  1. Call me crazy but when I go to an amusement park I have the expectation that I will be waiting in line most of the day for rides, food, etc.
  2. I see no evidence of AZ bing a jerk. If saying someone has posted incorrect information is being a jerk then I believe we are all guilty. You made the statement "Recently they have been doing it that way." When I read this I thought you knew what you were talking about, not an "educated guess" developed from talking to/overhearing "higher ups." As it turns out, you were wrong (intentional or not), they don't do it that way. AZ pointed this out and went on to explain what the protocal actually is.
  3. There's always the recently famous topic surrounding the Fast Lane option.
  4. So you think that CF is actually placing Halloween props in the park hinting at what they are going to do with SOB? I think you are being dooped by some entertainment employees having fun with Halloween props.
  5. Hank's Back Porch Bar Adventure Express at night
  6. Magnum, Did you by chance stop at guest services on your way out and tell them about your experience while waiting in line for the train the first time? I hope you did because if that was indeed the case, it sounds like the train crew needs to be talked to about how they are letting the fright lane guests onto the ride.
  7. The park is traditionally bought out by large corporations (P&G, GE, Toyota, etc.) on all weekends following labor day in September. This has been the case for sometime now.
  8. I think that would depend on if that baby will be trick-or-treating. If mom and dad are just going to carry the little tyke through the DA area while big bro/sis go trick or treating I say no charge. Now if mom or dad is taking them in to trick-or-treat AKA mom and dad trick-or treating and reaping the benefits from so called trick-or treating, I say charge them.
  9. The people on KI's Facebook page were *itching up a storm last night...but then again when aren't they.
  10. We can narrow it down to 3 as theses companies traditionally buy the park out during September: Toyota, P & G, or GE

  12. Happens all the time... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12811
  13. They would have to charge a lot more for parking, to get in the gate, and for pictures just to break even.
  14. ^My take on the comments in the article was that he immediately tried to re-enter the park after having been asked to leave...not months later.
  15. Seems pretty fair to me. They originally banned him for the remainder of the season and asked him to leave the property. So what did he do, tried to re-enter despite the orders he was just given. Another example of someone who is trying to place blame elsewhere despite their own actions causing their misfortune.
  16. Might I pass along a suggestion to anyone looking for a plan when it comes to vacations in Florida... Vacation Adventure Architects http://www.vacationbuilding.com/ This is a company started by a former PKI employee who has a number of different plans for you to choose from. I recommend checking him out if you plan on vacationing in Florida and hitting up one of the many attractions.
  17. $30 / 8 (additional days to visit - assuming that one will actually attend all 8 extra days) = $3.75 per day per pass Really people? You're complaining about the park that everyone has been raving about for years and raving about the perks that it offers it's visitors because they are offering 8 extra days to visit for an additional $30? From what I can tell, the park closes on October 9 this year. So if they are offering all 4 weekends in October in 2012, that means they have 4-6 extra days of operation that they need to pay wages, utilities, not to mention paying for the new Halloween event and the "complimentary" soft drink and sun screen. As has been mentioned before countless times on this site, these parks are businesses. Their revenues must exceed their expenses or they won't be in business for very long.
  18. The restraints have sensors that can tell if they are closed. I'm sorry, I meant the ride attendants, themselves. Thanks for answering that. To answer your question, the ride ops are able to communicate with each other to give the all clear as well as communicate during the cycle.
  19. AE is one of those rides that only gets better at night. I have always thought that it is the most under appreciated rides at night in the park. It just usually isn't at the top of most people's list when they are thinking about what to ride before the park closes.
  20. Well said... I also thought that the poster was younger. Being in your 30's, Magnumfan, I would expect that "you know better than that." This may also explain the reaction received by the police officer. He probably figured a 30 some year old knew better than to run through the park, hence his reaction towards childish behavior.
  21. Then it would be like any other coaster instead of being a true mine train coaster.
  22. You consider it stupid, but it is actually one of the distinguishing features that AE is known for. Also, AE is considered by some to be one of the best mine train coasters in operation today only behind Disney's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
  23. Here's where I started forming my opinion over your incident... You admit to hearing the officer yell "walk" and admit to ignoring the order. While his behavior was unprofessional, you did start the chain of events that morning by not adhering to their orders. Obviously you know nothing about park security...this was a park police officer not an 18 year old security guard. They are required to attend a police academy and attain OPOTA certification just like any other police officer in the state of Ohio and most are from local police departments. Try calling one of them a mall cop to their face and see where that gets you.
  24. It's very dificult for any ride to meet max capacity. If one were operating a roller coaster, the next train would need to be filled checked and sent out by the time the previous train cleared the block. This would need to occur consistently for an hour, which is very difficult to do. Pulling a Terpy now... MarketingExpress who reached the maximum cycles allowed on AE and IJST (now BLSC) a few times in his (P)KI career.
