Description: Scooby’s Ghoster Coaster was a junior suspended roller coaster with a unique elevator lift. Pairs of riders were lifted to the maximum height and then cruised down a short figure-eight track but into the station.

History: Scooby’s Ghoster Coaster opened in April 1998 as the first roller coaster in the United States manufactured by Dutch company Caripro Amusement Technology. The ride was themed to the popular Scooby-Doo franchise and included bat-shaped ride vehicles and a large haunted house façade.

The attraction’s very limited capacity of only two riders in each car resulted in very long queue times. Its last season was 2005, after which it was replaced with Avatar: The Last Airbender (today known as Surf Dog) in 2006. The ride’s track and cars sat in storage at the park for several years after its removal. The track was scrapped sometime between 2012 and 2013. The ride vehicles remained backstage for several additional years before ultimately being removed too.
