  2. And Kings Island underprices at admissions for the quality of experience offered, then UPcharges for food, games, parking, added attractions and even FastLane. Two very different ways of doing business. Two very different target markets. Two very different owners. Right? Wrong? No, just very different.

  3. No no, very little of it is still downtown. It isn't very Ferris to wheel that sort of judgment in here after the park's worked so hard to reduce how much time is wasted in downtown!

  6. Having worked 3 seasons at Cedar Point now, I have countless stories I could tell that make me shake my head. The best probably came from this summer at Millennium Force, we had stopped a train on the lift (on purpose), and were down for a short period of time. I was working at the entrance during this particular incident, when this guy split off from his group (rudely) demanding to know why I wasn't letting them in. After trying to really explain the situation to him to no avail, I gave up and politely informed him that the ride had run out of gas. He said "Oh," and then went back to his group and repeated it to them, so they decided to walk across to Mantis, which was, and had been for awhile, down as well...When they came back wanting to know why Mantis was down, I told him we shared fuel tanks, and they were having the same issue as we were...He again bought it, and they walked away...

  8. Looks like the same company that did the media kit for the Carowinds WS also did the media kit for Dollywoods BS. http://tlcreativedesign.com/Barn2/

  10. Wow...not even close. They are decent, but pale in comparison to Beast, Diamonback, MF, TTD, Magnum....the list goes on. I personally think the coaster collection at HW is the most overrated in the industry. A very fun park for what it is, but I would put it on par with Dollywood and other smaller parks. I don't even consider it to be in the same league with the "big boys" of the industry. Now, do I adore those parks? Yes...give me some Dollywood and HW any day, but certainly not for the coasters. All that said, I wish (and hope) that Cedar Fair exercised about 10% of the care and creativity that parks like HW do. A smaller park like that has so much going for it outside a world-class coaster collection.

  12. I know a lot of people (including me) have wanted a museum in KI for a long time. It would be very cool IMO.

  13. I think it would be neat if for the 40th Anniv they put in a museum! With parts and trains from old rides, props, Music from rides playing, memorabilia, old commercials on TVs, stuff like that.
