Huh, well would you look at that. Well I guess I did say that. But since I work for B&M and all, and Oblivion being the first coaster to define a dive machine, we've decided that we're going to continue labeling it as a dive machine. It looks vertical and to us, thats good enough. Plus we have a patent on the name dive machine so we can use it whenever we want. Infact we like the name so much that we're going to rename ALL of our coasters to dive machines, just because we're B&M and what we call them is what they are! And we say that Oblivion IS a Dive Machine! See just look at our website: http://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/products/diving_en.aspx DeLorean Rider wondering what came over him...

How exactly did you come up with that conclusion? Dont get me wrong, I've been a Skycoaster Site Controller the past 3 years, I know how the ride runs, thats not to say that there are not safer rides in the park, like say, the Carousel.

So this is a forum full of idiots... Now how did you come up with that? According to you, everyone who talks here doesnt know what theire talking about.

I always believed there was hope for a prefabricated track conversion. But thats a lot of work and $.

I worked Vortex several times in post season last year, even the weekend before closing and it was 3 train op. the whole time.

Thes is kind of a stupid question but what is a dive coaster??????????????????????????????????????????????? There is no need for that many question marks, even just one, yes one, would have shown that you were asking a question. A dive coaster is a B&M coaster that is either 8 or 10 accross that goes vertical. They are very larg coasters. Most notable coasters are Sheikra at Busch Gardens Africa, Griffon at Busch Gardens Europe and Oblivion at Alton Towers. Example: But Oblivion doesn't go vertical I never said it did, I just said it was a dive coaster.

Unfortunately this picture does not represent the current state of the King Cobra. That track has since been removed. It is assumed scrapped. I know I miss the ride aswell. DeLorean Rider accelerating up to 88mph...

Personally I find this interesting. http://www.sanduskyregister.com/articles/2...ront/270613.txt Just to recap:

If you look in the top left corner of the concrete rectangle, you can see the white booth where the fireworks were controlled from.

Actually, the ride operators DO usually know more about general every day operation than the maintainence crews. Often times maintainence will ask how we do many different things. Maintainence knows how the rides do what they do, but that doesnt mean they know the ride operations procedures during operating hours. We have training and standard procedures for things like that. Maintainence personal is not permitted to run the ride with guests on them because they are not trained by the rides department to do so, because there are many things they would overlook. For example, buckeling the seatbelts on empty TR or seats, not to mention maintainence never runs the ride in automatic mode they always use, you guest it, maintainence mode or manual mode.

I've heard about some of your antics, Mr. Nick. Don't think the above comment was directed towards you. No comment...

Believe me, I could tell you more than you could imagine about Tomb Raider the Ride. I've gone alot more indepth with Tomb Raider than most employees do; more than that I cannot say. There's a lot more to Tomb Raider than meets the eye. Not all employees just want to check bars all day, there are those who have a significant interest in the rides, especially their own, and will do whatever they can to learn as much as possible.
-
What was I thinking? Where did I get off thinking I knew anything about my ride for 2 years. I'm sure those who ride TRTR once in a blue moon know way more about Tomb Raider than I'll ever know.

$75,000 missing from Kings Island, supervisor indicted
DeLorean Rider replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island
When I worked in food (mind you 2002, may be different now). Never checked a thing. Every now and then a sup would ask you to put your wallet or purse in a locker, but there was never any followup, especially at the end of the shift. -
And I can assure you that the head sup at express busts his ass to get that ride cranking riders.

Sadly I've got to agree. I'm not saying that there is no security on the cash handeling employees, but there are certain positions that if you wanted it badly enough, you could probably get it pretty easily. Just cant get to greedy. -
Jungle Jim's Johns Win an Award
DeLorean Rider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Is there one in particular they're speaking of or all of them as a whole? My favorite is the one that looks like you're going into a portapotty but turns out to be a full size restroom. -
Yea, he hasnt worked on Drop Zone since 2004, lol. Mech 2s havin a rough time right now, TR and DZ. I'm sure they could use some help from Mech 1 and the Auto Shop... Just kidding

The impluse coaster shown is of Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great America. I agree with The Interpreter about the straight rear tower being better than the twisted ones, both for the lack of the nausiating spin, and for the stop at the top. I remember being at Six Flags Marine World or Discovery Kingdom when their V2 was being "redesigned". How did they think they could get away with building a 186ft coaster in a 150ft zoned area .

Come on now, security may not be perfect, but if such an event DID happen, security and park police would be on them faster than flys on ****. -
Well there's at least one...
