I was looking through the history section at some classic photos of the Demon. In some of the photos, the color is obviously off. I was wondering what colors were used? I think the train was yellow like in the pics, but not sure about the track.

And, other than The Beast, has any other coaster at KI had two lift hills?

Aventure Express had two lift hills. Also The Bat had two lift hills. Other then those no.

Oh yeah I forgot about Face/Off I guess it does have 2 lifts. Racer probably doesn't really count, as it's 2 different tracks.

Racer is essentially two different rollercoasters right next to eachother, they can operate independently and each ahve their own PLC systems. They're not morpheous racing coasters like the ones at kennywood, so raelly each racer only has one lift hill. Two Coasters, one attraction, two seperate lift hills.

Actually, each racer has a second lift on the second big hill that seems to run only in extremely cold weather and the beginning of the season. Look between the anti-rollbacks sometime and you may see the chain whether it is moving or not.

Thats technically not a lift, that's a booster for cold weather. They had to add it after train modifications made them heavier.

And they only have the chain in the chain track and moving the first couple weekends the park is open in April. After that, the threat of the train stalling on the antirollbacks is reduced so they will move the chain off to the side of the antirollbacks, to reduce wear on the chain dogs of the train.

Cool about the lift hills, but what about the paint scheme for Screamin' Demon? Anyone? Bueller?

What ever, to me they are second lifts when they are there. I have ridden The Racer when they were used and when without them we would not have made it to the station. Also I might add that last weekend the chains were inside the rollbacks. As for the Screamin demon, the ride was originally brown at the two breaking areas and the loop went from yellow to red to yellow. When the name was changed to "Demon" the ride as painted solid brown. The collor of the trains never changed.

Then when the ride moved to Camden park as Thunderbolt Express it looked like:

And ever since 1999 it has been rotting in place.

It ran at Camden until the end of the 99 season.

It was demolished in November of 2004.

The last time I rode ThunderBolt Express it was more rust than any other color. The ride looked real safe, but still took a loop.

The color change happened at or about the time that Timberwolf opened for it's inaugural season.

I can't believe how ugly it looked after it moved and was in the Red White and Blue color scheme.

And the white was this weird chalky colour that faded big time, the red to pink, and that was before it all began to quickly rust to pieces.

I remember seeing it on a field trip in 7th grade. At the time I had no idea that that was Camden Park, considering I hadn't been since like I was 3ish, and still have yet to again. I just remember coming home and telling my parents about this run-down carnival thing that I had seen from the bus window. It had to be about a month before it was demolished too.

Wow, those are some nice pictures of that ride. Great find! Sad to know that it was allowed to deteriorate so much and eventually had a date with the scrap yard. I`ve never been to Camden park, but passed by it on my way home from vacation a couple years ago while on the express way.

I rode the same type of ride at Fun Spot in angola indiana but a LONG time ago, I dont really remember the ride experience, just being scared to death of the loop. I dont think i was tall enough since I was so young that I dont really remember it, but this place doesnt really enforce rules, except on the go karts.

A while ago, I made a some-what of a recreation on NL of this ride. It turned out pretty nice, since I suck at NL. I also did crappy pre-fab supports when I made it. Later on though, I figured out how to do the auto-suppots on it to ad the walkways on the side.

Thats what really confused me. I checked the RCDB thing and it said the ride was 600+ ft. long. I wondered if that was like 300 forwards, and 300 backwards. I ended up just making it 600 total. So, an error on my behalf definetly.

There were emergency stairs on the return side. But usually when the ride op on the return side switched out they would ride the train over - unlock the restraints - switch out and return.
