I meant to add to the other thread that the locker prices are just plain stealing as well. Yes, that is just too darn high.

No DB, no FH, increasingly generic uniforms, less park identity, outdated movie references, no FUNPerks, an increasingly faded and out-of-touch Nick Universe, decaying waterpark...

This is something I've complained about all the time - the height restrictions at Kings Island. It makes me angry how strict they are, because my little sister loves roller coasters, but is not even 4 feet tall. I feel really bad for her, because one day one of her other friends (a year older) could ride The Racer, but my sis couldn't. Examples are Adventure Express (48"). How is this 48"? It may be a bit rough, but it is just like Big Thunder Mountain at Disney World, but BTMR is 40"! Congo Falls - 46". At Universal Studios, Jurassic Park River Adventure has a very steep drop that is 85', and the restriction is 42"! One that I really don't understand is Zephyr...48"? How!? You sit in chairs and spin around! I don't understand the restrictions one bit. Now to a question; does anyone here know (striked out, for you know why) what decides the height restrictions for rides? The park, the company, the state, etc. I would think it is somewhat the state's decision or some park board, or whatever, I don't know these things, but seeing how most rides at the major theme parks in Florida have very low height restrictions, it's weird how different it is at Kings Island. So, who decides it? Is it based on the restraints, the airtime, the intensity of the ride? Answers, please, because I've been wondering this for awhile! Edit: Oh, and also, might I remind you that Big Thunder has NO seatbelts, just a lap bar that gives you a ton of room! Same goes for Expedition Everest (ONLY A 44" height limit!)

That's what I'm saying. What's the point in theming a ride if you can't keep up with it? I'd assume you scrap the theme and make a better ride if you're not going to have said theme in a couple years. Invest that theme money into a better ride or multiple rides.

The funny thing is though, both the themes of Top Gun and Days of Thunder fell apart and were basically removed by paramount in the later years! They would theme a ride, make it all elaborate and cool looking, then after a season or two, they started removing theme elements or shutting off effects. Also, when you talk about rides going "exactly where they are supposed to go in the park" based off of theme. Paramount destroyed the atmosphere of Coney Mall when they removed the Antique Cars and put in Italian Job (which doesn't fit coney mall at all). They also put Flight of Fear in Coney Mall, which doesn't fit either. I'm okay with that one though, because it is sort of separated from the rest of Coney, and I love Flight of Fear haha. They also took out a log flume in RIVER town and added an ancient temple...in what was supposed to be based off the early days of Cincinnati (Losantiville ) So, I would hardly say Paramount did the best job theming their rides around the park's area's. If anything, I wish Kings Island had it's original owners. You know, the ones that made it look like a Disney park, didn't take the cheap way out, and themed everything to fit in to the correct areas. Also, it seems as though Cedar Fair has at least tried to make the rides they built, fit in with the theme of each area of the park. When they added Firehawk, they called that little area X-Base. when they added Diamondback they made sure it at least fit in with a frontier town type of theme.

A good ride can stand on its own and doesn't need a "story". Diamondback doesn't need a story. It could be called "Roller Coaster" and be just as good.

They throw them away because no one is near them and they are trash at that point. And because there's money to be made when replacements are made.

Parts can be made. Thus the continuance of the Canada and Virginia near clones and other, different style TOGO rides. Whips operate to this day, and Mangels has been out of business for years.

I make no apologies for having a very strong opinion on these matters: any bad behavior, any bad language, any violations (smoking in the wrong places, not adhering to the dress code, line jumping) - all are causes for dismissal from the park. I pay a lot of money for what is to supposed to be a fun day and I don't need any of that stuff happening to ruin it. Make rules and stick to them. Follow directions and you'll never go wrong.

What exactly do you feel you'll accomplish by telling how Ed's tricks are done? You're clearly obsessed with this show(supported by the brags of how many times you state you've seen it) why ruin it for others who haven't seen it? Do you hold a grudge of some form for not getting to sit at the "cool" lunch table? I promise, it wasn't that big of a deal. Lay back, enjoy the show. If you're trying to make new friends, you're going about it the wrong way. I do hope a site administrator will monitor SC posts, and please consider anything he/she writes that reveals any secrets of a very hard working man and his livelihood as pre-FLAGGED and reported by me.

Here's what I would do, change everything back to Paramount's & keep Diamondback. Happy me.

If I could change one thing, I would make Diamondback less boring and unimaginative... (Flame away everyone) Sorry if I insulted your favorite ride, but I just don't think B&M Hypers or Gigas have anything unique to offer.

Like I said in my last post, this is not at KI, but at Carowinds. But I think it's relevant enough to belong here, and I think the picture is far too priceless not to upload. And if you don't get what's so special about it, think really hard about it, and you may find yourself in the Fast Lane for spotting the irony.
