This news combined with the news about the financing of the debt makes it sound like the closing of the deal is very imminent. One of the bigger obstacles was getting approval of the deal from the FTC. It will be interesting to see if the deal is closed by the end of the weel (month).

I am going to guess by the closing bell on Thursday - since CBS will be penalized 1 million for every day past June 30th that the deal is not closed.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly for a Friday close...

--It's the end of the fiscal quarter.

--CBS starts losing $1M/day after COB on the 30th

--Cedar Fair wants the revenue booked to them for the holiday weekend

The only reason I say Friday instead of Thursday is because the lawyers always find a way to drag it out to the last minute to get every billable second possible biggrin.gif

When will the final deal be signed? Maybe this week. Maybe next month. I think the BIGGER question is when do the properties actually switch ownership. Will it be during the season or after the season ends? That, I don't know.

Well, technically once Cedar Fair closes the deal, the parks will switch ownership. That is when the deal becomes offiicial and the Paramount Parks become official members of the Cedar Fair family. However, changes won`t likely start to be really notices until after the end of the season. Ie, all the Paramount Parks will still be called Paramount Parks for the rest of this year with little or no significant changes to the day to day operations this season.

...but I'm excited in some ways to see the new maps and websites. Maps won't change til next year, I'm sure, but I wonder how soon after the sale will we see a new website? It all depends on how soon CF wants to start making noticable changes.

I think Klockster was being sarcastic. He was referring to an earlier thread that CP would send Corkscrew to KI. Guess we'll all have to start using the winking smilie since no one seems to be able to detect sarcasm.

well Cedar Fair management was on hand this morning from a lot of workers that mentioned they already took over: And the whole park was the best mood from employees to thrill seekers in a long time:
