PKIVortex Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I'll say Nick U just because Nickelonden is known to kids more then HB today. Quote
King Bowser Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 As a little kid I always looked forward to seeing Fred Flintstone and the other HB characters but mostly Fred and Dino,Scooby Doo so I'll go with HBL. Quote
ragerunner Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I think we would see a very lopsided vote if kids were taking this poll (in favor of Nick). I find it interesting that a bunch of grown adults or teenagers wanting to hold onto what was popular when they were a kid. I have small children and they are big fans of Nick. I had to explain who the Flintstones and Jetsons were to them. Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 HB was the in thing 10 -15 years ago, but today's kids don't really know much about HB except for maybe Scooby. I think PKI made the right movie removing HB and introducing Nick U. Quote

What the? wow you guys honestly dont know do you Paramount is NICK and CBS IS NICK the park WAS paramount it isnt because NICK is popular it because PARAMOUNT owned the parks !!! and the HB Contract with the parks was almost up.HB is still popular look at Cartoon Network all there shows are done by Hanna-Barbera Animation like Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy,Camp Lazlo etc. Yup Scooby-Doo is popular with kids and adults I like the new scooby-doo series very funny stuff. And the question was what do you like more Hanna-Barbera Land or Nick U. Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Okay do you really think that alot of the younger people today know who Fred, Boo boo, Yogie Bear is. Probably not a whole lot of them. Nick is very popular with kids today. Heck Universal Studios had Nick in Flordia why before Paramount Parks ever came along. Quote

But your forgetting Universal Studios also had featured Hanna-Barbera Characters I dont think your giving credit to this topic you seem as if Nick is the most popular of all but kids do also watch Boomerang and Cartoon Network,Disney Channel. Gordon Bombay Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I think the destruction of Hannah Barberra Land was the best thing to happen to the kids area in recent years. Not because I dislike HB, but because it was looking really really really trashy, I was amazed when it won best kids area 2005. The place looked terrible (although still much better than any of CP's kids areas). It wouldve been cool to see them renovate it and still use the HB themes but NU looks great and the kids love it. I don't put a lot of stock in the park awards. Seems way too political and not based upon enough good and credible criteria. Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'll agree with Woofer and I'll go with Hanna-Barbera Land King Bowser is right the only reason NICK came into the park was because the Hanna-Barbera contract was at the end and paramount rethemed the area with characters they own. Hanna-Barbera is still somewhat popular last week I seen a little girl wearing a Flintstones t-shirt with pebbles on it and at school I seen a freshmen chick wearing a jetsons shirt. Quote
cstrwomann Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I as an adult like Hanna Barbera but the children love Nickelodeon. I would like to see a combination of both of them in the Paramount parks. Quote

The Interpreter Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Yep...Viacom is considering building parks in China. To my knowledge, Cedar Fair bought the rights to the name "Paramount Parks" only in the USA, and only for a limited time. Quote

The Interpreter Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Well, actually 10 years from June 30, 2006, but subject to certain adjustments in the event of early termination...whatever THAT means! Quote

Jasper Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I voted for HBL because i grew up with it and in my opinion the cartoons today are so stupid that i do not know how anybody can watch them. They need to go back to the good ole days of Fred, George Jeson, Dick Dasterdly, Scooby Doo, etc. That is why in my top 10 channels on my TV Boomerang is toward the top because they play all the old cartoons. They also have a marathon which should be coming up in October when they air every Scooby Doo episode ever made. I am looking forward to that a lot. Quote

SharkGuy Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Hanna-Barbera!!! All the way!!! I admit do love spongebob squarepants but I love The Flintstones,Jetsons,JabberJaw,Scooby-Doo way more I will never forget the happiness HBL brought me. Quote
screamingnight Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I remeber when I was seven I would always looking forward to going in HB land and entering the statue of Fred Flinstone and some other character. But those days are over. Quote
SharkGuy Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 ^ That was a Yogi Bear Statue...I remember the Rainbow to the Happy Land of Hanna-Barbera ... ahhh those were the days hanging out with Captain Caveman,The Smurfs,The Flintstones,Jetsons,Scooby Quote
italianchef Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I grew up with Hanna-Barbera cartoons, so I vote for H-B Land over NU. Have a great day! Italian Chef Quote
Deliriumbeast Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I vote Nickelodeon Universe, because it is newer, and it is a really bright, and more exciting area than Hannah-Barbera Land. I think the rides in Nickelodeon Universe are better anyway. I still like Hannah-Barbera Land, just not as much. Quote
HabloRM Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I like the new Nick area better because it gives off a better vibe than HB did. And Avatar was a good addition to the park. It's a thrill ride for kids, which honestly is way better than Ghoaster Coaster. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I'll take Bugs Bunny National Park anyday. Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I'll take Bugs Bunny National Park anyday. Are you baiting me? Carrots, anyone? Quote
KIBeast Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I like HB, but Nick actually looks a lot better than HB ever did! Yes, some kids know HB, but many more of them know the Nick characters better. Not an opinion, but fact! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 While HB holds so many memories for us, we have grown up guys! Characters like Fred Flinstone and the Jetsons are not known as well to the kids of today. I loved HB but I am happy it is now NU! Quote
ragerunner Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 They changed the area so that the current generation of kids can identify with it better. Just like when we were kids we identified with HB and one day they will probably change the area to identify with another generation and what they know. I have small children and they know Nick. The only main HB character they know is Scooby Doo. I just find it a little amazing that a bunch of grown ups and teenagers want the Kids area to keep the characters from their childhood. If KI had taken that approach when we were children they probably would have not use HB character when we were kids (they would have used characters from our parents childhood), and then we would have visited the park and said to our parents, who are these characters?
