  1. I would go with some sort of extension of Oktoberfest, with a assortment of rides. Rides: Black Forest's Phantom: a wooden rollercoaster that goes into the heart of the forest, with pines and caves to go near and at times through. Der Kegs: a flat ride, with "kegs" spinning by hand pushing Alpine Blitzkrieg: a alpine slide, on a "mountain" filled with snowy caves, and lush rivers flowing down the alps. Restaurants: Hofbrauhaus: German cuisine, festive music, & bier garten seating available. Red Riding hoods goodies: a pretzel shop Stores: Berlin's market: German themed goods, clothing, gifts, and toys!

  3. I'll tell you this much: in a park of 200+ foot B&M coasters, it's Verbolten whose riders always return to the station applauding. Why? The eighty foot drop? The 50 mile per hour launch? If that were the case, when why aren't Flight Deck riders or Backlot Stunt Coaster riders applauding madly? It's the story. The buildup. The anticipation. The detail. The immersion. Take the Mountain out of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and you've got... Well... the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. One is iconic, and the other is not. Theme doesn't have to be a pre-show, special effects, and a post-show. It's just that extra oomph that shows that they care. As I mentioned in my PTR of Busch Gardens, the theme can be a little background on mythology or a terrain ride with a few grand props and an effort to landscape.

  5. If you could care less, then you do care some. If you couldn't care less, then you don't care at all. Many people are careless about this usage. I could go further, but I don't care to--which could mean I happily will OR I don't wanna, depending on where I am from.

  7. Which does NOT mean he was not disabled. My mother died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She could walk...about 15 feet. After which she was completely exhausted and out of breath. Assuming someone is as able as most of the rest of us based on appearances is at best ignorant (which means not knowing) and at worst a sign of arrogance. Not all disabilities can be seen. Perhaps the man in question WAS a faker, but there is a very good chance he was not.

  8. ich sperchen German. ( toke German 1 into German 2 next year) i would love to see some German theming!have that area of the park ran by somebody who lived in Germany for most of thier life and when Germany is having a festival (which is like all the time) we could have a festival at the same time with a simular setup. Karnevail is a very big festival in Germany and have seen YouTube video's and seems like a lot of fun one of the songs they sing is fliegerlied. Germans know how to have fun and know what a good time is!

  13. Soak City At Cedar Point, and Cedar Point are two different parks, there for you can use your PP to gain entry into the waterpark, and your pass to gain entry into Cedar Point. However if your planning on leaving one or the other to enjoy the other park you have to get your hand stamped to reenter. Soak City stamps one hand, and Cedar Point does the other.

  15. We were actually at the park today and I thought about this post. The person I was with wanted to just leave the bags out and not spend the $12 on a locker but when I told them your story, they were happy to spend the money and lock everything up. It can be a hastle but it's well worth it in the long run.

  16. (From the Interpreter's most recently posted article) Hart would accept Workman's call, but refuses to be the one to initiate. Workman would accept a call from Hart, but refuses to be the one to initiate. We're watching preschoolers pout here.

  17. If CCI had built Son of Beast, I'd wager it would have started with Gerstlauer trains, much like most (or all?) of the CCI creations from 2000. (I don't know why this was, and I'm very curious to know why. 2000 saw CCI almost strictly using Gerstlauer trains and much longer track transitions.) I'd say it would have much more resembled rides like Geauga Lake's Villain and Wild Adventures' Cheetah and would probably have become just as notorious for its roughness, as I've never heard anyone ever accuse those rides of tracking well. The only ride that comes to mind from this time that doesn't seem to fit this niche is The Legend at Holiday World, and I'm willing to chalk that up to the fact that it's at Holiday World and isn't running G-trains anymore. The only rides I've ridden from CCI's late era are Cornball Express and Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. I wasn't wowed by CE and LoCoSuMo isn't exactly a standard example of a CCI ride, but I'm willing to bet I'd still probably have liked a CCI SoB more than the current ride. I've thought most of the other CCIs were at least decent (or, at the very least, they all had at least one endearing quirk--I'm looking at you, Shivering Timbers), so I might have liked some aspect of CCI's version a little more. I wonder if they ever drew up a sample layout.

  21. I'd love to see Boo Blasters replaced with an old-school Pretzel or Bill Tracy dark ride. Only problem is that it would be impossible.
