Yea but unfortunately there is a huge grey area between loose articles and secured articles that rarely gets addressed. Like for instance a basketball being held on The Beast by a guest being considered secured and the train sent. Then the basketball being thrown during the ride becomeing a loose article. (I think several people know what I'm talking about) This also holds true with things like backpacks and purses being that technically the park is not supposed to hold purses makes things even more difficult. Makes your head hurt so bad after a while that it makes you want to rent a locker and ride in your underwear, .

No. Also the ride in Japan did not have someone fall out due to not wearing their restraint, it was more like this: Uh, actually someone DID die like that on a ride like King Cobra, to wit: Shockwave at Kings Dominion. See my post earlier in this thread: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=195016 You're right, I knew someone had died on shockwave. When I posted this I meant it to be a reply to the part about a ride in Japan by togo that had an accident in an earlier post. I think I quoted the wrong person. Sometimes you post before you think or realize what you've said. (definately happens with some more than others aswell)

One thing I dont like is that Cedar Fair usually does a good job of not duplicating ride names in their parks. Thats usualy more of a six flags thing. With these new names, they didnt even try to keep the parks original.

I have too much allegiance to Top Gun, Italian Job, and Tomb Raider to enjoy these changes.

VisitKingsIsland.com Downtime Explained
DeLorean Rider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I'm sure they'll definately keep those for old times sake. -
Since we've kind of branched into pictures of anything... My girlfriend took this amazing shot^ Took many rides to finally get one but we finally did. This isn't actually my car. This car is a later model lacking some of the unique aspects that the earlier models posess; still neat pics though.

No they chop it up, melt it down, and cast it as B&M and Intamin coasters. eeh, it happens to all of us, some more often than others

Start Crying Let me clarify. It was apparent that they used a cutting tourch where they could not unbolt it. The ride was not cut everywhere, only where it was a difficult place to deconstuct. Having never seen nor ridden The Bat I cannot say wether it deserves a mourning. Where does it say that was The Bat? http://rcdb.com/ig627.htm?picture=12

Actually it WAS that violent, to the tune of a cutting torch. While on clean up I visited the track many times and many places had very apparent cutting torch marks. The track was in pretty rough condition, lots of rust and holes. I've got pictues somewhere around here that I took on my phone, I'll see if I can dig some up.

I do not. I am unsure whether it was an authoized visit to the factory or not.

First, it did not happen. But, second, coasters that have had deaths usually do continue to operate. See, for instance, Raven at Holiday World, Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great Adventure, Timber Wolf at Worlds of Fun, etc. I had never heard that someone died on Raven... when did that happen (not doubting you, of course, but just curious)? Yes someone did die on raven in 2003 The lady unbuckled her seatbelt and had her lapbar up and was flung out during the event Stark Raven Mad. I was there that night at the event. Everyone was supposed to be in the picnic grove eating, but they decided to get their own food and catch some rides on raven. She was in the back seat with her fiance that had proposed that night. Mrs. Koch came to the picnic grove and told us what had happened and that the event was over. It was around 8:30and The park closed at 9. We were waiting in the picnic grove untill the guests were out, then we were supposed to have ERT till midnight. Obviously that didnt happen. The lady unbuckeled the seatbelt, only had one click on he restraint, and was standing up on the ride. Anyone who's been on raven knows about that midcourse drop.

Hey man, dont joke about that, that really did happen, photo proof right here:

Like Gordon Bombay said, the King Cobra track is not there any more. As I and many others have seen first hand, the track was not salvagable, especially due to some of the ways that they disassambled the ride. For more info on the Peters Cartridge Factory these are a couple of good links: HERE For more photos:Photos Here are 6 videos of kids playing paintball in the factory:youtube I usually defend wikipedia but in this case, the article has a lot of stuff that is incorrect, not to mention 0 citations. western star july 15, 1890 More Photos

I think you should have included more choices, that list is way to narrow. Phantom theater, The Bat, screamin' demon, KCKC, skylab, flight commander, ferris wheel, skyride, etc. are all worthy of the list. At least Phantom Theater and KCKC.

SFKK: Girl Injured in Accident
DeLorean Rider replied to joecoaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Hitting the e-stop after the cable breaks is not going to keep it from chopping the girls feet off. -
Kings Islands surfing is a joke compared to real surfing though. Please, by no means am I a surfer but at Kings Island, there is a rushing layer of water under you rolling over a contoured pool. You just sit there as the water rushes under you. Yea it's a good effect and pretty fun if you can stay up, but its hardly the same as surfing or even bodyboarding at a beach. This new machine makes it look as though it actually creates the waves and the surfer will be able to paddle to it and actually ride the wave. Just from my visits to Folly Beach in Charleston SC and talking to people in town, the hardest thing about surfing is the patience; waiting for the perfect wave, in size, angle to the beach, and judgeing when it breaks. If you had a machine that could make the perfect waves with enough room to ride them out on, you'd have all the fun of real surfing without the wait, or salt water in your eyes. Thats what I think this machine is all about.

Some how I dont think that FOF would follow the plot of BTTF very well nor fit in with x-base very well; but thats just me...
-
I feel that with the addition of Firehawk and the new emphasis on the "X-base", it would definately be worth a refurbishment of the themeing and ride experience. I'm not talking about a complete retheme here, but an improvement, update, and touch-up of the current themeing, would definately be worth consideration; especially if the park intends on future expansion of that area.

I would recomend they scrape all the gum in the station, ufo, and hanger. That and windex the mirrors in the hanger... it looses the effect of depth when there are streaks and dirt on the mirrors. Other than that I'm fine with meeting Mr. Christopher of the White House press agency.

I'll see what I can do, its really big, obviously like the size of a newspaper so scanning has to be done in sections as shown by the seam going through the front of the cover.

Thats what a lot of my associates made last year. I made 7 an hour in 03 and 04, then in 05 recieved an extra 25cents for site controller training at skyflyer. After I got promoted then I started making the big bucks ...

Personally I dont feel that this was an off topic post. The thead is about who will be working at Kings Island next year. Many have said they will not be working there next year, some who worked there last year, some many years ago, and some who have never worked there. Does this mean that only people who worked at KI in 2007 have a right to post in this thread? He mearly said that he will not work there next year but may in the future. However concise, it was still in line with the thread. Also looking back through his previous posts, its a very difficult argument to make that he brings "nothing" to the table. Lets all just be friends.
