  1. Does Intamin still make the Drunken Barrels model? If they do then Der Spinnen Kegger has to return if not to Oktoberfest then to Kings Island in general.
  2. That Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle audio hit me hard in the nostalgia! I used to ride that thing ten times in a row when we visited Kings Island. I know people really hate it for replacing Phantom Theater, but The Scooby Doo ride will always have a place in my heart.
  3. Oh, that makes sense! I figured they were talking about Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canals, but I wasn't aware there was a cove in the tittle.
  4. Sorry, I'm new here and I'm not very good with abbreviations. What does KCKC mean?
  5. I always wondered why they referred to the sections in Hanna Barbara land as sections of pie.
  6. Thank you! I knew they were in Hanna-Barbara land, but I had no clue what kind of rides they were. The picture pretty cool too
  7. I don't know if this is the right thread to ask in, but I had found an article that mentioned opening day attractions that were brought over to Kings Island from Coney Island. Two of the attractions listed were Kikiki Kangaroo and Motor Mouse. I've searched all over for more information on these two rides but I couldn't find any. Have any of you heard of/ remember these two attractions, or at least have info on them. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/entertainment/2019/09/09/history-old-coney-island-rides-relocated-kings-island-1972/2266831001/ Here's the article I found
  8. I completely forgot about the Antique Cars. That's another ride I haven't ridden. I choose to re-ride Vortex instead when the group I was with rode them (a good decision considering I couldn't get back to Ki for a final ride)
  9. I feel the same about The Beast and Batman at Six Flags St Louis.(Though Batman didn't make my top five) I've never worked at an Amusement park like you, but both rides were milestones for me. The Beast was my first intense/wild coaster and after riding it for the first time I felt so much stronger. To this day there is no ride that makes me feel as alive as The Beast does, and I can't say that I don't get nostalgic while looking at my ride photos. I will argue that this coaster help make me the rough rider I am today, and that is one of the many reasons that it is my number one (It's an amazing ride to me, even when I throw my bias to the side) Batman on the other hand was my first Inverted coaster. I was immensely scared of the rides forces. After riding though it became one of my favorite rides and another ride that fills me with deep nostalgia. It has since fallen out of my top five(I don't if it even hits my top twenty), but just climbing up the lift hill gets my memories racing.
  10. Here's my ratings. Please note that I will not give a kiddie coaster over a 5( It's not like I don't think there fun, but they aren't very intense) and that just because I rank a coaster at 5 or lower doesn't mean I think of it as a kiddie coaster/ tame ride. A 5 or below rating can mean two different things depending on the coaster's targeted audience. The Bat/Top Gun: 7/10 Adventure Express: 6/10 Invertigo: 7/10 The Beast: 10/10 (My number 1 at the park) Diamondback: 10/10 (My number 2 at the park) Banshee: 9.5/10 (Tied for my number 3) Mystic Timbers: 9.5/10 (Tied for my number 3) Flight of Fear: 8.5/10 Backlot Stunt Coaster: 6.5/10 The Racers: 6.5/10 Woodstock Express: 5/10 Reptar (I know it has a new name, but it's super long): 4/10 Great Pumpkin Coaster 3/10 (Honestly I'm guessing. I haven't ridden it in years) Defunct Rides Vortex: 8.5/10 (I'd usually rank it lower, but it was actually pretty smooth last season. When it's smooth enough the ride is actually really fun) Firehawk: 5/10 (I actually think the ride was a 7, but the restraints were a bit uncomfortable so it knocked it down a few numbers) Scooby's Ghoster Coaster: 2.5/10 (another guess since I don't remember this coaster and I know I have the credit, but I was very little when I got it)
  11. When the park does open, hopefully in may, I am really looking forward to getting some rides on The Beast. I only got to ride it once last season and it was a bad one. It was really hot and sunny outside and I sat in a wheel seat, so the ride felt like it was going a lot slower then usual. I'd love to get some better rides on it this season, including a night and even a rain ride if I can. I also would like to get some better rides on Banshee as both the rides I was able to get last season were kinda painful.
  12. Other than a few newer kiddie rides, these two rides are the only ones there I haven't ridden. If they are going to upcharge you to get on a ride, then they should upcharge you for something other than a simple carnival ride.
  13. I'm glad I choose not to ride it when we went to Magic Mountain. I had rode Green Lantern earlier that day, and once I saw it was a 4D coaster I instantly turned around. I didn't want to take my chances on it just being a bigger and rougher version of Green Lantern; I wanted to look into it first.
  14. Yeah that's true. I definitely don't think they'll reuse it, but I also have a bad case of wishful thinking.
  15. They should add some flat rides there. KI needs some new flat rides.
  16. Arrow: The Bat B&M: Fury 325 Intamin: Maverick Wooden: The Beast Vekoma: I think I'm split between Invertigo and Firehawk
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they reused some of the footers (and the stairs on the lift) from The Bat for Vortex? It'd be cool if they reused Vortex's footers.
  18. Why did you hate it? I've never ridden it, and all I've heard are awesome reviews, so I'd love to hear a different opinion on it.
  19. That's how I've always felt with older wooden coasters. I was one of the very few people who enjoyed the original Meanstreak. People said the layout was boring, but I always rode it for it's roughness. I think wooden coaster roughness can go well with speed. On The Beast it makes the ride more wild and out of control (unless you ride it when it's to hot and the coaster meanders down the track for most of the ride). That's why I love to ride it in the back of the train (I probably couldn't have done Meanstreak in the back. I have limits). But I still think wooden coasters can also be to rough (see my rant on The Boss above)
  20. I never got the hate hate either. I thought they were fine on coasters like Val Raven or Bluehawk. The only coaster I've had problems with vest restraints on is Banshee. I got a few rough rides on it the last time I visited and the restraints just made it even more painful. But the pain I got on the ride was not the restraints fault.
  21. I think its both. They added it there cause it's The Beast car but they put the blue car next to it to remind us that The Racer has a red and blue side.
