Okay, so let's recap today's action in the What's Next For Son of Beast? forum, shall we? BY THE NUMBERS: - 4 posts about the knowledge of new decisions being made about Kings Island - 3 funny pictures - 7...? 7 whats? - 4 posts about the demolition of SoB, including one about Delirium being used as a wrecking ball for SoB? - countless amounts of sarcasm WHAT WE LEARNED(...?) - some people are bent on destroying SoB in any way possible - we have two new Dippin' Dots guys working at the park! - the SoB station is apparently a werewolf lounge - Timberwolf hosts one magical weekend of music all year, and it is named Jeebus Fest (Don't get offended by this post, please. All in good humor, right?)1 point

kblanken's link worked for me; I got a free all-day drinks wristband! This is such a cool idea. EDIT: Just checked my username and password on the funperks.com site, and it works.1 point

I take it you know all the words to the "Hut Sut Song", eh? Thank goodness for Brian Setzer, or some of us might not have made it through the 1980s!1 point

No idea if you have any inside information or not, but playing along, my bet would be Timberwolf. It's only used once a year anyways. You have to figure that the SOB space is not going to sit like it is forever... Timberwolf is a giant waste of real estate...they only use it for Jeebus-Fest one weekend a year now, anyway.1 point

If I recall correctly Mr.Oumiet made a statement that I rather enjoyed. I am not going to quote it because I do not remember the order of the sentence but it when something along these lines. You can't go back to the old ways of thing only use the idea and expand upon it. So for example, Kings Island was great in the 80s but returning the park to the state would be foolish, take in account what they(Taft/KECO) did. Use some concepts and ideas but build from that and away, and create a whole new generation that someday will be remembered as the 80s were. I feel, no I know, we are entering a new generation for Kings Island. A new age is upon the park and I am very excited!1 point

You always down play the employees at the park and it's getting rather annoying. You're obviously butthurt. Just because you didn't enjoy it doesn't mean everyone else feels the same. Just like any other job I guarentee most employees with Cedar Fair enjoy their positions, that is if they have a good attitude. Not "butthurt" at all. I agree with you, but I'm also thinking of it realistically. The summers are hotter than hell here, and often times when they are out there in that heat for 5+ hours it gets to you. Even if they like what they are doing (now) doesn't mean they won't have an off day or two. But again the employees will put on the facade of being happy and friendly which is what they should do. I say this, we should wait till Mid July, mid August and see if the Awesome Attitude is still there (Which it must likely will but not as great as it was on Opening Day/weeks afterward). You are right. I hope the current trend is the norm, but the park has been open a handful of days. Once the daily grind sets in, and the "new" job has worn off, it will be intresting to see if the happiness continues.1 point

I spend alot of time in Planet Snoopy with my daughter and I will say that all of the ride operators there are awesome. Not to say that they were not last year but this year they do seem happier. They even made me laugh a few times . I even like some of the new props they have around the area. The front gate people were also really happy it seemed. I feel overall that the park itself has a better positive feel to it. Cant wait to see the park on travel channel .1 point

Personally I believe that what you are doing right now is great sir. The Soak City photos have helped me know more of whats new at the water park. Maybe during the off season inbetween the summer and fall operating seasons, some photos of Halloween Haunt scenery. With the way you have uploaded, and kept enthusiasts update on whats happening at Kings Island, I believe you will do this easily. No complaints from me!1 point

Cedar Fair is turning KI back into a park, I always felt like KI was just a commercial during Paramounts days.1 point

You are doing a great job on Facebook, and Twitter posting photos and information about Kings Island, it really helps KI PR!1 point

Turning one side of The Racer backwards was former marketing director Tom Nowlin's idea in May, 1982 when the park was looking for a way to compensate for The Bat roller coaster being closed for the year.1 point

I would remove SOB, move Stunt Coaster to the Action Zone (I think it would be a better fit there), have GCI build a terrain coaster in the valley where SOB was and build some sort of antique car family type ride with a lot of landscaping again in the middle of the park.1 point

As kids, mom used to sneak food in under the stroller... long after my youngest brother was not stroller age :/ We always had hot, smashed pb&j and salami and mustard sandwiches... I mean completely banged to bit and usually a bit soggy that we would eat again in the car on the way home. To this day i think they taste better that way. I think riding The Beast last every night sounds lovely! I don't remember doing it more than a few times. What a perfect way to end the day.1 point

Now 4 months definitely seem even longer. Your hard work and talents have really been impressive. I can't imagine the hours you must have spent with the sounds of coasters and shouts of happy people riding and having a great time all around while you stood there going, "Maybe one more inch to the left.....or should I tilt up and zoom out....geez it's hot out here.....I don't think this is the right station!" To come to your defense, the Skyride buckets did eventually get over to the station you photographed. Thanks again for this. Now if we could only come up with something to argue about, or debate for the next four months.1 point

Many thanks to those who bring a little history to us, it's an era in parks I wish I had been able to enjoy. This video and all the ones the user created are also a must check out, they nearly bring tears to my eyes.1 point
