StXsteven
I was up in columbus, and I stayed in a hotel saturday night. I picked up a pamphlet about pki and the top gun picture was messed up again! Why do they keep messing this pic up? Do they know it's messed up? screamingnight
What are you talking about?
TOPGUN1993
I no what you mean there is a photo of Delirium and there is the topgun logo on the picture.
Captain Nemo
I think you are talking about the picture of Top-Gun but the coaster doesn't look like PKI's. That is most likly the one a carowinds.
RailRider
Yeah cause the one at Carowinds looks and is more exciting than ours. Just a little missleading advertisement.
Gordon Bombay
I think hes referring to how they show a picture of the brand new Top Gun with the nice red track and it looks beautiful when our Top Gun definently needs some TLC.
CoastersRZ
Either that, or how they might have shown the B&M versions of Top Gun that resides at Carowinds or Great America (as others have already said). Really this is not that surprising, and generally, the general public won`t notice these subtle glitches in their marketing campaign. PKI and Paramount Parks are generally pretty good about not recycling images for their advertisements.
PKI Foodguy
PKI and Paramount Parks are generally pretty good about not recycling images for their advertisements. Dude, they reuse pics for everything. If you look at the site, the pic of Face off is actually Invertigo at PGA. Also if you watch PKD's Tomb raider video, you'll notice the striking simularity to our own Tomb Raider. There's lots of these subtle differences if you look for them. thejoker8388
^They're not nearly as bad as Six Flags. This summer they had a couple Wyndot Lake commercials that were so misleading. The one showed the little PTC Sea Dragon as some huge out and back coaster. The other commercial showed slides that aren't any thing like the slides at Wyndot and showed one of the Proslide funnel slides. At first I though Wyndot got a nice new slide but it was just Six Flags using film footage from other parks for the Wyndot commercials. They didn't show a single picture that was actually from Wyndot in any of their commercials.
jzarley
That's the truth! I don't think any footage in the Wyandot commercials over the last few years actually came from Wyandot Lake!
PKI Foodguy
If you go to the pki website's rides page, theres a pic of one of the B&M Top Guns. Oh, what I would give for a B&M at KI.
Jasper
I would love to have a B&M Top Gun or even just a B&M coaster period.
RevengeofTheSmurfs
I have some some pictures that shows SDaTHC w/ Mystery Machines like the ones at Carowinds not our PT re-used Mystery Machines I HATE when they fake you out like that. MrPKI
I was just looking around at all the Paramount Park websites, and it's pretty funny noting the messed up pictures. Apparently all of the White Water Canyon and Extreme Skyflier rides looks exactly the same and have the same people in them. I was looking at PCW's Thunder Run, and there's a pictures of PKI's Adventure Express.
Gordon Bombay
Whether or not the picture from another park is the same doesnt really matter unless it completely misleads you and PKI's website doesnt do that. Theyve never shown a picture of Carowinds Top Gun referring to our Top Gun, they just show the inverted seats in our top gun logo which you can barely tell unless you look extremely close. One thing Ive noticed though is that PKI doesnt promote things on their website very well, like when you click family rides, Italian Job isnt even under there but Zephyr and Viking Fury are. They leave out so many rides under their rides page and dont promote things well on there at all.
Outdoor Man
don't you miss the time when the marketing was specific to the park it was intended for? Everything now is just painted with a broad brush and fits under one huge umbrella.
screamingnight
I going to go off topic a little bit: If you go to Fear Fest`s page and go to rides and attraction and click on rides scroll down to The Beast and it says it goes 80 mph when it really goes 64. MrPKI
lol. Maybe they got SOB's stats mixed up with The Beast's. Either that or they're way over advertising.

It was under The Beast`s picture. SOB does`nt even go that fast.
CoastersRZ
Well, according to what it was designed to go, it goes 78.382 mph (design speed). Although I have heard that it actually has been clocked going 80mph when it first opened.
HomerJay
actually, though, even before KI was owned by Paramount I remember seeing commercials for the park and thinking "that's not Kings Island." Weren't some of the parks still co-owned, just not by paramount ?

Kings Island was owned for a short time by AFC (American Financial Corporation) but still managed by KECO. In the early 1980's, KECO purchased Great America from Marriott. Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Canada's Wonderland and Kings Island were all under the original ownerships.
