Delirium as I've seen posted before, could easily be Pit and Pendulum. Flight deck, as we've all seen, The Bat ( reborn, rises,etc...) Invertigo, Hangman? The Noose? Open to suggestion. Drop Tower, I see little hope here, without a large investment to theme it. In my opinion, you'd have to enclose the entire queue. Concept: Entrance is a castle like spire The inside of the queue, with animatronics of a mad scientist every few switchbacks, encouraging you that you must climb the tower to enact the lightning rod. Enter the ride, which now enclosed at the base, appears as the lab. ( I know, it will have to be vented for the massive amount of air that the drop moves. Also that air could be used as storm gusts in queue. ) The ride lifts, when you reach the top, a bright light flashes, and down you go. As if you got struck by the lightning. Quite obviously it would be a better ride at night, but all I could think of.

...which building is this? It's the building that houses the Attitudes gift shop and the Delta Delta Die haunted house. Here's an extremely rare picture of Cuddle Up, screenshotted from an eBay auction some time back: The picture is supposedly from Kings Island, although I cannot figure out for the life of me what the big building in the background would be. Edit - Actually, the big blue building is the old inflatable Kings Island Theater. So the shot definitely is Kings Island.

How old a person is, does not define "maturity". I know of many young teens that are more mature than people my own age (myself not included jokesters! ). Just this past Saturday night. we went to a local haunted house. 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed it. My youngest (age 11) did not. While I felt bad, I simply "hugged" her through the rest of the HH & reminding her it was a "play". Am I a bad parent? No. She said she could handle it before going. I now know better for this year- she is still to young. Do I blame the actors? Absolutely not. They are doing their job. It's what we signed up for. Park goers should also be aware that HH at night is a different park than a Saturday night in July. Expecting the same atmosphere is just naive.

Is it even Action Zone anymore? I thought that the Action Zone was a Paramount trademark. They removed the sign before the park went up for sale...right now it's more like "that area" of the park. I think we may be surprised next year....or not... How about Fear Zone theming. Fear of Heights, Fear of water, Fear of Swinging, Fear of Ghosts, Fear of falling backwards.... (Fear of concerts, Fear of empty restaurants, Fear of retail shopping, Fear of toilets and Fear of blue ice cream....LOL)

It's resting on the rollbacks, the chain dog is still engaged as well. But the stress of restarting the motor in immediate stress is the issue. It's like having your bike on a hill in the highest gear up a hill

That's kind of how it was in the first year of FearFest, which was a separately ticketed attraction. People would have to go to one of several booths or people with aprons around the park to get a wristband. Let me tell you, that was a huge pain to adminster. I have never heard anyone call it that, except for a select few people on here. Of course, I may be hanging out with the wrong crowd. This time of year I hang out with a decidedly pro-Haunt group of people. But you and I have a long-time understanding that we agree to disagree on this whole subject. Ugh... I hate generalizations like this. There is so much more to being a good scareactor than "screaming or yelling 'Boo.'" Since I'm a butcher, I point to the kids and thank the parents for bringing in the "chicken nuggets." This always gets a laugh from them, and usually at least a smile from the kids too. KI-ORIG-EMP... you're old enough to know better. Friday the 13th... is Jason, Hockey Masks, and hatchets. And you're old enough to know better too. Jason's main weapon of choice was a machete, not hatchets!

Anything would be better than Invertigo, Drop Tower, and Flight Deck. Those are the most awful ride names that require no thought at all. They're sticker names that for some reason got tattooed.

There is actually room back there for a couple of flat rides....I like the Spooky Hollow idea.

I'm guessing they'll start work from that new support to the loop around the lift hill. Doubt they'll lift steel so close to AZ's midway until HH is over.

Since we skipped this year, our passes are no longer simply renewable, and we must get new ones. That's ok- I no longer have the cheesy-looking mustache associated with the old ID! "That woman I married," however... (ducking) But I did print out the receipts today!

When Paramount started this event which then it was called Fear Fest was a separate ticket event. It didn't attract as many guests as they liked so they made it open to season passes and general admission. There are some of us who don't even go for the Haunt in the first place. I go to get some night rides on my favorite coasters. It's the only time of year that you get many hours of night riding in. I would not want it to be a separate event again.

Like I've said before, if I want a more intense haunting experience I can just "pay as I go" elsewhere... Like Dent or USS Nightmare!

In answer to the original question; parking a train on the lift is easier and safer than going out and chalking and chaining a train on the safety brakes. The trains are not rotated either. Nor is there any more stress put on the lift motor when a train is parked there for the night. Also, being a minor has nothing to with not parking train on the storage rails. It's simply not needed and unnecessary. At least on the Arrow coasters.

Yeah minors shouldnt be in charge of people's lives and a multi million dollar attraction...just my opinion

I think it has to do with the fact that KI allows minors to operate rides. At Cedar Point you must be 18 to operate rides!

The fence will not be a problem. They seem to manage to thread track through those A frame supports without trouble. Plus the fence can probably be removed and replaced if need be.

Adventure Express used to park trains on the lift too back when they ran 3 train operation!

I renewed my Cedar Point Platinum Pass two days ago....I did it with the EasyPay plan. $20 per month til June...why not? I'm okay with the EasyPay plan. The only thing I wish I could do, is get an actual new pass, with the new look.

They have set up another of the short supports.

To be honest, is it not the bossest thing to be there with your parents? I loved going to the park with my parents. When haunted attractions used to be roadside, run by the Jaycees, I loved going there with my family. Events like that make you see what they were like when they were you age. On The Racer, my dad turned back into the kid that rode Cyclone and listened to Big Band at the Starlight Gardens.. The look on his face when confronted by the Creature of the Black Lagoon in some haunted house attraction was priceless. I wouldn't give up those memories for a million dollars. These parents poking and prodding and yelling at monsters have lost their spirit of fun- sticks in the mud that never donned a mask and spooked anyone. ` As for the rough patrons, I'd suspect that they've grown up in the era of "hell night", where one wreaks havoc on Halloween, or simply, to state my mind honestly, they are so close to animalistic, they wouldn't know how to to behave no matter the policing policy. I saw some idiot steal a phone a few years ago and try running out the gate. He stole the phone at the entrance to Coney Island, then ran. I'm sure he got far, about to the Eiffel Tower. I had a kid in my neighborhood ask me why I no longer hand out candy for Halloween. I do hand out candy, but I go to a neighborhood where the kids dress up, there's no mothers with six month old babies really begging for themselves, the kids say "Trick or Treat" and thank you. In my neighborhood, the parents dig into the bowl and grab up candy for themselves. I go to the well behaved families in my neighborhood the night before with a basket of candy, (All both of them), then do what trashy families have done for years on Halloween, I go to a nice neighborhood for Trick or Treat.

I once had someone tell me they dislike Gemini because they aren't fans of wooden coasters. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, I asked them how that was at all relevant to Gemini, and they looked thoroughly confused. I don't understand why people have such a hard time grasping that Gemini, Mine Ride, Adventure Express, and the Texas Giant aren't wooden... Its pretty easy to see why people have trouble grasping that Gemini, AE, etc.. are not wooden. Most people in the park don't give a flip who the manufacturer is. Most don't care about the specific dimensions, length, etc.. on a coaster. They only care about what they see and what they experience. The experience side speaks for itself, but the "what they see" side of things on the coaster you mentioned are not so clear cut. You look at Adventure Express or Gemini from a distance, and what do you see? A coaster sitting on a wood frame; lots and lots of wood. You don't examine the track itself, you don't really even care about the track itself, all you think as you walk up to the ride is the layout in front of you, supported by a multitude of wooden supports and its a clear cut wood coaster in their mind. The average park attendee simply does not care about the subtle differences b/w a ride like The Racer and Adventure Express even though they are neighbors. This applies to most everything in life. The more passionate you are about something, the more time you spend learning the small details about that passion. Someone who is passionate about baseball probably knows a good bit by now about on base percentage, slugging, whip, etc... A person who goes to 1 or 2 games a year and watches another couple dozen on TV (like my wife) only cares that hits are good, homers are better, what the hell is OPS?

Seems to me like way to much thought was put into this to just be a 10 minute Diversion for Banshee. the question is would Kings Island Sink this kinda Money into Rethemeing an old Arrow Suspended Coaster? Id like to think yes, but only time will tell.As excited as I am for Banshee, a Bat Retheme of Flight Deck is equally intriguing..

I had posted this in a previous topic but here it is again. Bat footer just prior to the steps in The Vortex (Bat) There are footers with cut metal scattered under The Vortex. que.

I've got one. To my knowledge, one of the Skyride footers still exists, near the edge of the Oktoberfest pond on the Bier Garten patio. It used to have a boat covering it, but that has since been removed and a tree has been planted inside the footer. Also, I believe the Snoopy Boutique used to be the Hanna-Barbera Land Skyride station.

actually that does make since because one of the supports on the dive loop is right on the midway pretty much and if the fence is in the way it would have to be removed and then that would just be an invitation for people to walk right into the construction site, which im guessing is a big no no without permission.

^ If your 2013 pass is gold or platinum, it already includes unlimited visits to KI's Haunt in 2013. If your 2013 pass is a regular season pass, it expired after Labor Day. If you purchase a new 2014 Kings Island gold or platinum pass, you will get one free visit to Kings Island this fall. You'll have to pay for parking during your one free visit, but parking will be included for all of 2014. (If you have a 2013 gold/platinum pass, you don't need the free visit since you already have unlimited admission and parking this year.)

I'm surprised Don hasn't come in and said anything yet, nor have they announced anything if this is indeed part of Project 2014...I just hope this means something good is happening to Flight Deck, not just taking more and more away from a great ride

The building that is used for Boo Blasters was originally The Enchanted Voyage. It was my favorite rides at Kings Island.

I'm just going off of images from bing maps so I could be wrong but cars from Son of Beast's original trains are behind Dinosaur Alive.

I'm not sure what it was, but on Firehawk, after we had flipped over for the first drop, I looked down, and directly below the first drop is a dumpster full of ride remnants. Including a grey coaster car with orange lap bars. (Not FOF). Did there used to be a coaster with that sort of color scheme for the cars? Also also The Racer used to have chain between the anti rollbacks on the 4th hill. It might be still sitting there.

If I'm not mistaken, a couple of moss-covered footers left over from The Bat can be seen from Vortex's lift if you look closely.

At Universals Halloween Horror Nights, they close the park and empty the park prior to the Horror Night to clear out the families, and it is a separately paid event (which by the way is outrageously priced now at about $100 per one night visit and for an additional fee you can Express, counts me out!) for each participant no matter what age and there are security personnel throughout each zone, house and just about everywhere, just to keep the peace. The fact that the houses and zones are way more intense than at our haunt and cost is high, pretty much weeds out the families with children. We actually saw security pop out of no where and chase down some teens who had fake Id's and were trying to buy beer...they were caught and detained on the spot.

I think at a minimum kids should be at least 16 to go to Haunt without a parent. Parents, on the other hand , who have their elementary aged kids with them should be shown the exit. You need a license for just about anything in life... but any idiot can be a parent.

I'm still trying to figure out why people don't like Lori. She did everything in her legal right to protect the future of her family. She was being low balled and taken advantage of but she was smart enough and strong enough to stand up for herself and her family and not let someone ILLEGALLY take what was hers. I hope if I passed on unexpectantly my wife would do the same thing for our family as Lori did for her family. She married Will. She along with Pat are probably the two people who knew Will's vision for the park the best. She hired Matt who worked side by side with Will for multiple years to run the park for now. Why would either Matt disgrace his partner's vision or Lori disgrace her husband's vision by not holding the park to the same standards Will did years ago? The park will be fine. In fact I believe that the park is in better position now than it was with Dan at the helm. To be honest all of this drama started when Dan came back into the picture of HW. It was all fine while he was in Florida tending to his legal firm and had nothing to do with the park other than being a shareholder. When he came back and tried to strong arm his way to the top is when the proverbial "stuff" hit the fan.
