The Son of Beast Discussion Thread

If it is, it is highly unlikely you will know it then...

In addition, park spokespeople, under the terms of the Merger Agreement, MUST say that things are going as usual and the merger is recommended...or not comment on it at all. Otherwise, Apollo is due a huge penalty under the agreement. If the agreement does not get the required votes, then Apollo still gets a parting gift....

As I am not a Cedar Fair employee, agent or even a moderator on this site, I am under no such restrictions. I do not, however, publicly advocate that any person or organization vote their units in any particular way...

I do, however, have a question. Other than Cedar Fair's management and perhaps other parties who will directly benefit financially from the supposed merger (like Apollo), has ANYONE come out publicly and recommended voting FOR the "merger?"

Finally, for the young person (as that is probably who it will be) saying "This is the Son of Beast topic and this is off topic," I strongly submit you are not correct...the company, its parks and perhaps even some of the moderators here would say otherwise.

Time will tell.

They signed the agreement, which speaks for itself...

In the spirit of full disclosure, the proxy notes that Mr. Kinzel abstained from the vote recommending the merger.

Also, Cedar Fair LP is quite insistent it is a merger and not a sale.

Whether or not the board acted in the company's best interest as a whole is the subject of ongoing litigation...

Yep. And what are they up to? I would point out two things:

a. Q is coincidentally the first letter in Question...and I have many about that....

b. This will dramatically affect the fate of the parks...and now, let's go back to directly discussing Son of Beast and its fate, or move over to the merger thread...

Well, I think I'm finished sharing. As a Fan of K.I. as all of you obviously are, I thought it would be nice if someone who did have actual information about the future of S.O.B. share it ; especially after 49 pages of speculation ! After a year of looking at this site off and on I never regesterd or posted until this past Friday because I did not have anything to say until that point. Now I wonder how many other insightful posts have been deleted that I never got to see just because someone thought their toes were getting stepped on? It seems that keeping people guessing is part of the point of this website and I really did not know that until now.Well I have better things to do.For those of you who did read my post, believe it.Who ever deleted my post knows it's true too. I just know that there will be a flurry of activity(in a constructive, positive way) around a certain wooden structure around the Kings mills/ Mason area this winter...IS THAT VAGUE ENOUGH?? Probably not.... this post will be deleted too...

Winter is nearly over...

^ I wouldn't really know what to make of that. To me, that's almost evidence to say that it might be sitting SBNO in 2010. As much as I would hate for that to happen. You would think if they were removing it this year, then they would have started demolishing it already. Although if it were to open in 2010, I'm not sure if there would even be activity around it, if they aren't modifying the track or anything. I guess I'm sort of just thinking aloud here.

My guess about the parking signs is, they would rather promote Diamondback, one of the park's brand new star attractions, then a ride they aren't sure what to do with. I wouldn't really take it as a sign yet, but I could be wrong.

Well Cedar Fair doesn't like the Son of Beast experience, but is apparently a-okay with the Crypt one...

Not saying I disagree with either opinion, but it's definitely interesting to note, and proves that it wouldn't be the first time that the general public and Cedar Fair have disagreed. ;)

But why wouldn't they have done that last year? I'm sure it cost more than a few nickels to make the new signs...

This is a little off topic, but I'm glad posts on KIC have become a little more civilized lately. It really seems like the Son of Beast topic is a great example. A few months ago people were fighting all the time in this topic, and now it's sort of calmed down. People actually are listening to each other's opinions, and post quality has improved. There's actually discussion instead of just arguing. B)

From what I've seen from outside the park (I have not been in AZ, or even close), SoB appears to not have been touched over the offseason. Whether that's evidence for/against its removal, I don't know.

Son of Beast also appeared to "not have been touched" while the loop was removed, but from areal pictures taken you could clearly see that more work had been done than removing the loop and replacing it with a bunny hop.

the way most people complain about the ride, the part that you see the most is not the problem area, it's the bottom of the rose bowl, which very little can been seen of while not inside the park, or anywhere but on the maintinace paths for that matter.
