  1. The Coasting for Kids event went very well this year. We had a fun and exhausting day. KIfan1980 came and took some pictures for us. We not only got to enjoy The Racer, but a Beast walk back, and an early entry to Ed's magic show. Kings Island did an awesome job of keeping us occupied for the full day! A big thanks to KI and The Racer crew for making it such a fun day! I have made a video that shows our day using my pictures, videos, and pictures from KIfan1980 that walks through our day that will be at the bottom of my post. Here is a picture that KIfan1980 took of a few KIC'ers. KIC'ers during lunch. Here is the video that I put together of our day with a special guest appearance by KI Enthusiast Dude during lunch! Thanks for watching!

  2. I'm surprised BB1 hasn't posted yet about a family at the park saying "Let's go to Soak City!" Hopefully someone understands.

  4. And please don't worry about being flamed. We are, for the most part, a friendly group, trying to help. If someone flames you for asking a question, you've learned something important about them! Welcome. Please stay and enjoy.

  6. It was great to finally participate in this event. I had been wanting to do it since it's first year but it always fell when we were taking our vacation, and now that this year we're not taking a big week-long one, I could do it! Hearing from the families that were directly impacted by GKTW really brought home the true meaning for doing it, and a big thank you goes out to everyone involved in making Coasting for Kids such a great experience. It was nice to see everyone that I already knew from here, and great to meet everyone else for the first time too. I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be after my 96 laps. The tops of my thighs hurt from the lapbar if you put pressure on just the right spot, but that's it. I didn't even have to take any of the Advil that I brought. I guess that's mainly due to the fact that I rode mostly in the 2nd rows of the cars. And TombRaiderFTW, sorry about the "I woke up too early... at 6:15!" comment. I just had to say it!

  7. My favorite would have to be The Voyage! While I do love The Beast, Voyage is a crazy, exhilarating adventure of a rollercoaster. I even rode it last year when it was considered the roughest it had ever been. I can't wait to go again this year to experience it in all its retracked glory!

  8. The Voyage is now my favorite wooden coaster. Sorry, Kings Island and The Beast. I rode The Voyage about two weeks ago, re-track and all. I have nothing to compare to. The Voyage is an awesome roller coaster. Anyone who can make the trip, Holiday World has 3 wonderful wooden delights. I also have to comment, the staff was A++ Every single person we came in contact with were truly glad that you were there to enjoy the park. BTW- Unlimited drinks all day

  10. Spent the afternoon at the park. This time I decided to actually ride rides so I went and rented myself a locker to keep my cameras put away (tiresome carrying them around). Diamondback and The Beast were the first stop, I'm convinced Beast loves his female riders too much. Also got to ride WindSeeker, Adventure Express (multiple times) and my typical favorite Flight Deck (multiple times). I also saw Ed Alonzo's show. I've always been fond of his performances out at Knott's, this is no exception. He's very entertaining (and as of late I been needing laughs anyway), little bunny is adorable and I also like the dancer's outfits. 12. Hey, Album Reviews is over in another thread! LOL that they crammed into the dryer, though. I guess the photo booths don't have that added element of "danger." Well i am a man at work, in the land down under, or better yet the one who just breathes and is another brick in the wall.

  15. Perhaps this is the part of the thread where I bring up the fact that Ed Alonzo's magic shows are notorious for being raunchy and/or juvenile, as he has been a staple of Knott's Halloween Haunt for years (faeriewench will back me up on this one). The show's supposed to be geared more towards an older audience what with ze dancing girls and the potty humor. How KI managed to bring this show to a regular seasonal audience (rife with families and younger folk) is beyond me. Let me also bring up the fact that I have yet to visit the park, therefore I have yet to see his show in person, and I have only seen his show via YouTube. But it sounds as if they still have quite a number of kinks to work out before M&M gets to 100%. - Me, who only knows much ado about nothing...

  16. Topics like this make me glad I'm no longer a part of the Kings Island fan community. Ripping on the show is one thing, calling someone "hideous" is another. Grow the hell up.
