When I worked there and caught people doing that, I'd just say "This is a family park, not a park for making families" I know I'm not the only one that has used that...

I'm confused by your post Yogi...I think many people have made fairly decent arguments or stated their opinions...which is great, I think that's the whole point of boards like this - to discuss our opinions...Yes, it's a PKI board, but this topic stemmed from a PKI topic to something that is very front-burner in our society....I totally agree with CantStopCabron, this is exactly like the racism issues of the past (& present)...I hate to use this quote, but Can't We All Just Get Along - Who really cares about someone's skin color, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or anything like that?? We are all the same - Human! OK, I'll step down off of my soapbox...

They are totally different things... If people were less paranoid they wouldn't have a problem seeing two men or two women kiss in public. Yes, it might feel 'weird' the first time you see it, but everything does the first time. The first time I saw someone with a pierced tongue it freaked me out, now I could care less because it has become so common. I do agree that any overly-sexual public affection is out of line, but there is nothing wrong with a little kiss here or there. There is a difference between walking around in a 'profane' shirt all day and seeing two guys kiss for a minute...I don't get the big deal...

Also if you are that worried about your cousin not understanding, then you should explain that sometimes a man and a woman kiss, sometimes two guys kiss and sometimes two women kiss. It's just how things are...you can't choose who you fall in love with...it just happens. Secondly, think about it, isn't everyday "Straight Day"? Yes, this post is coming from a straight guy...I just don't get what the big problem is with Gay Day...I worked Gay Day quite a few years at PKI...

OK, this is just guessing on my part... First off, the current statue isn't out of place because it ties in with the TR stunt show Plus, if they keep adding props throughout the park, it won't look as odd... It sounds like they are really trying to be somewhere between Universal & Disney...a movie-themed family amusement park...I say, good for them!

The stunt show will be at the International Showplace...Vibe will be relocated for those 2 weeks. I still think it's something Roman/Caesar based...Yes, I know it's a Paramount park, but does the ride really have to be themed to a movie? OK, yea, that's a stupid question :-) I'm also guessing since 'a sign' is going up this early that the new ride will take some time to build. SOB, TR, etc - they announced these early since they are quite big and took time to build....However Scooby & Delirium didn't take quite as much time and aren't quite as big, so they could announce those later...at least that's my thinking on it. I would think if it's a coaster they would need to start clearing land and/or setting up the foundation for the ride early into the season... Who knows, maybe we are all thinking a new coaster, but it will be something totally unique - a first of it's kind...Kind of like TR:TR and Delirium were for PKI!? Someday (not this year) I'd like to see a 'Twisted Sister' / 'Dueling Dragon' type of coaster, except one track is wood and one track is steel....Now that would be cool and would fit perfectly at PKI... OK, enough rambling!

It kind of looks like Julius Caesar to me... Maybe a Roman theme? A coaster called "Chariots Of Fire" - playing off of the song (from the movie) they play on International Street!? How bout something themed to the movie 'Gladiator'? Was that a Paramount movie? Just a couple thoughts...

I haven't seen the new sign, so I don't know how big it is and where it's located on stage....but in the past they have just covered it. When they had the Survivor show a couple years ago, they had different backdrops or screen-type things for the stage to cover the normal background... I'm guessing they need a stage that size for the magnitude of the show...There is a lot of space available at Showplace....

I think next year will be the year to watch....I'm hoping they keep up / bring back the big stage shows....the lighting, dancing, singing, etc. The people you mentioned, what did they do at Pop Fusion? Who? (If ya don't mind me asking)...I worked at Pop Fusion too....

Sounds similar to the two stunt shows that were previously at PKI. I worked at the one that was at the International Showplace....What a season that was! At least I know it won't be the exact same people... Never got to work or even see the one in AZ...It was gone very fast...

I totally understand where they are coming from....Most of the things you've listed are things you personally do....drinking, skydiving, etc...They have an effect on you....However when people smoke there is such a thing as Second-Hand smoke...While I don't think it is the smartest thing to do, if you want to smoke in your own home that's fine...but I don't think non-smokers should have to be put in harm's way and exposed to the 2nd Hand smoke unwillingly. I've personally seen the effects that smoking has on people. I would be totally happy if more places became smoke free. Just my opinions...

I agree, smoking should not happen in certain areas of the park...I know I may be in the minority, but I think the entire park should be smoke free. First off, I, personally, don't like the smoke (plus allergic to it), but also more importantly I've seen the effects smoking can have on people. It's not pretty... I just think the park needs to do what it can to enforce the rules concerning profane clothing (or lack of clothing), smoking, and something nobody has mentioned - alcohol. The one thing I'll never understand is why alcohol is even sold over in WaterWorks... Anyhoo, just my opinions...

OK, if FF is not an extra charge this year for Passholders....What about for everyday visitors? Included w/ Park Admission? Can you JUST go to FF? I'm wondering if it will be the same stuff this year...

Were you working at the same place as me? We were packed almost every night...I was working the houses and Slaughter...We had almost 2 hour waits at some points...There were a couple dead nights this past season because of weather, but other than that we were always busy - same with the year before...

Oh, I hope this is true...I rode SOB at the beginning of last season and haven't been on since - both of my knees were black and blue...

They say "Limited Operation Days" as a warning that some things MIGHT not be open...A lot of employees are still in school during this time, so they don't know for sure what they will be able to open. There was one year I was working at Animation Station (the store) and got pulled to work Eagles & Flight Commander...that's how short they were...I've also been pulled to work the Train....that was kinda cool...Long story short, it's just letting the public know that certain things MIGHT not be open...basically CYA....
