Opening Day Weather

I just looked at weather.com for next Friday's forcast. They are saying it's suspose to be 67 degrees with party sunny skies. I know it's still 9 days away, but lets hope this doesn't change much. That sounds like a perfect day to go to PKI.

I think the perfect weather for opening day would be a very light mist, such that most of the public stays home, yet the park remains open. Then, on Saturday, let the warm, cloud-free day come, with large crowds to ensure the park's success!

Yeah I would like a light rain with temps in the 40s and 50s. I went to Kings Island in October with that kind of weather and everyone went to the Fearfest mazes while i rode pretty much every roller coaster 3 times. It was awesome

But keep in mind that cold and rainy conditions were present last year on the season pass holder day. The park only was open for two hours due to lack of crowds.

Also, this morning, I heard that Warm 98 (WRRM Cincinnati) is giving away 100 tickets for next Friday (Five office workers will win a ticket for them and 19 of their coworkers is what the commercial said). Most likely other radio stations are giving tickets away as well for that Friday, if not the other days of the weekend.

Radio stations in markets far from Cincinnati are giving away many, many tickets for opening day. This has been standard procedure for PKI for some time. In years past, they were for dry run day, though.

Yes. So expect LONG lines, especially if the weather is nice! I`m hoping Easter is like it was two years ago though!

I am hoping that the park will be mostly empty anyhow, id love to just walk around adter my Open on Friday and just look around everywhere..... Being Easter weekend and all i figured the park would be very quiet, possibly id get an early released home on sat and sun when i scheduled myself to work Doubles

I thought that because it is after all easter weekend, most people would be at church or visiting family and friends, and not be too interested in the Park. I Cant wait to clock in for my first shift

Oh well if the park is busy. I have a season pass. I may be going back on Easter Sunday too. Which like pervious years the park is always dead on Easter. But it doesn't bother me if the park is busy. It will just be nice to be back inside the gates. And besides we have all season.

As long as it doesnt rain too much it'll be fine. One thing that working outside yearround has taught me to appreciate is weather. As long as its like yesterday, and maybe some mist/light rain, its all good. Cant wait for the 14th yo. I'll be wearing my Dueling Dragons shirt more than likely, so keep an eye out for that>.>

I should be there on opening day from whenever I can get there until closing. School ends at 2:30, so hopefully before 3:30ish if I'm lucky. As I said, look for my DD shirt.

Opening day is typically busy, but hopefully the fact that it's Good Friday will hinder some people from going.

Expect large crowds. Even though opening day is all day on Friday, it is Good Friday and a lot of public schools in the Cincinnati have both Friday and Monday off as well. In addition to that, I have heard of at least one radio station giving away a lot of tickets for Friday. Presumably, radio stations from far away from Cincinnati are doing the same thing. (Perhaps as far away as Indianapolis, Dayton and Columbus.)

True, but I'm guessing Saturday will take away some of Friday's life. I'm going Friday and Sunday personally.

But the radio station I heard was only giving away tickets for Friday, not Saturday. I will be up there Saturday morning for the pass holder time in NU, and then will definantely be up there on Sunday!

rain or shine, sleet or hail, thunder and lighting, Im There! i dont care how its going to be i just want to be there.. nobody is going to be there anyway since its opening day (ok so maybe a few hundred people, but dont expect long lines) i just hope some coasters are open, ive got the need for some coaster speed!

I would like for there to be clear skies and heat, I really don't care about the other days I am not working them, I don't think that the park will be crowded because an amusement park doesn't sound really good with my easter dinner.

I would imagine that Easter will be the least crowded day of the four that they are open next weekend, based on past history of attendance on Easter day.

yeah i heard at least three stations giving away tickets. ive heard so many ppl from my school talkin about how their friends and them are gonna be down there. so im expecting a large crowd

Yeah and with the weather being nice if it hold's out. They will probably be alot of people at the park on Friday. But oh well it will still be worth it.
