Why do people hate the Paramount Period of KI?
raptor replied to RD Reynolds's topic in Kings Island History
I ain't saying there's anything wrong with it, many people like that stuff, I just personally do not. Most of the new rides were always named after Movies, they left the old rides that predated Paramounts alone, but new rides tended to revolve around movies and were created that way. Don't forget the Paramount's Story, and the music was mostly Paramount movie songs weren't they, I just personally don't care for it, but that's just me, I just like carnival atmosphere. -
Why do people hate the Paramount Period of KI?

I personally hate the Theme Park concept, a park designed around promoting an organization at every corner. I like traditional multiple-themed amusement parks. I got tired of seeing Paramount Movie advertisements and every ride having to be connected to a movie -
I'd prefer The Enchanted Voyage the way it originally was as well, however I'd take it anyway I could get it!

1) Enchanted Voyage 2) Tumblebug 3) Skylab (Can I pick a ride that replaced another ride I picked (Tumblebug)? 4) Antique Cars 5) Flying Eagles

Maybe it will be thrilling and maybe not, but if it isn't, so what, does everything have to be a thrill ride? While Millennium Force is my favorite ride, I'm just as fond of non-thrill rides as I am thrill rides.

I generally don't like to ride a ride till it's been running a few weeks to let it discover any problems, not usually on coasters, but on other thrill rides, so I'll probably wait a few weeks to ride it.

Looks like a nice addition to me, it may or may not be something I like, won't know till I ride it, but it's something different. I love coasters as much as anyone, but the problem with amusement parks anymore as far as I'm concerned is it's coasters this and coasters that. It's not a coaster park it's an amusement park, and I like to see variety. We have plenty of coasters.

Ah, Les Taxi's and the Skylab just go back another 5 or 6 years and throw in the the Enchanted Voyage, to die for!

that part was so cool, hope it returns soon

This is my favorite amusement park video, I recorded it when it first came on about 10 years ago, very good!

I wonder how much higher a season pass would be
-
Ah! since it was crowded yesterday, hopefully it won't be so today

It's a haunted house, it's suppose to be a little scary, that's the whole point. Compared to other haunted house rides I've been on it's not that scary.

One of the things I loved the most about this ride was that it loaded outside. It was like you got into a boat and rode off to this magical place and then at the end you came back out into the real world again.

They need to create a new way to get to boomerang bay and turn this back into a train ride instead of the transport to the waterpark that it has become, nothing but a bunch of rowdy kids waiting to get to water slides has ruined the peace of this ride and having to sit all that time as they depart and board takes away from it as well. I would love to see this get renovated back into what it used to be, and if the powers that be were so interested in bringing the history back (such as getting rid of the backwards racer) this should be at the top of the list.

Leap The Dips at Lakemont Park now an upcharge
raptor replied to raptor's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
When I was there on a Saturday last June I never had a wait to get on it. I agree on a wristband that cost more and includes the LTD. Even if it was $1 I'd ride it 4 or 5 times, but at $2.50 a pop, that can add up in a hurry. -
It would've been nice to see some more new stuff in the beginning but it was a major improvement, I always said before the ride was much more about Scooby Doo than a haunted house, so major improvement it is now more of a haunted house.
-
Also The Red Racer, I don't know if it was down all day, but it was certainly crowded enough to have both running
-
Looks like one of the coldest days since spring weather got here, but as long as it doesn't rain I'll be happy
-
Or fix the carousel organ, but that would take some serious donations.

3D, One can only hope that it won't be as awful as Garfield's Nightmare at Kennywood, I don't like the name, I may like the ride better than it was before though, I always thought it was too much about Scooby Doo, And not enough about being a haunted house.
