Ummm, taxi jam is still there. It's now called Little Bill's giggle coaster. The antique cars and flying eagles are what was where IJ:ST is located now. Not sure what you are talking about. And, it just ain't gonna happen. It is too new and popular of an installation to just be removed or moved. Too much money involved too.

how?

Like this!

"I will not come back until they remove or relocate IJ:ST for the for Top Cats Taxi Jam. I always have fun on that. It took me about 4 hours to find it, but I noticed the stunt track and got angry at PKI! So I refuse to go there.

Look at the next topic for PT please.

Also, when I was watching the Go-Kart Racing, also known as Days of Thunder, I noticed the 'Tiques in the back of Days of Thunder under tarps."

Why does this remind me of that guy who won't go to KI because the don't have a campground?

Aside from the fishtail and step effect (which never worked), what is not working on IT?

And I doubt they will ever bring the 'Tiques back. When the ride first opened, it was considered a "family" ride. With kids attitudes today, the Antique Cars would barely be a "kiddie" ride. Ten years ago, rides like IT and Maverick would be "thrill" rides. Now they are considered "family" rides. Plus with gas prices going up and down, I doubt the 'tiques make much financial sense to bring back.

I think IJST is a pretty ok coaster...I enjoy my rides on it. I think it has two main problems:

1) It was way overhyped, and the marketing promised a lot more than it ever had a hope of delivering. Like CDBB and TR:TR before it, the pre-season marketing hyped it like it was the most "fantabulous, incredible, Hollywood-ized attraction in the history of the universe!!!" (I exaggerate, but you get my drift...) Fortunately, the days of outrageous hyperbole appear to be behind us now, so maybe future attractions won't suffer from the same type of promised vs. delivered disappointment.

2) It was placed in a terrible location. Of all the land available for development, they picked the absolute worst place to build it. A lot of what made KI such a pretty park really died the day they ripped out the 'tiques and replaced it with IJST. Of any decision made in the last 15 years at KI, I think the placement of IJST has to be #1 worst...

I agree entirely on that point about bad locations.

The only worse choice could have been to rip out the Royal Fountain and put it in the middle of International Street.

Had Paramount been around much longer, I'm guessing that would have happened.

I would tend to agree on IJST's placement. I mean, KI has plenty of land to expand on. They're not "Landlocked" like CP is, and Tiques happened to be quite a different take on the park experience. It was more of a wind-down ride than it was more of a "kiddy ride"; at least that's how it seemed to me.

IJ is a decent coaster, as long as the theming works well. If not, it just takes away from the experience that was meant for it. Oh well, we'll see how CF sorts this one out.

You know, Woofer...I'm starting to think you didn't care much for Paramount Parks laugh.gif

(It's kind of like thinking "I wonder what Ann Coulter thinks about Bill Clinton?" wink.gif )

Just joking w/ya biggrin.gif

^IJST is not a cheap or crappy attraction by any means, it has great theming and is a great concept and went over very well with the general public!

IJST was definately cheap. I have heard it cost about 3.5 million Canadian dollars - which isn't very much. Even if it cost more than that - it certainly didn't cost any more than Delirium or Tomb Raider - and no where near as much as Maverick.

As for the thrill of IJST - that varies from person to person - but in my opinion - the IJST doesn't hold a candle to the 15 year old Adventure Express coaster.
