There also at least used to be lockers near Oktoberfest, near the entrance to Viking Fury. I believe that the lockers at the front of the park and in Oktoberfest are daily rental lockers (ie, you can get into them multiple times throughout the day). However, I believe that the lockers by Firehawk might be one time use lockers. The best course of action to get the official policy on loose articles, as suggested above, contact the park. However, the park`s website also has this document: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/att...safetyguide.pdf. While that document is for the 2008 season, some of the same policies may be the same this year. One thing to note is if you wear glasses (like me), is that according to the document I cited above:

It was not a "Bring a Friend Free Day." Rather, if I recall it was a bring a friend for $10 or $20, limit one per pass holder. This year, the bring a friend discount days (May 10th and June 21st, which are Mother`s and Father`s day respectively) allow gold pass holders to bring a guest to the park for $9.99, according to the park`s website here: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/events.cfm?ec_id=27

It is indeed amazing that the auction has raised $95,000 for A Kid Again. A truly remarkable sum of money, and there are still a few days left to get a bid in if you want to. It would be nice to see the total amount push into six digits. I`m sure that the auction has raised more money than they initially thought they would raise! Its especially remarkable all the companies that have placed corporate bids on the auction!

Yes, it can still change dramatically. However, at least so far the forecast is heading for the better and not for the worse!

If I recall correctly, they planned to have this event last year but it was canceled. Glad to see that they are having it this year. Hopefully it will be a huge success. If you are interested, you might want to register early, as space is limited (according to the website).

Well, I went to the park that day with the sole intention of riding Firehawk. The second ride was a result of meeting up with some other people later in the afternoon that wanted to ride it, I went for a second ride. The line was partially long that day because only the red train was running. Diamondback will have a lot higher capacity than what Firehawk has, so hopefully the lines won`t be too horrendous. Although the forecast for Saturday keeps getting a little warmer with a slight (30%) chance of rain and a high near 70. Can`t really go wrong with that forecast. It beats rain or a high of 50 any day!

Besides it will be a nice chance for me to have a momentary break from thesis design work (even though I have a design pin up next Wednesday). Back when Firehawk opened, not only did I wait in line nearly four hours to ride it the first time (the ride didn`t open until one, so three hours of that was standing in a line waiting for the ride to open) but I had already ridden the ride when it was at Geauga Lake. Additionally, later in the evening, I waited another hour to ride it a second time on opening day.

Yes, in the past they have only had a very small portion of International Street Open before 10am. Last year, as tigellinius said, I-Street was only open up to just shy of the entrance to Octoberfest and Nick Universe. -

You are not kidding about the bad Photoshop for Rage on Canada`s Wonderland site! They didn`t even try to remove the Eiffel Tower portion that was within the frame of the actual ride. On the subject of the gold and platinum pass holder early ride times. Typically, they have the moveable metal barricades on one of the midways where they normally have ropes. In addition to the security guard, there will be an employee checking season passes and allowing those with platinum and gold passes to enter. Typically, the metal barricade is covered with a sign with the Gold Pass logo. The closer the park gets to opening, the harder it is to move past the non-gold pass holders to get up to where the gate and security guard are at. -

the shade structures can be effective in keeping most of the queue shaded because of the angle that they are positioned at. Together with the sun angle, they can cast shadows on a majority of the queue, and hence shade most of it. That being said, areas that are under shade are not necessarily directly under the shading devices. Therefore, while one spot may be shaded, it is not protected from rain. Additionally, the material that the shade structures are made out of are not entirely water proof. They are somewhat translucent and can allow water to get through if it rains hard enough. I could go into a lot more detail on sun angles and shading devices and how they are used in buildings to reduce the passive solar heat gain, but I think that would be way too much information! -
A watch and quarters? I do not get how that is funny or a joke. Actually having worked the Rock O Planes at Coney, if people start flipping their cars upside down, it is not uncommon for loose change that is in their pockets to begin raining down on the metal grating that serves as the platform. Luckily the controls are a good distance away from the ride, but sometimes when we are loading some cars are still rocking, and sometimes change can come out of the cars.

Well then, I challenge you to find a post of Interpreter`s where his post adds no content or additional information to the topic at hand. You likely won`t find any.

This particular article was on their website. My local community paper has typos almost weekly, and has even misspelled headlines before! -

Well, the commercials that KI has been airing on both the radio and television the past few days have been making a big deal about the park opening April 18th, and being closed Sunday April 19th. And yes, the local media can be quite horrendous at times. Yesterday, WCPO (Channel 9) had an article up where they said "considered" instead of what they intended to say which was "concerned." -

I`m not certain, but I believe that may in fact be the first Math and Science Day. Which means there could be lots and lots of school kids there! -
It is all about advertising and marketing. Those cars likely will not be in the park but if I had to guess would be featured at area Ford Dealerships. The whole point of marketing and advertising is to stir up interest in the product to hopefully bring in additional revenue. Just ask Hard Rock Park about how not marketing their park turned out for them! You have to get the word out that you have a new product. On that subject, Kings Island commercials have hit the airwaves on both radio and television in the Cincinnati area the past several days.

I really like the new banners on the light poles! That was one of the things I commented on when I went to Carowinds a couple of weeks ago. The banners really added a festive atmosphere to the park. I`m glad Kings Island is incorporating some of these.

I beat you by a few seconds with the link. From now on, when you post an article like that, it is helpful to post the link. I`m not sure what the resolution is on your monitor, but I certainly couldn`t read the article until I found it on their website! -

Yes. It was for a while set to five minutes, but has since been adjusted by Dane to just be a minute.

Again, an update from Coney can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.ph...id=121898760525 And flightoffear1996, the Zoom Flume was still popular with guests. In fact, many pass holders were sad to see it go. Coney has a season pass only day at Sunlite Pool after Labor Day to give pass holders one last chance to ride it. "Or maybe they didnt have enought money to replace it?" Right, so that is why they are investing $1.8 million in the new Twister slide this year? There is an old saying, if it isn`t broken, don`t fix it.

It could very well be. Dane is the one that installed the patch. He might know more specifics.
