 23, 200521 yr Well, when they didnt take of the arm that confirms that the main gear is what failed. If the motor blew then they would take down the whole arm. Why do you think that, about "the motor"? ..matt Yeah, I'd tend to think the opposite. The drives sit off to the side and the gear is in the "guts" of the pivot at the top. But like Matt said earlier, the rides are designed to facilitate repairs and maintenance (for the most part anyways).
June 23, 200521 yr Ya i'm sure they made maintenance for the mechanical parts of it easy, hence the platform up there
June 23, 200521 yr I heard another 6 weeks. I cant wait any longer. i just want the ride to open. Im sure we all want it to open. Delirium is one cool ride at PKI.
June 23, 200521 yr Magic 8 ball says..... Don't worry, it will open the day after you go to the park.
June 24, 200521 yr I just heard that it would be another 6 weeks. I cant wait till it opens agian. I bet the line will be very long when it reopens again.
