CoastersRZ replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Which is why tonight`s Platinum Pass holder ERT has been rescheduled from Millennium Force to Top Thrill Dragster AND Magnum XL 200. See here: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm -
Due to inclement weather, Sunlite Pool has closed for Thursday, May 28th.

Flight of Fear has the same number of trains as Joker`s Jinx, but each train does NOT have the same number of cars. Joker`s Jinx has six cars with 24 people per train. Flight of Fear on the other hand has five cars per train for a total of 20 riders per train.

I agree. Saturday Sunday, logistically at least would work better. I mean, assuming I have a full time job by then, I won`t have to use a personal day to experience both days if it is on Saturday Sunday. Also makes it easier for those in school to attend. However, that being said, if all the events on Friday evening were relegated to the evening hours (ie night time ert), then it might be beneficial if there were say night erts on Friday and Saturday, with morning ert also on Saturday.

And a considerable amount of money was clearly spent on that building and its associated theming. If I am not mistaken, that is the same version of Top Spin that Kings Dominion has. I have not had a chance to ride the "new" Crypt yet. (I`ve been busy wrapping up school stuff). But based on reports, a ride on the Rock O Planes at Coney may be more intense than a ride on The Crypt with the new program. Just ask Gordan Bombay about that. I showed him an intense ride last summer on it! And to follow up on a comment a few pages back. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Ferris Wheels. They are a classic ride. Its a shame that Kings Island doesn`t have a true Ferris Wheel. A lot of families love riding the Ferris Wheel at Coney, even if most of them remark that Coney runs theirs faster than any other one they`ve seen.

Wow. Seriously. Is Diamondback the only thing that some of you are riding when going to Kings Island? I`ve managed to secure 48 rides up to this point, and have only been to KI once since the first day of RWW. (Which was Saturday morning, and the whole reason for me going to the park was for "homework" for my thesis presentation, since I needed some pictures from Boomerang Bay.) I mean, Diamondback is a great ride and all, but there are other things and amazing attractions too. I even rode the train when I was up there on Saturday and got to see both trains running. Always a nice site to pass the other running train!

Don`t forget that Sunlit pool is now open daily! Come out and check the all new Twister at Sunlite Pool. Rides begin daily operation next Saturday.

As pointed out, please carry out all future discussions on this subject on the already established thread. Closed.

Hey, I wasn`t at Coney yet this weekend. I have been stuck in DAAP working on my final design presentation. I finished it tonight around 11 pm, and I don`t present until Wednesday. Also, I haven`t even been over by Trabant or Round Up this year. All the days that I have worked, I have been over at the Ferris Wheel. For those who might want to go to Coney tomorrow (May 25th) you can donate three canned goods to the Freestore Foodbank, and get a pool and rides combo ticket for just $14.95. The normal price is $21.95, which equates to a $7 savings, or just over 30% off the regular price! (And I will likely be working tomorrow, since I finished my presentation).

Last Saturday, while running the Ferris Wheel at Coney, I stopped the ride and kicked off a kid after I saw him lean forward and spit. He was probably 14, and was trying to hit his friend who was riding in another car. When his friends who were on the other site of the ride asked him why he was off the ride, he responded with "I was spitting and got caught." Those same kids later got yelled at by the rides manager after they cussed out one of the workers at the bumper boats. Some times, there are just obnoxious and bratty kids that come to amusement parks, and do not have any consideration of other people around them.

Yes, it is an AWESOME picture! But hey, me being in it is part of why I think it is so awesome. That was a fun, fun day at the park, and a long day for me, as I also worked four hours at Coney in the afternoon!

He wasn`t moderating perse, just offering some wise words of wisdom that should be embraced. Why go to a messenger when you can ask the person that sent the messenger? I mean, it is an employment related question, so naturally, one should be asking their supervisor not a forum on a fan site.

Nice PTR! I am exhausted! I also spent four hours of the day working at Coney running perhaps the fastest Ferris Wheel in the state of Ohio for four hours! All in all, I got sixteen rides in on Diamondback. I will not be up at the park later today for day two (due to thesis commitments). In fact, I may not be able to get back to KI until AFTER May 28th!! That is my final thesis design presentation.

Abu Dhabi to build Ferrari World theme park
CoastersRZ replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
For one of my classes back in the fall, I had a guest lecturer from Jack Rouse Associates (now that was a fun two and a half hour long Monday evening night class!). They spent two hours detailing some of the ride and concepts for the park. That park is a REALLY expensive project. Most of the building, with the exception of the roller coasters and drop ride are all located indoors because of the climate. There will be some unique and interesting dark rides incorporated into the park. The building, as can be seen in some of those construction pictures, is a really unique and expensive design. Definitely a fun and unique project. Hopefully, it is successful. The Ferrari brand has a very specific target market. -
Coney's Appalachian Festival w/Special KICentral Discount
CoastersRZ replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Coney Island Central
I know that this weekend is Ride Warrior Coaster Weekend. However, some of you may want to take a break from Kings Island during the middle of the day and head by Coney Island to partake in the Appalachian Festival. In addition to the half off discount on Friday, you can find buy one get one half off admission coupons. Visit area Kroger stores or the Weekly Shopping News to pick up the discount tickets. -
Another picture update has been posted to Coney Island`s Facebook page. See the pictures here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.ph...0525&ref=nf

Going to Carowinds in June
CoastersRZ replied to HandsUp's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
And most of all, don`t forget Danny Phantom Flyers!!! That ride still is a fun ride that packs a punch, even if it is no longer located in Ohio! -
Coney's Appalachian Festival w/Special KICentral Discount
CoastersRZ replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Coney Island Central
Thread bump. For those looking for something to do on Friday, you can get a KIC discount. However, note that Coney`s rides will NOT be open on Friday. They will, however, be open on Saturday 12-8 and on Sunday 12-6. -
I hear you with the sinus thing! From Wednesday through yesterday, my allergies/sinuses were causing me fits. I could barely hear out of my right ear! Yesterday, when I was at Coney for some training, it started to clear up and I could hear normally out of my ear again. Although, I`m still sneezing quite often. Darn allergies.

Yeah. I had a green collared shirt on with glasses. Can`t say that I remember seeing you though.

I got nine rides in on Diamondback today, including the second to last ride on Diamondback before they shut it down seven minutes early due to rain. Diamondback can be rather painful in the rain!! I`m up to 31 rides on DBack on the season. As a side note, the park has installed a Haystack Dryer next to the entrance to White Water Canyon. The cost is $5, although I`m sure there will be many people utilizing that after soaking rides on WWC or after encountering the elephant on Wild Thornberrys.

If the park is expecting rain, they often open the 265 deck, since it has a roof over it (the floor of the 275' platform), which shields guests from some of the rain.

I only posted the article (I knew there had been a previous story about it), because it was a headline on Cincinnati.com home page this afternoon.
