It would be really nice if they planted some trees around the drops of DB. It would be really nice diving down into a forest, rather then diving down into barren space.
Diamondback came during the early years of CF ownership, where they put a lot of coasters in all their new parks rather quickly, and it surely shows. The only thing I'd be really interested in seeing is having B&M come back to re-track the valley before the trim, that roughness makes it hard to re-ride.
Unfortunately it was built in the early days of Cedar Fair ownership where they were using the Cedar Point philosophy that just adding a huge ride was all that was important. Theming and atmosphere got little attention back then. Thank goodness Ouimet got involved with his Disney experience. That’s when the parks started getting theming details again.
So agree (grumbles included) that Diamondback was a good addition in a bad location. It’s almost like paramount planned it. The queue is terrible with those modern sun shades, the infrastructure looks bad right behind showplace, the helix into the splash ruined what wasnt already bad about The Beast Entrance.
I wound be happy if the just planted some trees around the plaza station area and pre lift turn around of Beast. It all used to be back in the woods. Like the rest of the park, it’s pretty barren these days.
The indoor portion of the Crypt is a wasted opportunity - its actually a well- done (or it was - not sure what is left of it) queue from its tomb raider days. The way the buildings are constructed (4 seemingly separate structures) should be easy to demo the largest and maybe even the pre-show building) and keep the tunnel and the first room as switchbacks.
Crypt building is such an eye-sore nowadays. I did not once see that soccer game active at all the past two seasons. I really hope they revisit that plaza, I love all these ideas for it that I'm reading through.
Didn’t mean crypt building for beast queue but for the Screamin’ Swing queue The Beast indoor queue part I meant to utilize the former snack stand building that the line goes around.
Ya know, the similar theming wouldn't be the only thing in common with CP's petting farm if that (see bold) happened as Slaughter House would be right around the corner. When I went in 2019, I thought it was brilliant to have their Slaughter House line start near the Barnyard as it really plays into the theme.
