On April 29th, 1972, Kings Island first opened to the public, thirty five years ago to this date, for a series of preview weekends. The park officially had its grand opening on May 27th. Ironically, it rained most of the day on April 29th.

This thread reminds me of the 20th anniversary special where the lady was afraid to slide down the tallest slide at the time in Waterworks. Right before she slides down she says "happy birthday Kings Island". LOL
