My last trip to PKI was the last day of the season of 01 (my mom won tickets on the radio). It was packed and we hardly did anything. My previous trip was on the first Friday in June of 00 (I've taken a few years off to go to other parks). I decided to go with my cousin yesterday because I figured crowds would be dead like it was in 00....boy, was I wrong. It was even more crowded than Cedar Point on a weekend last August.

We got to the park about 11:15 and went to Face/Off first and got in line. We didn't realize how long it was, so we got stuck in line. It took an hour and 45 minutes. Next, we headed towards Son of Beast. Surprisingly, the lines weren't nearly as long as I figured. After an hour and 5 minutes, we were on. I'd been waiting to ride this thing again, and it seems much smoother now. After, we ate at Bubba Gump's, and decided we'd check out Flight of Fear next. The guy at the queue told us it was 2+ hours, so we then went to The Vortex, which had a ~105 minute wait. We didn't want to wait, so we just went to Tomb Raider since we both hadn't been there since it was opened. Surprisingly, it was the shortest line of the day. A pretty cool ride that was worth the wait, in my opinion. Next we waited an hour and 45 minutes for The Beast. Did they make this faster or more rough? I got the wind knocked out of me and my back is still aching, but it was fun. After, we checked lines which were all still very long, so we went to a shop and then left.

I'm really irritated because I feel I didn't get my money's worth. There was about 8 more things we wanted to do, but couldn't. A few kids I have classes with say they went on a Tuesday last July and that the longest waits were 25-30 minutes. I'll probably go again. Hopefully it doesn't suck next time.

Yep, and for some reason, this BAFFD seemed especially crowded. Better luck next time.

I wouldn't have gone if I realized it was Bring A Friend Day. When I go later this summer, I'll be sure and check on it.

when will PKI learn? ;) i've said it before and i'll say it again. the only thing i like about six flags is the way they do BAFFD's b/c it's not just one day, you can bring someone whenever you want. PKI NEEDS to do it this way. it would really help with the crods b/c only a select few would come each day (bringing a friend). i'm gonna email PKI right now and let them know.

It used to be that when you renewed your pass in the fall, you would recieve a ticket for any day in the remainder of the season. However, the last couple of seasons, those tickets have only been valid the final weekend of the season. I think the park knows it gets crowded and guests can`t experience everything. This way the people that got in free will want to buy a ticket or season pass to return later when it is not crowded so they can experience everything they want to.

Sorry to hear that, but it was a BAFFD so what do you expect? Boomerang Bay wasn't too bad yesterday, I had a great time. Man the line for Taz moves fast.

well if the guests come to find that the park is etremely crowded then they might not ever want to come back. i emailed PKI with my suggestion and hopefully we'll be able to atleast change something.

BAFFD'S are awful I never go when I know there is BAFFD. I like going when The park is plain empty like on a rainy day or when its a weekday.

go on tuesdays or wednesdays when it's supposed to rain lightly..no one goes and then a lot of the time it never rains...yea (2x rides tuesdays and walk-on wednesdays..woohoo!!!)

It is now walk on weekends.

I go on Mondays or Tues,Weds...PKI isnt that bad on early Monday mornings but yeah I know what ya mean.

Most of the Day i just hung out in Boomerang Bay, even tho people were somewhat crowding. it was worse in the main park  i couldn't through the Da** park without runnin itnto yuppies (snobs with alot of money,i hate the *******s :offtopic:)

Man the line for Taz moves fast.

They have changed there operations and have now doubled there capacity.

Either that, or have it so you can only get a friend in before noon, or perhaps have the first 2000 or so get a friend in free... then again, I like your idea... why not issue two free tickets with each gold pass?

well if they just let them in free before noon then you'd have loads of mad guests that couldn't get people in after that. plus it would then be crazy in the morning trying to get everyone in before noon.

It's crazy in the morning as is. I'm just throwing around ideas.

Here's why I think KI does this. If your not on this site, you probably don't care what it's like outside, I told numerous people at school that they were expecting 57,000 (Actually had 52,000) and they still didn't mind. If people get in free they don't mind, they will pay for the drinks and the games.

That would be too easy....

of course PKI never does things the easy. smart, logical way.

Why lose the profits by limiting the times GPers can get in? Baffd cost the park nothing, other than staffing, and anything the "free" person in there buys is nearly pure profit to the park.

Bingo, the answer is, because tickets can be resold! And the park doesnt want passers to make a profit when they are not! Hence why we fire employees that sell their tickets that they earn working there.

It's not that I'm against your idea, for I think it's a good one, its just theres certain things that PKI won't do, and thats one of them. If they could figure out a better system, it wouldnt be so bad. Right now, they seem to think this one is working ok, in future years, I'm sure management will see how outdated and stochastic it is.
