StXsteven
All of Bomerang Bay. ETA: Remember, after Labor Day the park will be CLOSED to the general public even on weekends until Sunday, September 24. yea why is that? Do they do that every year? I can't remeber last year in September at all. Is it for renovations and fearfest and stuff? Or just closed because not enough workers? PKIDelirium
Private company buyouts. Happens every year for as long as I can remember.
StXsteven
Oh yeah I forgot about that. Thanks, for some reason it was just blocked from my mind. Wow thats scary haha.
PKIVortex
I could see tomorrow being White Water Canyon's last day of the season. Also if they use the Scrambler for a que line for fearfest I could see Scrambler being closed when the park reopens to the public.
TOPGUN1993
What about Sponge Bob and HBL film ? Congo Falls ?
PKIVortex
Congo Falls normally doesn't close early. They are still some warm days even in October. If they are going to put Fear Fest films in the FX Theather this year, then yes they will be closing soon too.

Is it for renovations and fearfest and stuff? Or just closed because not enough workers? It's because they have corporate days in september. I remember when I was really little before he had passes, we would have our annual pki trip on my dads copany's exclusive weekend in September, where we got tickets for cheap. I think they still do that.
TheKlockster
Yeah Scrambler always ends up coming out in September. In September they have GE day and P&G day and Pride Night. Pride night actually is open to the public but you have to buy tickets through their organization. Season passes are not valid for it. CoastersRZ
Actually this year is better than most, because the park is open on the 24th to the general public. Normally, after Labor Day, that is it until the final season in September.
The Interpreter
Which may not be all that good a news for the park. Probably was a buyout in years past that the buyer didn't buy this time. . .and they weren't able to sell it to anyone else.

Probably was a buyout in years past that the buyer didn't buy this time. . .and they weren't able to sell it to anyone else. The park had always in the past had a variety of Corporate Buy outs and days that the park were open to the public. If you've never been to P&G Day you've missed something special. They really take care of (or used to at least) take care of their people. They even set up their own displays and events.
PKIVortex
P&G Day was also on the easiest weekend to work, those people we so nice, never had any problems with them. Now GE Day that was totally different. They were some of the stupidest people I ever dealt with working at PKI. I caught so many people jumping thru the trains at AE, and not just the seats, but the actually area of the trains were the cars hitch to each other. Only time I ever hated working at the park was for Grad Nights. Some of those kids were the most poorly behaved and disrespectful people I've ever seen in my life. When I was supervisor at International Funnel Cakes some kids actually bent one of the wrought iron tables. Just blew me away.

I could not locate any evidence of Cedar Point ever having a Gay/Pride day.

I could not locate any evidence of Cedar Point ever having a Gay/Pride day. They (CP) actually has an event like Kings Island's old "Red Shirt" day. It's held in June of every year, when most Pride Events go on. In Atlanta and SFOG it's called "Pearl Day" and people buy Mardi Gras type beads and the profits go to chearity. Actually how Pride night arrived at Kings Island was that Paramount took the day that had always been Red Shirt Day (June) and made it a private day for the scouts. It was almost commical as never before had the park made a "Private" day before the company days in August and September.
The Interpreter
There may be a day when gay people gather together at Cedar Point, but, to my knowledge, it not an official park event. Cedar Fair is not Paramount Parks. The question as to whether Pride Nights will continue under Cedar Fair is a good one. Not continuing them, especially since it is a buy-out, might well subject the park to some interesting litigation. Besides, it's a buy-out, and Cedar Fair is in no financial position to be turning down money, so long as the event is profitable.

They may take the apporach that Disney does during the Gay Days weekend. The Magic Kingdom just says all are welcome during the day. And during the night, party promoters rent out the parks. Money is money.
CoastersRZ
Isn`t that day in June for Toyota, or some other big company like that? Most people think that the park is closed because it is "gay day" at the park, when there really is a legitimate company buyout that day. I believe that the current Pride Night is held on one of the last Friday nights in September, and as others have stated is only open to those who buy tickets through certain organizations. Jasper
i just thought of something to add to the You might be a PKi addict if you.. topic. You might be a PKI Addict if you act like a gay couple just to go to the park. I wouldnt go that far.

You might be a PKI Addict if you act like a gay couple just to go to the park. I wouldnt go that far. It's actually a great evening to go to the park. There usually are more shows and more entertainment (we gay folk are so creative!) than there is throughout the rest of the year. <G> And, ya don't have to be gay to buy tickets. I can assure you there is no test involved with the ticket purchase. <G>
TheKlockster
Yeah its for GLBT people as well as frends of GLBT people. I worked at the event last year and it was a blast. I'd go but its like over 40 bucks - and I'm saving up for my Maxx pass.
