Akira1422
Resize this if you want, but everyone should see the detail of this photo. My dad is with the Nat'l Guard, he went to Mississippi. On the laptop he had I found this picture, other people have used it, so I'm not sure where it came from. If anyone knows what place this is, please post it on here... Get ready.. Gordon Bombay
Did Six Flags build a completely new park in that location or was it a park prior to SF buying it.
DeLorean Rider
It was previously Jazzland
Captain Nemo
This really shows the damage of the park than the other photos of it. It's so sad, even when it's been over a month.
WooferBearATL
Just Looks Like SFNO is just going with that "Under Water" Theme. From the pics it seems to be a success!
teenageninja
That was in really [expletive removed] taste... you deserve to go to hell for that.
TheKlockster
No really, it looks like the park was not badly damaged by the Hurricane. I mean of course the flood damage on the buildings will be extensive. But their wood coaster uses steel supports. So corner cutting on Six Flags behalf actually was a blessing in disguise! I heard somewhere the park will reopen, but not as a Six Flags park - but as just a locally owned and operated park.
FOF/Z 4-ever
That was in really [expletive removed] taste... you deserve to go to hell for that. I agree (Except for the going to hell part. That is wrong too).
coastergirl
This may be a silly question, but I noticed that there was a Spongebob movie or ride of some kind. I thought only Paramount had Spongebob. Six Flags can have rights to Spongebob also?
King Bowser
Paramount sold the rights to SF so they can have Spongebob in all SF parks. And thats just awful SFNO just opened up not to long ago man thats sad I hope they rebuild.
FOF/Z 4-ever
^Does that mean Paramount does not own the rights to SB themed rides? So, no boat ride for SB then?

WooferBearATL
That was in really  taste... you deserve to go to hell for that. Joke, it's a joke. Think about it. This all happened in my backyard. We still have several thousand displaced people living here in ATL. Humor helps people understand and deal with tragic situations. King Bowser
^^Yes paramount owns the rights to all things spongebob and all things Nick and Nick Jr.. That boating school attraction could indeed happen just wait til Jan to see if it does.
screamingnight
could six flgas ever buy paramount parks? They could do some great things with it.

Delirium_Guy
No really, it looks like the park was not badly damaged by the Hurricane. I heard somewhere the park will reopen, but not as a Six Flags park - but as just a locally owned and operated park. Six Flags didn't build Megazeph, the folks from Jazzland built it prior to the Six Flags purchase. The other thing, steel supports aren't neccesarily a corner cutting thing. Parks that are cramped on space benefit from the steel support structures because they typically require less room. Currently, in the Six Flags agreement with the city of New Orleans....in exchange for not paying property tax and city fees, Six Flags is required to rebuild in the event of damage. Not sure if they'll find a way outta that one or not? If they can, they'd be smart to get out! The park has lost money since it opened in 2000, slapping the Six Flags name certainly didn't help as expected either. Sadly, Megazeph is one of about 10 CCI's that I haven't been on :-( Hope it finds a new home or gets a second chance in New Orleans!
harvesterofyoursorrow
I really like this water ride: http://interthemepark.shutterfly.com/actio...d=1128990460371
Pkirocker77
That is sad. I hope some one reopens the park. Katrina victims, our hearts are with you.
Gordon Bombay
could six flgas ever buy paramount parks? They could do some great things with it. Like what? Run all 5 of our parks into the ground, let the midways become landfills, and not inspect our rides properly? Oh yeah, I just cant wait for SF to buy up Paramount parks, they need to do something about that 3 billion dollar debt thing though.
Outdoor Man
they or someone will find a way to re-open.... EXTENSIVE floods came to visit Coney Island every 15 years or so..... and it always reopened.... most recently 1997. My guess; the coasters will ride again.
