Gator - that 48" height is magical at KI. I hope GatorGirl enjoys the new rides as much as Kyle did (late 2009) and Neil did (mid last summer). Your KI experience has changed - remember to include rides like Zephyr on your itinerary also, and be prepared for the "I want to ride by myself" big girl attitude! This summer, I resolve to enjoy a new season with my boys after last was cut short surprisingly. I look forward to more 54" rides with Kyle (he only has the DB credit) and seeing Neil expand his confidence on the 48" rides (BLSC and AE aren't favorites yet and he has yet to conquer Drop Tower).

hey guys, i was just reading a forum about past owners of ki and a question popped into my mind about the sell to Cedar Fair. when Kings Island was sold, were there any companies other than cf that were interested in purchasing pki?

Did you go to the Winterfest in 2005? Santa`s Workshop was one of the best live shows that I`ve seen at Kings Island in a while. The focus was on entertainment and not rides. In fact, only the train, the dark ride and about two other kiddie rides were even open for Winterfest. It was all about live shows and entertainment. And isn`t the point of Winterfest to attract families and not necessarily the thrill seekers or those who come to ride the rides. What I`m saying is that a winter event is not that far off from the clientele that Ouimet wants to attract to the park. I`m not saying the even is going to return, just that the target market aligns with who Ouiment wants to dry and draw to the park, based on that article.

Congrats! My little one will turn 1 on September 4th!

Maybe this year I'll actually go to Soak City.

I'm looking forward to my daughter (who turns 2 in March) being able to do much more in the park this Summer. Of course, by the time Haunt rolls around, we'll have another little one to be taking along (we're due September 4th)!

That is a nice post. I learned something today! ... because for some reason the Native American tribes that inhabited the region for hundreds of years before avoided the 1600 acre parcel of land.
