I'd like to say that the park is clean, the bathrooms however have a bit to be desired. It is in particular the rivertown restroom closest to Nick Central. I go in there everyday and there is toliet paper everywhere and it is just gross looking. Although, I do have to say that there was one day, second day we were opened that a girl was in that bathroom scrubbing the sinks and it was obvious that she had just swept and everything. She was awsome and I'm sorry I didn't get her name.

I know that Matt did Zoom, Swing Set and some of the Reptar's.

Reptar, Racer, Adventure Express, Ghoster Coaster and Beastie (by yourself): 44" Beast, and I think Top Gun and Vortex: 48" All the rest: 54"

I'll be working from open 'til close on Friday. I'll probably be spending the day at Reptar drive, so if you see the happy little brunette sitting in the drive box. Say hey.

If you want to actually get to ride any rides, I would go during the Fearfest. Night of Fire, the park is crazy and overly packed (it being fourth of july and all) whereas Fearfest lasts longer and thus there are actually days when there are few people in the park.

Wood: Beast with a close second on recaR. Steel: Either Top Gun or Reptar, I'm not a huge fan of steel coasters, for some reason.

Reptar. The green and purple rock! Although, I'm not so sure I like it nearly as much now that they've removed to green seat backs. Although this is should cause me to have to say things like keep your feet off the seat back in front of you, as often.

Um...Vortex isn't the only steel coaster. Topgun is made of steel, as well the Runaway Reptar, and Face-Off.

april 3. Park is opened from 12-8. Most associates have been asked to be there around 11 or 11:15.

I love PKI because they pay my bills.

Although, updated, still contains attractions that do not exist.

I may be stupid...but are talking about REAL palm trees? Because if we are, I'm pretty sure they won't survive the winter, unless King's Island digs them up at the end of each season and grows them in a green house over the winter, and then replants them each summer. And I'm quite sure this isn't going to happen.

I had the privledge of training Jeff Siebert at both the HB Carousel and the Atom Ant's Airways, last season. I have never seen someone so excited about running the Atom Ant's before. And he is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met.

King's Island doesn't own the inn.

However, we do try and guarentee everything, except deep south (biplanes, the kiddie train, and the handcars) being opened by 4 o'clock. And almost everyday last year we succeded. So, if you do choose to come these days, start out in the big park and move over towards HB. But even if you come early to HB the majority of the rides are generally opened. This includes, but is not limited to, SDATHC, Reptar, Beastie, the kiddie carousel, top cat's taxi jam, the swing set, the bumper cars, and the jetson's jet oribitors. As the day progresses the other rides open, and almost all of them are generally opened by 1.

No longer true for HB rides.

Hey boys and girls and welcome to Top Cat's Taxi Jam. Now remember when riding a coaster you have to keep your hands arms and legs inside the car at all times. Hang on tight, cause here we go. Please no smoking. Paramount's King's Island would like to remind you that smoking is not permitted in any line. Thank you for not smoking. Ladies and Gentlemen: The Reptar is currently closed, we are not sure how long this delay will take to resolve. You are more than welcome to stay in line, but if you do wish to exit, we ask that you do so, the same way that you came in. We are sorry for any inconvience this may cause. Thank you and have a great day, here at Paramount's King's Island. Ladies and Gentlemen: This is just a reminder that in order to ride the Reptar Rollercoaster you must be at least 44'' tall and no taller than 6'4". Once again, in order to ride the Reptar Rollecoaster you must be at least 44" tall and no taller than 6'4''. If you fail to meet these height requirements, you will not be permitted to ride, and no exceptions will be made. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day here at paramount's king's island. and my all time favorite, reptar speil: For your safety and the safety of those around we would ask that you please do not, sit, stand, shake, push, walk, or climb on any of the gates or handrailings. Once again, please do not sit, stand, shake, push, walk or climb on any of the gates or handrailings. If you are currently sitting, standing, pushing, walking or climbing on any of the gates or handrailings, we would ask that you please stop now. Thank you and enjoy the reste of your day here at Paramount's King's Island. And one more: (Boulder's) For your safety and the safety of those around we would ask that all guests standing behind the yellow gates, please keep their hands, arms and legs, behind the yellow gates. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day here at Paramount's King's Island.

I agree. And you know that people have done it, based on found items in the quehouse, etc. But really, until the novelty of shooting things with guns, the boys won't be wanting to be bothered. Video games or sex? Must be a males biggest dilema.

I haven't kept track of what I've ridden, but I would have to say the sad thing is, that I've probably ridden the rides in HB more than any of the rest of them. But, I can almost guarentee that anyone else that works in HB can say the same. Especially, if you work in east pie, because all of your rides, but one have to be test ridden everyday. I personally have spent more time on the HB Carousel in the past year, than I have in like the past 12 years combined. I do know one statistic for sure, however. I rode TRTR, twice. And unless dragged on it again, that will probably be it. Although, the second time, didn't freak me out nearly as much as the first.

They are generally pretty flexable with your college schedule and your work schedule. In HB, at least I know of several people who only work every other weekend, during pre and post season, and the managers are pretty flexible on the hours that they work, as well. (Like they may work an all day on Saturday and open on Sunday, or something like that.) Also, there are people who only work every other weekend and then only like a Saturday open. These were high school students, who attended Mason HS. I'm sure that the managers will give you what you need, as long as you show up for the shifts that you say you will.

I have had a couple of dreams about King's Island. One was when I was working in merchandise. I had that dream after a particuarly horrifying experience at the stroller rental. In my dream I was outside working stroller rental, and suddenly all the strollers started to attack me. They all chased me around the cash register, it was so weird. The other had something to do with my family and myself taking up an entire train at face/off, and when we got to the top of the second side, suddenly the train flew off and we all landed on this target, that was a giant air matress. It was crazy.

Roughest riding coaster at PKI?
Reptarrunner replied to ckimbro's little bodyguard's topic in Kings Island
I have to say it's a toss between Vortex and SOB. Vortex, everytime I get off of it I have a head ache, because my head has hit the shoulder harnesses so many and time. SOB, it's just painful to ride. Last time I was on it, I broke my nametag (which was inside my purse), because my purse was on my lap and my lap hit the restrant so many times. -
I'm taking the chance as to sound like a complete moron here, but I've been wondering something, and maybe you all can help me. Why is that rides that are made by the same company, with the same basic design, aren't run in the same way? ie. I'm privledge to run two Miler children's coasters, the Boa Squeeze at Wonderpark Cincinnati, and Top Cat's Taxi Jam (aka the Zoom) at King's Island. These two coasters have pretty much the same design, one lift hill, some track, and a set of breaks, yet they are run completely different. The Boa Squeeze is dispatched using two buttons and will park itself, after it has completed it's three cycles (most of the time, sometimes you have to stop the lift, but none the less it will enter the breaks on it's own). The Zoom, however is much more complicated to run. You must dispatch it, then open the breaks, hold them open, let the train make it back onto the lift, and the open the breaks and try with all your might to close them at the correct time (if closed too early, the train possibly will get stuck and will have to be physically pushed in by an associate, if closed too late you have to send the train around for a third time because part of the train will be on the lift and if you try to dispatch it from this position, the lift chain will jump and it makes an awful noise.) If anyone knows the answer to this I would be quite grateful, just because it would satsify my curiousity. Thanks.

The Smurf's Enchanted Voyage Pics?
Reptarrunner replied to RevengeofTheSmurfs's topic in Kings Island
Ah, the Smurf ride, how I miss it. I was scared to death of the gargomel scenes though. But, what do you expect from a small child, there was some pretty scary music there. As for outdoor themeing, I vaguely remember having to walk under a rainbow with some smurfs around it, that had the name of the ride on the rainbow. I could be crazy, probably am, but that is just my recollection. And although, I greatly enjoy the new darkride, I wish King's Island would bring something like the Smurf ride back. It was just relaxing, and nice. Disney has it's a small world, why can't we have a fun little ride like that? -
From what I heard, there was no tornado that night, just some severly high winds. And from my understanding, since the park was open the night that it happened, that for the most part, everyone had just left the park (guests and employees) which was incredibly lucky, cause a lot of people have to drive past that area, or catch the bus from that bus stop that was directly underneath the sign. So, we were lucky that it didn't happen in the middle of day, but instead in the middle of the night. As for a new sign, I feel that we do need it. That sign was a valuable piece of my everyday routine. Thanks to the sign, I always knew just how late I was running (although for the record, I was never actually late for work), which groups were going to be in the park (this information I would use to gauge just how busy HB would be that day...ie, if it's junior cheerleaders day, you should bet your life, that it will indeed be quite busy), and it helped the guests know when the park was closed to the general public. In general that sign was quite valuable to the park, as both an advertising tool and a general knowledge tool. Without it the park just isn't the same.
