Wild Thornberrys! My friends and I always ride that.. WWC gets ya soaked the doo doesnt like that on cool spring days!

Sorry Snapper but I voted Thornberries. Two reasons. One and most importantly - ITS AN ARROW!!!!!!!!!!! But two - I hate getting wet. laugh.gif

WWC all they way, esp if you work it. And for those of you did work it, you know exactly what I am talking about when I say tower 3 is the best place to work and you got to love the way the girls look coming off the ride wink.gif (and boy do I have a few great stories about that biggrin.gif )

Back to what Klockster was saying about Arrow...

When Arrow development originally designed the log flume, the owners of the park (and I think this was Knott's at the time) told them that it should be a water ride, but no one should get wet. It was simply the mode of transportation. After arguing with the park and doing extensive research, they came to the conclusion that people want to get "kind of wet" on water rides. That directly relates to the front of the flume. If you noticed that a cylindrical shape is cut out. It's actually intended to push water away and have a small amount splash up.

Now, I think the theory is true because it's never really fun to get drenched on these rides. It's always one of those things that sounds good at the time, but then you regret it an hour later.

I'd say all 3 have ups and downs:

Flume:

Ups:

Cool theme

Classic ride

Downs:

Ride can be boring at points

Congo:

Ups:

Excellent air time

Downs:

Short

Themeless

WWC:

Ups:

Perfect natural theme

Downs:

Just kidding Brandon!! rolleyes.gif

Yes, the Thornberrys is a classic flume that doesn`t get you too wet (unless that darn elephant is aiming for your log). Thornberrys is short but fun. I`d have to say WWC is the best water ride in the park. It gets you incredibly wet, and offers a slightly different experience every time you ride it. Another thing that is cool about that ride is that, as Boddah1994 mentioned, it is entirely hidden in the woods. The woods are so thick around the ride that it can`t be seen from the Eiffel Tower!

On a sad note, Cedar Point announced today that they will be removing their White Water Landind, an Arrow Hydraflume, similar to what Kenton`s Cove Keelboat Canal was.

I never really cared for the Fume rides at all. I liked KCKC b/c it sort of took you around and was a nice ride, someone like the Thornberrys. I really dislike Congo b/c its really really short (length of the ride).

I dunno about that, but always found it funny that the parked owned 3 log fume rides and two of them were right next to each other laugh.gif

Thornberrys cools you off with quickness on those hot summer days when WWC's line is five miles long.

Congo is exciting but it is short. Thornberry's always has a long line but WWC gives you everything in one.

Wasn't there four??

-Congo falls

-White water canyon

- keton cove

- thornberrys

no

these are 3 different types

Congo: Shoot the Chutes

Thornberrys: Flume

WWC: River Rapids

however, before Thornberrys, there was another flume, it was redone with thornberrys, so there is 2, and the third would be, you guessed it, KCKC

WWC is my favorite ride in the entire park. And I love rollercoasters. But there is nothing like loading my family on WWC and watching their faces wondering who's gonna get the most soaked.

Starting out of the gate, the car hits the wall, bounces off into a slow spin, increasing the anticipation as it spins as to who will back into the first wall of water at the first rapids.........and have the water come pouring over the side all over them!!! That is so much fun.

And then you spin around into several other rapid walls getting splashed.......into the tunnel where sometimes you get sprayed...........and then they slow you down at the gate and nail you sometimes.

But heading out into the open where everyone is gunning their cannons at you is the best. You just never know who is going to get it the worst. It is the best family ride in the whole park.

Last time I rode it............the people paying to shoot at us were well trained and organized. I think they had every "pay" cannon going plus the guy up in the tower. We got hit with every cannon, from every angle, and nobody missed us.........it was both unbelievable, fun, and surprising! Never been that wet on that ride before.

WWC is the best.
