  1. Where do you think it will be located, as its former location is a construction site?
  2. Personally, I'm much more excited for this Thursday's announcement than I was for 2014's. Then we knew a lot more than we do now, especially the name and manufacturer. We also knew it was going into a large, empty field pretty much. Now though, much more is still up in the air and we know it is going in the woods likely interacting with the lake and WWC, which is much more exciting location than a field. The precise location of the announcement has yet to be revealed. It likely won't be known until Thursday.
  3. Manufacturer: GCI Layout: Just as seen in the blueprint. Will interact with the lake and WWC. Length: Around 3,300 feet. No inversions, 100-125 feet tall. No records other than most wooden track in one park. Name and theme will have to do with nature or wooded areas.
  4. Yeah, and?EjectorAir runs Ohio Valley Coasters. He's just sharing his video with us all. And what a great video it is, EjectorAir. It's really neat to watch the progression of the clearing like that.
  5. I see your side. I guess it's just a matter of personal opinion on what 'out of room' means. The parking lot, for example, if moved off Point, I would view as making room where they are currently out of room.
  6. When did the 2014 season pass sale start? Was it with Banshee's announcement or later? (I wouldn't know. My family always procrastinates until literally the last hour of Fall prices to renew our passes.) If 2014's sale did start with Banshee's announcement I wouldn't be surprised to see them start the sale earlier than usual.
  7. How so? If the park had a patch of trees or grasslands, hence undeveloped, you'd say that was room to expand to wouldn't you? In order to expand something that is developed; whether it be parking, resorts, buildings, or attractions; would have to go. I don't see how this is supposed to work against my point. To me this confirms the park knows something will always have to go and are therefore always analyzing what the best options for removal are.
  8. Rob Decker gave a recent interview to The A.V. Club. http://www.avclub.com/article/what-happens-roller-coaster-once-its-over-hill-239738?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=Main:1:Default Regarding the "Cedar Point is not out of room" talk, I found this quote particularly interesting: He pretty much sums up my thoughts whenever I read someone claiming CP is not out of room. Very few of their recent additions did not require the removal of some other building or attraction. Excluding 2015 as it was a makeover of an existing ride, I believe 2011 was the last year nothing was removed. I'm not sure about 2014's additions, though. But still, that'd be 3 of the last 4 additions requiring the removal of something existing. And with the removal of the Go Karts and Skyscraper, that would seem likely to become 4 out of 5 with next season's likely Soak City expansion.
  9. I still see your point, but the Reds still come. In fact Reds day 2016 is a week from now on the 21.
  10. Ooh. Imagine how cool it would be if they revived Kenton's Cove into the theme or name. Kenton's Cove Lumberjack, anyone?
  11. Dang, I was just about to post this myself. I think I'll try and make it there once for this. Hopefully, Friday or Sunday for a movie, but my graduation party is Saturday, so we may end up too busy.
  12. Is Brand S SIX or SEAS? I was told this on a Sunday morning when I was second in line to get in and the park had not opened. "But, Sir, the computer says..." Six people and 30 minutes later, I left. Life is too short for such mendacity. Oh, gosh! I saw that story before, but I missed that the park wasn't even open yet. That's just... wow...no words.
  13. Not at KD. They made me remove my belt so it would not set off the wand detector. I didn't have to remove my belt any of the three times I walked through KD's metal detectors last week.
  14. ^^They did. I just ride I-305 the other day. It blew me away, by the way. I way underestimated it.
  15. Really!? You're the first person I've seen that opinion from. I think Power Tower is fairly boring in comparison to Drop (Zone) Tower.
  16. I've thought "Little Miami Splashdown" would be a cool name for it. I even came up with a new sign (The splash would have to be made out of a product like Lucite, and would be lit at night with blue and white LEDs that would cause it to shimmer). Something like this would add local flavor to the ride, and would add just a touch of theme on par with the Banshee sign... enjoy! That's the best suggestion so far. And the park should hire you as sign designer or something.
  17. Same here. I laughed when the article stated "Fourty-five feet sounds long." Um, no. Quite the opposite actually. Not at all worth the $33 to go up and ride. This, however, I would gladly pay the price for: http://arcelormittalorbit.com/whats-on/the-slide/
  18. It was on their event page for the holiday party. The location was changed to "To Be Determined" and someone made a post asking for confirmation to which GOCC confirmed it. I'd post a link, but I'm on my phone.
  19. That right there is the reason I didn't bother to buy FunPix. This is my family's first year with Platinum passes. I knew we'd be spending less time at Kings Island, spreading out among at least four parks (KI, CP, KD, Cw). Sure, the pass is cheap at one park, but to have to buy the same thing again it would really add up. Hopefully 2016's run is a success and they allow inter park usage in 2017.
  20. I just saw on Facebook that Great Ohio Coaster Club will unfortunately no longer be holding their holiday party at Kings Island this year. I was really looking forward to being able to attend my first event of that type. Of course, there's still a chance I'll be able to go, but it's certainly not as high as when I knew it'd be just a short 40 minute drive. I wonder what caused the change?
  21. I don't know, man. They put a lot of good information out there (this time) so they can't be that bad.Would you pick Buzz over TPR? I mean, that's the big two... Let's just say I used to be a staff member there, and the behind the scenes crap is beyond idiotic. If y'all wonder why I can pull up info on coasters/parks so quickly, its because I did loads of research being a news and editorial writer over there as well as writing a few rides and park pages (all of which have been changed and/or removed since my departure). As Forrest Gump would say- That's all I have to say about that. Ha.I received a permanent ban today on TPR for the offense of posting "Perhaps calling people stupid and idiots is not helpful to the discussion. I rarely find them persuasive." In one post and that was it. Some unnamed entusiast from Orlando was ranting about the WDW alligator incident. Everyone who disagreed with him was a moron, stupid or an ******* idiot. So he deleted my post, banned me and continued to rant. Then later this afternoon all the posts in that thread after the incident were deleted. Me thinks someone's wife got home and wasn't to happy. Ha! I was banned from TPR years ago for a similar reason. Mr. Bob Avery himself* had gotten into a debate with another poster following the New Texas Giant incident. Suddenly he turned completely rude towards the other, calling him a troll and such. I thought I'd be the nice guy and made a nice post stating how unnecessary it was to call this "troll" a troll. The next morning, I got on and saw that my post and the whole debate preceding it had been deleted with a post from Avery stating that he cleaned up the discussion a bit. At first I was impressed that I actually got through to Avery. Then I realized he had also banned me. Yes, he banned the person that convinced him to remove his own unkind posts. Makes sense, right? *Robb Alvey for those who don't understand Um, no. I boycott any YouTube video from TPR even more vigorously than I boycott their site itself.
  22. Hmm, very perplexing. Perhaps my idea of a line is much shorter than yours.
