PKIVortex
If you go to pki.com and click on calander and flip thru the month's, they have the calander updated for 2007. Park opening April 21st. Not many changes that I can tell. 8pm closings most of Pre-season, and 10pm closing during the summer. One change though the park will open at noon on Saturdays in October. http://www2.paramountparks.com/kingsisland...it_calendar.cfm Or you can click on 2006 calander from PKIC and scroll thru it. flightoffear1996
Thats cool. Is it open daily like Cedar Point is when it first opens? I dont mind the 12 noon openings for FearFest because I never went to the park until the later afternoon.
Reclaimer
What were the usual hours for Nights of Fire? Looks like they're just running 10-10 on the 4th. Is that normal? Also, to throw some fuel into the rumor fires...they left the 1st-6th of November "yellow" active dates. Not open, but notice the rest of the off-season is shaded out? Wonder if they're considering adding a weekend like they have in the past? Also checked the Carowinds calendar for next season...they're still doing their 10-8 hours during July like they did this year. I wonder why they do that? It's a warmer climate, you'd figure they would stay open longer.
PKIDelirium
NOF was 10-10 this year. 10-11 in 2005 I believe.

They start to open for Daily operation the Wednesday before Memorial day, like last year.
CoastersRZ
^ You mean the Wednesday before Memorial Day. Labor Day is in September. Actually, in 2005 NoF was open until midnight. But some of the rides that were shut down because of the fireworks never reopened. I don`t get why they have to open at noon on Saturdays in October, but yet they are opening at 11 on Sundays in October. Doesn`t make much sense to be, I would think it would be the opposite. It also appears, like this year, that FearFest will begin with the last weekend in September.
PKIVortex
Yeah I noticed that after I posted. I edited my post at the same time you were posting. Yeah and that last Friday of September the park is open 6pm to 12am as well. But Friday night in October the park is open 7pm till 12am like it was this year. faeriewench
Those hours don't sound a thing like Cedar Fair, you'd think they'd be likely to add some midnight closes here and there during the regular season. maybe thats just a tenative schedule? Thats what I'll think till come April I guess.
Reclaimer
Cedar Fair is cutting hours...even at Cedar Point.
TopThrill
Thats good we open up on a saturday, not a full friday. Yeah I've seen Cedar Points been cut back.

The Interpreter
Yep....it does indeed make the off-season go faster. That's a good thing.
PKIDelirium
This has got to be the earliest the PKI schedule has ever come out, last year it was february.
CoastersRZ
Yes, I don`t think they ever released their schedule before new year`s before!

PKIVortex
Looks to me as if they pretty much copied this years schedule, except for opening a weekend later, and instead of closing on Wednesday for Daily operation they are open daily thru that sunday, in August. cewldre
Also checked the Carowinds calendar for next season...they're still doing their 10-8 hours during July like they did this year. I wonder why they do that? It's a warmer climate, you'd figure they would stay open longer. According to some of the folks I know from down there, the park does not stay open because, in the past, then they have on occassion, they lose quite a bit of people. Yes, it would be nice for thrill seekers, but they are a business and need to make money. Seems that they either dont make any, or lose money after 8 or so. Apparently, a lot of folks around there still go home and have family meals. So, despite warmer temps, people just don't stick around. Guest faceoff
Just checked pki's calendar and the days in november thru the 10th are yellow shaded. Don't know if this means anything, but maybe something to think about.

KIfan73
^I would think staffing would definitely be an issue there. I would love to see KI open later, though...look at the weather today! Great day to be at the park.
Snake Attack!
It seems like they keep on pushing the start date back and back, I remember in 2005 they opened for dry run like March 31, this year April 15, and now the 21st kind of a bummer
PKIVortex
Just checked pki's calendar and the days in november thru the 10th are yellow shaded. Don't know if this means anything, but maybe something to think about. It looks like the calander program they used, the dates can only be edited up to 12 month's in advance. So the fact that the 10th of November is in yellow for 2007 doesn't mean anything. So if you think about it, today is the 10th of November, so yes the 10th of November of 2007 would be shaded in Yellow now. Tomorrow the 11th will be yellow etc... Reclaimer
PKIVortex was right. Just checked and it's now highlighting the 11th. Great observation!
PKIVortex
Thanks Guys. I wonder if they will change to a normal calendar, where it displays the entire schedule on one page, like the ones on PC's and PGA's sites?
The Interpreter
Somehow I see all the Paramount Parks adopting more Cedar Fair-like websites sooner rather than later. . .
CoastersRZ
Especially if they ditch the whole "Paramount`s" concept from all the Paramount Parks. Then, KI`s website would also likely get a new URL.

Then, KI`s website would also likely get a new URL. Why didn't they get "kingsisland.com" in the first place? They have have carowinds.com, canadaswonderland.com, EVEN kingsdominion.com... PKIDelirium
Good question. Too late now though, kingsisland.com has fallen to a cybersquatter.
